Hi guys i just got a HD7 connects to my wifi at home with no issues, has a WEP security code, but it dosent connect at my office which is WPA2 i think, is there a way to solve this or am i stuck for now?
It dosent even show up on the available networks at all by the way not just cant connect.
Thanks
WP7 currently can't connect to wireless networks with a hidden SSID from what I've read. WPA2 should be no problem. You should really upgrade from WEP at home, its easily cracked.
Yea i know lol... im in a very remote location so not to worried.
HTC just releases an app called Hidden Wi-Fi. Just google it and you'll see the link. Only problem is i can't see it in my hd7 marketplace. Anyone help?

Goto the marketplace, select apps, then do a search for hidden Wifi.

The problem with the app I am having is that it tells me:
This application requires the latest Wi-Fi software. Please update your phone to the latest system software.
I am currently on No-do, so I don't know what else to do.
Lol. Guess you have to wait for the Mango update.lol

can u tell us your device & country
I'm experiencing the same behaviour all day. Seems to be some serious marketplace issue.
Unbranded HD7 in Germany btw.
Tends to happen randomly to me as well, prolly because of the marketplace upgrades for Mango.
AppHub doesn't seam too stable either these days.
HTC Trophy, united states.

After a downtime of approximately 10 or 11 hours it's finally back working.
sorry to bump the thread but I started getting this error today
Trophy running Mango
EDIT: ALL IS WELL NOW
every time i want to install an app from the WP Marketplace I'm getting the same Error code c101a006
My phone in a Nokia Lumia 800 fw. 1600.2487.8107.12070
I was getting an error over and over again, but then I turned my phone off then turned it back on and it went away and everything works now
I woke up this morning to an alert on my HTC 7 Pro that I had a software update available - "hooray", I thought, expecting just to get 7740.
To my surprise I was also pushed the HTC Update with Internet Sharing enabled, so my 7 Pro is now fully 'mangoed'. Don't know if any of you guys have had this too?
Annoyingly, though, HTC didn't think to fix the MAC address issue (changes every time you reboot), so my phone can /be/ a wireless hotspot, but can't /connect/ to my wifi network. Damn
I got this update today too for my 7 pro. I thought it was weird since I'm on DFT v2 I didn't think we got updates.
Sent from my Optimus 2X using Tapatalk
i guess it depends on your carrier and where you are located
maybe origin of phone plays a part too
i'm in singapore, where the 7 pro is not available, but i still got it
if it matters, my 7 pro is a unbranded set from the uk
Only IS for HD7 7720 not getting 7740 yet.
And nothing for me on the trophy yet -.-

Well so far I only know of Mozart, HD7 and 7 Pro geting updates so I'm sure you will get it eventually if your carrier supports it, it's just a matter of time.
Incidentally, I've very please that the update isn't carrier dependent, as this means for sure that they can't detect you using it if you're on an unbranded device
I got the 7740.16 update yesterday but if it is supposed to enable IS,, I'll be damned if I can find it...
Did it just show up in the program list for the rest of you? Is there something that needs to be changed?
Thanks,,

It's in settings
it is not, this is OS update, not firmware update.

Internet Sharing is located in Settings, between Bluetooth and Email+Accounts
At least it is on my HTC 7 Pro, updated to 7740 (which if you look carefully includes the HTC update at the bottom) yesterday.
If you install a later update, all earlier updates are installed also. It looks to me like the HTC Update was activated slightly before 7740, so is getting packaged in at the same time.

Hi andrew
can you run WP7 Update Cab Sender to read the update log and share url of the HTC Update.
Can we force update like 7720? and how it's done.
I updated my unbranded hd7 to 7740 but still didn't have the IS. sucks!

If you tell me where i can find the update url in the log, i can give you that.
But if you want i backuped the downloades Zune Cab (about 40 MB), so i can upload it to RS.

Hello guys,
First of all, sorry for my bad english.
So, I bought a Galaxy Nexus 3 months ago, and I'm really impressed with this phone, but one thing is really annoying me. When using tethering, connection fails all the time.
Let me explain better:
1-I Turn Tethering on
2-My computer detects it. I connect
3-Internet works.....for a few minutes than every website fails to load.Stays on "Sending request"
4-I have to turn wireless off and turn on again, than it works again for a few minutes and fails.....
Thanks for your help!

This app works great, you will need root.
the problem persists
Try using foxfi

have you tried multiple machines? Could the issue be your computer and not your phone?
I've been having this same problem, but I'm pretty sure it is my Mac Lion causing the problem, not the phone... If you're using a Mac, check it out. I haven't found a solution, yet. Let me know if you find something...

Im using Osx Lion too.......
But it happens both with Macbook and with windows 7
Same issue here for years on Macbook pro. Tethering works for a minute or two, then all pages fail to load and it reverts to "Sending request..." or 'This webpage is unavailable'. Highly frustrating.
I'm not sure it's Android at fault because I get the same behavior on some public WiFi hotspots, but never at home. Any ideas?

Why am i getting this error when I haven't done anything at all and it was working perfectly fine yesterday? I'm on a rooted GSM. So all my adb drivers are still setup properly i just checked.
Edit: it's working literally after i posted this but i didn't do anything... is there a solution to this if it happens again in the next like 2 minutes lol
further update: it just keeps going in out of this but mostly giving me this error than working anyone have a solution?
strange i just got an S III, getting the same issue. i going to try another PC i think it could maybe be driver related
Yeah works just fine on the other PC (both running Windows 7 x64) so im guessing driver related?

That's really strange, I mean i just installed the drivers last night to root my device and it all worked fine and i guess it decided to say "buzz off" to me the next day.. I think it's happening on a lot of other phones because I was googling earlier how to fix this problem but didn't really see anything on how to do it
Try reinstalling the phone with naked drivers.

im guessing you have a windows pc?
samsung put out a driver update for the computer that caused the error.
only way i found to fix the problem is to do a system restore back a few days before the update.
my update was automatic, im going to see if i can stop that update from happening for now..
ic you can call samsung and make them aware like i did...

I just got this message as well....and guess what, had just finished installing updates for Windows.
Any solid answer on how to fix this?
I see this when the debugging mode is on, if you turn off debugging the error goes away
I still get the error even after deselecting debugging.
Thing is, it was working perfectly fine with debugging on, until I updated Windows 7.
I think it has to do with someone with one of the security updates or something......really annoying!
I'm having this issue on my Galaxy Note as well. I started getting it once I updated from 4.0.3 ICS to 4.0.4.
I have to connect phone using the USB Mass Storage now. Before my phones SD and phone storage would be detected as soon as I plugged it in via usb.

Verified. Turn off debugging it works. When Debugging is on its random, but mostly does not work.

but turning off USB debugging kinda defeats the purpose of hooking it to your computer unless you're just using it to charge your phone

Try turn the usb tethering on, in settings guys
i've also been having this recently. i'm guessing that a windows 7 update has messed something up with mtp drivers as my phone was working fine across 3 different windows machines and now doesn't work on any of them :\ it has stopped appearing in explorer as a connected device in media or camera mode.

i turned this on and it forced the phone to install another set of drivers then i turned it off. now i can see the phone and access it in explorer in media mode which is all i care about. currently moving files, but unless i reply back stating otherwise, it's all good now
USB Teather
I was also having this issue. ive just tried the USB teather. It loaded RNDIS communication controller as a driver. No issues since. Good call with the USB tether. I dont know why I didnt think of that!
UPDATE not working this morning. Ive spent a few hours trying to figure this out, but alas.
