Hi guys i just got a HD7 connects to my wifi at home with no issues, has a WEP security code, but it dosent connect at my office which is WPA2 i think, is there a way to solve this or am i stuck for now?
It dosent even show up on the available networks at all by the way not just cant connect.
Thanks
WP7 currently can't connect to wireless networks with a hidden SSID from what I've read. WPA2 should be no problem. You should really upgrade from WEP at home, its easily cracked.
Yea i know lol... im in a very remote location so not to worried.
HTC just releases an app called Hidden Wi-Fi. Just google it and you'll see the link. Only problem is i can't see it in my hd7 marketplace. Anyone help?

Goto the marketplace, select apps, then do a search for hidden Wifi.

The problem with the app I am having is that it tells me:
This application requires the latest Wi-Fi software. Please update your phone to the latest system software.
I am currently on No-do, so I don't know what else to do.
Lol. Guess you have to wait for the Mango update.lol

I haven't seen an update after the NoDo update. I just got a connection setup update.

Since AT&T's update is coming soon, I was just wondering if anyone knew whether you could update from the forced "stock" NoDo to the carrier's NoDo? Has anyone on T-Mobile or elsewhere done this?
If not then I guess you would have to Restore the phone in Zune to pre-NoDo and then upgrade again. But that sounds like a lot of wasted time to me!
I'll go out on a limb and say no - because the updates are delivered as patches.
Doing a restore will work (as long as the restore doesn't fail of course) but simply flashing a new (7004/7008) ROM would be faster - even though you would lose all your user data that way.

That's a hassle. Oh well, thats the price you pay when you get impatient.

The bad news - there's no ROM for the Samsung Focus.
More bad news, if you forced nodo using the chevron updater, there is no backup. You won't get those at&t specific functionalities until a focus rom surfaces or someone hacks them onto the phone... I guess Microsoft's warning regarding the use of the chevron updater wasn't just smoke...

What att specific functionalities. The only other thing in the update is att WiFi, and att address book stuff. Both lame.

Where did you read that? I have only heard of the nebulous "at&t specific functionality"

Luckily I forced NoDo through the timing hack. I'm glad I did too.

Well I thought they might also include Focus-specific updates here and there. I'd have more peace of mind with the AT&T update.

There is whisper support for automatically switching your phone from cellular data to AT&T Mobile WiFi hotspots. That in and of itself is, IMO, worth getting the AT&T update for. It can potentially save on a lot of data not to mention the hotspots are relatively widespread for AT&T and typically faster than a cell data connection.
AT&T Address Book can be important for people coming form other types of phones where they had tons of contacts and haven't had the time to port them all over to Windows Live.
I have no interest in the "AT&T specific features", but I do with there is a Samsung specific update that could get us newer firmwares.
Anyone else having this issue since the update? Mine hasn't updated since 24/5...
Have tried what has been suggested in other threads (purging app data, removal of widget and hard reset etc) but nothing seems to make any difference.
Goto the weather app and press 'menu'. Click on Settings, and make sure the 'Scheduled Sync' option is checked
Thanks but no luck. When I enter the app and refresh it tells me the connection was interupted; over and over again.

This is a problem that we've had in the UK on T-Mobile builds of Froyo, it's only now getting fixed in Gingerbread. The update of weather would only work on wifi.
Assuming you're still running stock (non-rooted) I'd get in touch with HTC and don't let them fob you off.
I've had it a few times. I was told in another thread it's a bug with the weather servers, and we'll just have to wait until it's fixed.
I've had issues playing Slacker radio the last few days, so I uninstalled the app so that I could re-install and see if it would fix the problem. But now I cant find it in the Marketplace, anyone else having this issue? I am running Mango 7720 on my HTC HD7 from tmobile.
Thanks
It's gone for me too. TMOUS HD7 Mango Beta 7712.
I assume you're talking about the T-Mobile version of Slacker, because the regular version is still there. I read somewhere that the T-Mobile version had been updated for Mango, so maybe you can't see it if you're still on NoDo.
Yeah I received the update for Slacker that enabled playing in the background, then a few weeks later Slacker wasnt loading anymore, it would stay stuck loading. So I uninstalled the app in the hopes that if I reinstall it would fix the loading issue. Um when I did that I went to the marketplace to reinstall but no longer listed, WTH?
Now Im stuck without Slacker and still no Pandora radio (if thats ever gonna happen).
Just realized this tonight. I'm sort of pissed, TBH. It does show up in a Zune Client search, but I cannot search from the phone. Don't want to install from the Zune Client since I've heard of issues where it installs uninstalled apps whenever you hook your phone up to your computer...

It'll only reinstall uninstalled apps if you hard reset.

Can someone post the XAP? Interested if it runs better than the last mango version. It was really buggy.
I woke up this morning to an alert on my HTC 7 Pro that I had a software update available - "hooray", I thought, expecting just to get 7740.
To my surprise I was also pushed the HTC Update with Internet Sharing enabled, so my 7 Pro is now fully 'mangoed'. Don't know if any of you guys have had this too?
Annoyingly, though, HTC didn't think to fix the MAC address issue (changes every time you reboot), so my phone can /be/ a wireless hotspot, but can't /connect/ to my wifi network. Damn
I got this update today too for my 7 pro. I thought it was weird since I'm on DFT v2 I didn't think we got updates.
Sent from my Optimus 2X using Tapatalk
i guess it depends on your carrier and where you are located
maybe origin of phone plays a part too
i'm in singapore, where the 7 pro is not available, but i still got it
if it matters, my 7 pro is a unbranded set from the uk
Only IS for HD7 7720 not getting 7740 yet.
And nothing for me on the trophy yet -.-

Well so far I only know of Mozart, HD7 and 7 Pro geting updates so I'm sure you will get it eventually if your carrier supports it, it's just a matter of time.
Incidentally, I've very please that the update isn't carrier dependent, as this means for sure that they can't detect you using it if you're on an unbranded device
I got the 7740.16 update yesterday but if it is supposed to enable IS,, I'll be damned if I can find it...
Did it just show up in the program list for the rest of you? Is there something that needs to be changed?
Thanks,,

Internet Sharing is located in Settings, between Bluetooth and Email+Accounts
At least it is on my HTC 7 Pro, updated to 7740 (which if you look carefully includes the HTC update at the bottom) yesterday.
If you install a later update, all earlier updates are installed also. It looks to me like the HTC Update was activated slightly before 7740, so is getting packaged in at the same time.

Hi andrew
can you run WP7 Update Cab Sender to read the update log and share url of the HTC Update.
Can we force update like 7720? and how it's done.
I updated my unbranded hd7 to 7740 but still didn't have the IS. sucks!

So I brought my A100 to Italy and android market does not work. My email app doesnt work. All it keeps saying no connection. I've restarted it several times and every time it will say i have an update. But when i try to update it will give me no connection again. I've tried updating the market by downloading it somewhere else and even resetting it to factory. Stil nothing... Also its not rooted.
Has anyone had this happen to them traveling abroad?
Have you tried checking to see if you actually have internet access? Sounds like your either not connected to the internet or your internet connection is being heavily limited by a firewall.

Ok so i found out what the problem was. Market auto updated to a bad version. Only way to fix it at the moment is a factory reset... good bye pre-loaded gamestop games
