[Q] Synergy Rom + Warm Theme dINC - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Am I the only one that started getting FC's while running the stock mail app? I have a secondary gmail IMAP account running on the mail app and my personal account running with the stock gmail application. I'm not sure if that makes a difference at all, but it worked fine yesterday but as of this morning when I go to open the app I get a FC. Any help?

Fixed.
Ok so I'm an idiot. It looks like there was a conflict between the gmail application (I apparently set up the account there as well) and the mail app. I deleted the Exchange account and set it up again without there being any redundancy and all is well.

Hotmail not working with 2.2 (incredibly re-engineered)

Hey guys, Just flashed the newest update of incredibly re-engineered to my dinc, been using older versions of inc re-engineered for a while. But hotmail still doesn't wanna work. Yes I've tried all the different types of pop, and exchange settings, and now I give up on trying to make hotmail work with the stock mail app. SO, gmail works just fine, I loaded up my gmail account, set my hotmail to forward everything to my gmail account, then set my gmail account to send messages under my hotmail address.
Problem solved. A real ass-backwards way of making it work so that I can have the mail widget, but it works. Of course other apps from the market will connect to my hotmail account, and I have maildroid, and thats nice, but this was the only way I could get hotmail to somewhat work with stock mail.
I will say, sometimes hotmail would sort of sync with the automatic settings, but it would only sync 10 messages at a time, and it sync'd my oldest messages first. So thats useless. I'd have to set it to sync-all in order for that to happen. All the other settings like days and how many messages, didn't take any effect. Then again, google probably considers adding windows features to a google phone to be sodomy. I'm not that surprised hotmail doesn't wanna work on my dinc
So I guess this is more of a comment thread than a question since things are working. But if you encountered the hotmail problem with android 2.2, and overcame it, please share.
Did hotmail ever work when you were running stock?
Nah didn't work right then either.

(Q) Push Mail (Hotmail) on Leedroid DHD Rom?

I'm using the Leedroid HD Rom and have setup Push email for my MSN/Hotmail account in the default email app, however I don't receive the emails unless I have the app open on the screen. It doesn't seem to run in the background as Gmail does. Has anyone successfully got Hotmail/MSN working with push email?
I have tried to setup Push within K9 but it fails to accept the settings, I'm wondering if the default port shown in K9 is wrong?
Any advice appreciated.
I have the exact same problem with gmail.
I have setup gmail as an exchange account in order to have push mail functionality but it does not work

[Q] SOS 1.0.9.7 sync issue

Love the rom but sync icon is on 90% of the time. Device not syncing but icon is always there.
cant post in development?
I've experienced this as well with the stock rooted ROM, not just SOS. I've found the issue to be something to do with the accounts setup and possibly the Peep app.
For email clients, I'm using Touchdown for work and Enhanced Email for my personal accounts, set to Push, so I have the Exchange settings under Accounts on the phone not syncing at all, since I'm not using the stock email client. If you see the sync notification going, check your accounts/sync under Menu>Settings to see which account is running and you can toggle it off and see if anything bad happens.
I also have seen that removing Peep caused this issue as well. Seems that Sense ROMs have a tight integration with Twitter and FB, so when I removed Peep with TB, the phone started syncing almost continuously even though I don't have a Twitter account. I reflashed the ROM, which restored Peep and it stopped syncing.
I hope this helps and good luck.

K9 mail help... PLEASE (Gmail Push not working)

Using K9 mail v4.011 (newest as of todays date from play store) on Samsung GS3 ICS 4.0.4 running on T-mobile USA network.
I have it Setup for 2 Gmail accts, used K9 automatic setup.
If I go to K9 settings, global, network, background sync, and set this to ANYTHING except never, K9 mail leaves the data connection on constantly, draining the battery and eating bandwidth. No matter wifi or mobile data. the indicator in the top bar is continuous solid SEND/RECEIVE always on. I verified this with Network Manager (also from play store) too.
So I Disable the background sync, and the constant data connection stops, but when I get an email, I never get notified by K9. I have the Gmail app set up also for the same email accounts, and if I have the stock gmail app set to notify me of incoming emails, I get instant push notification of new mail from the gmail app but not the k9 app.
So, I obviously have something not set up correctly for k9 to receive push correctly, but I don't know what I have set wrong? can anyone PLEASE help me?
I'm having the exact same problem. K9 worked great for push e-mail with my Samsung Captivate, but with the Galaxy S3 it works only intermittently (possibly more frustrating than if it didn't work at all).
I tried clearing the data in K9 and re-entering the account info. That seemed to work for a few hours, but now I'm back to no push mail. The GMail app continues to work fine--I'd just go with that, but I like that K9 works with Tasker; GMail does not.
I had this issue too a while back, it was when i was playing with the polling folder options. The only way I could get it back was to uninstall it, and reinstall with the factory settings. I don't have any issues with it receiving push on my S3.

Thanks for the input. I just uninstalled and reinstalled K9, and I'm still having a problem receiving push mail. I guess I'll just have to go with GMail.

I think the issue might be that you have both GMAIL and K9 pulling the same accounts. Trying setting up one that is not also in the GMAIL app. There may be a delay and K9 doesn't getting push. I seem to remember one time i played around with the incoming/outgoing servers too and had to actually use the POP servers.

From what I went thru, you can not use gmail app with K9 at the same time, un-install one or the other. and which ever one you use, do the settings there, btw, the only way I could get K9 to work was use a system uninstall and get rid of the worthless generic gmail app. Up to you, hope this helps, I have 4 email accounts in K9 and it polls correctly.

Thanks. I'll try fully uninstalling GMail. Most of the time, I've had it frozen in Titanium Backup, and I've still had the intermittent push failure in K9. I defrosted GMail and used it at the same time as K9 only as a control to test whether K9 was working.

[Q] Stock Email - Remove Gmail Accounts

I'm hoping this is possible.
So on my personal phone I always use the gmail App for my accounts.
I just recently started working for a company that doesn't issue cell phones, but will set up your exchange account on your personal phone, so i've gone and done that.
Everything works fine, accept the Exchange account is accessed through the Stock Email app, and it is also synching my 2 gmail accounts. Is it possible to remove the gmail accounts from the Stock email app? I've gone into the app's settings and I can't see anything to remove them. I can see the option to stop the sync, but that does me no good for whats already been synced.
Any tips?
