I have this version which I can't seem to find as a SBF anywhere on the internet
Version.34.0.179.MB525.T-mobile.en.US
android 2.2.2
baseband EPU93_U_00.58.00
So how will I back up this ROM as a SBF before going to CyanogenMod?
Can I install nordic on top of this?
You don't have to worry about using the american sbf... The nordic will work fine... Just make sure you use the base band switcher to apply an american base band when you are finally in cm7.
I wouldn't bother making a recovery of your system now...
When you get into
Cm7rc1v2, you will love it..
Go ahead and flash the nordic, root with soc, and use second init to boot into recovery, so you can install cm7rc1v2.
It's all up on that first post.. Good luck

Feel free to lmk if you have any questions along the way... And, if you really want that american sbf... I can get you a link... Though, it will be wasted effort, as I know you will love gb better.

Thanks. I followed the guide and flashed CM7. But now I have an issue with GPS. I get absolutely no satellites. I have got GPS Status and have reset the state and downloaded AGPS data but not a single satellite is visible :|
Maybe flash back to the nordic, try and user the gps, then go back to cm7...
I heard someone say to do that about the camera, maybe it will work with the gps...
I personally haven't had any issues with either..
Another thing you can try, (which may or may not help, it's to flash the cm7 zip twice in a row... Maybe it will help to write[the data more...
Strange, my gps works fine.. where are you located?QUOTE=syl0n;16763563]Thanks. I followed the guide and flashed CM7. But now I have an issue with GPS. I get absolutely no satellites. This may be a silky question, but you are outdoors while trying to lock on satellites?
You should shoot for clear sky view, and depending on your location, it may take anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes to get locked..

I am now seeing 1 or 2 satellites at most. Could it be that I have faulty hardware?
Possibly...
I suppose it acts flaky in stock 2.2 also?
Btw, what are you using to get how many satellites you are locked on?
Edit:
Nevins.. I got something called gps status and test.. I'll tinker with that and see what I get as normal
Triple edit
Okay, I had about seven satellites after about five minutes of playing around.
You may just have a tough time in your area locking on?.?.

Check this out, found it on the other topic..
"13) How can I make GPS work better (be more fast and precise)?
- Make a backup of your /etc/gps.conf (use a file manager to rename or copy to another place)
- Visit this thread
- Click in the link "XDA Members Click Here" at the final of the post, and search for the correct .zip for your country
- Copy the .zip to your SD Card and reboot in Bootmenu, then flash the zip via Custom Recovery"

I don't know if anyone has seen this or possibly knows what it may be, it shows up in spare parts, network usage. I cannot click on it to see what it could be, get the force stop msg. Any help would be greatly appreciated, my battery life is absolutely horrible. Running fresh rom, slayers cyan dragon theme, tried several different kernels and nothing seems to help, also tried downgrading pri.
Thank You

I recently saw a post asking about the "0" and the horrific battery life. While no one ever figured out what it was, the op solved the issue by backing up his apps & data with titanium, flashing Calkulin's format all zip, then reflashing his rom & kernel. I think he slowly restored apps so he could watch for the issue coming back.
Try a search & you might come up with the thread. I would definitely try the format all zip, though.

Thank you, i've used it but instead of restoring my apps one by one and cking for battery drain, i've just been restoring them all. I'm definitely going to give that a shot, again, thank you.

Try reading the logcat file. Get alogcat from market. You'll see either a block or multiple calls to some apk.
You call also get autostarts from market and disallow activation of intentions / events which cause "hangs" (spinning waiting) from the apk you found in logcat.
Thank you, I'll try that also.

Widgets, Live wallpaper Messaging clients Or any other client that receive notifications from the internet Will have your battery murdered like a runaway slave.
Typically a battery is only good for 200 to 250 charges. If it was charge properly every time. Let's face it nobody even knows how to charge the battery properly.
*edit please add around 900 more to the above figures for li-ion batts. Figures I quoted were for standard rechargeables.
Also check that you're not constantly running wifi and bluetooth. 4 g and 3g modes eat more battery than 2 g mode. Do what I do disable all wireless connections not in use.
If you ever noticed the display eats most of your battery power. turn down the brightness whenever you can see the screen clearly.
Applications that stream data over the internet will eat your battery quickly.
That's about all I can think of. Well 1 more thing. Buy a new battery and see if that doesn't help. (try èbáÿ)

Definitely thinking about buying a new battery, mine completely died about 3 weeks ago and I had a hell of a time to get it to pick up a charge again. That's probably my main problem I'm guessing. I just can't figure out the 0 in spare parts, network usage. I tried flashing a fresh version of fresh rom and individually reinstalling every app I had before, seemed to work for awhile, it didn't show back up. Waited awhile and reflashed Slayer's cyan theme and now it's back. Battery life was still **** before it showed up again though. Good advice and thank you, I believe I'll try a new battery.

I will post logcat, I'll have to nand back, i've been trying a different rom(Destroyer rom) out since last night to see if it still appeared. I'm at a loss as to what it may be, the 0 hasn't appeared yet on this rom, it's an asop rom, not sure if it has anything to do with sense or not. I'll nand back to my original setup and post logcat or pm it to you would probably be better. Thank you

Hey guys, one of the main issues i'm having on CM9.1, and any version of CM9 that i've installed, is that I can't get NFC enabled/working. In settings, the NFC option has a checkmark but is greyed out. I reinstalled CM9.1 after doing factory reset, wiping cache, all that fun stuff. Still its showing greyed out. Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions? Any help is appreciated

I'm having the same problem and I've
tried the same solutions...
othing via search and nothing helpful via Google search.
Unfortunately, it also drains 30% of my battery (total from 100% to 1%) more than Pandora over 2g .
I've also tried several radios (all rils removed) but none of that helped.
So does anyone have a solution? I also have this problem.
No still no dice... I even reverted to full stock and followed the directions on the cm9 wiki using heimdall (as opposed to Odin) and even that didn't work. Reflashing my stock backup it works so my guess is its directly related to CM...
I'm going to try to find the directory that enabled/disabled is in so that I can at least turn it off properly but I don't expect to find it anytime soon...
On a side note it doesn't seem to have been reported in the official cm9 error area someone might consider doing that... lol

I have the opposite issue. NFC is checked and blue but when I go to turn it off, it grays out. When I go back into settings to see if it sticks, it's activated again. I don't know if it really is on or not, but that's kind of annoying.
Cm9.1 here and no nfc problems. Specifically it being greyed-out before or after checking/unchecking. I have not however used nfc to confirm it works. Here's some pics

Awesome... glad someone has it working. Can you confirm the steps you used to install it and the radio your using (Those should be the only differences)
::edit::
That I'm aware of, I believe cm uses their own RIL and Kernel, which should be the only other problem unless there are different battery versions (The nfc chip is in the battery)
But please, please correct me if I'm wrong because I want this to work

Well there is an app in the system app folder and it's called nfc.apk. I renamed it, rebooted, and the option is gone so is the battery drain. Mission successful.

So im getting some battery drain here and this phone is just 4 days old. I know time doesnt matter but im just saying ive given the battery some time to get better with the charges. First day i had to charge it twice, same with second day. Third day i disabled the CDMA/LTE radio and i had to briefly charge it.
Now today its been up for about 13 hours and its at 20% with mid-heavy usage. I dont think the battery is bad but i think IT COULD DO BETTER for a 2100mAh battery. Today i accidentally (from 8 am to 4 pm) ran with the CDMA/LTE setting on then i changed it to CDMA ONLY but battery was pretty much slightly better... I live in Puerto Rico so we are getting the new LTE Vision antennas soon here (decem 16. CANT WAIT) throughout the whole island
Something is weird... the first two days i noticed the battery drain so i noticed the SD card media server corrupt file bug but heres the thing... i took out my SD card and the media server process is still there :/ Shouldnt it have stopped? There is no more SD card for there to be a corrupt file problem. Also why is the Android process so high up on the list? should be about 85% screen and 15% the rest...
Any ideas why or who could be the culprit? I apologize for not using BetterBatteryStats as i havent purchased it and dont really intend on spending time on it. I love my phone just fine and i would hate to have to root it and install CM10.1 because i dont want to deal with updating my device every week because im OCD about updates.
Suggestions?
PS: i also run google now and Maps for latitude because i like sharing with my friends my location. Is latitude responsible for the whole Maps app battery usage? Is there a way for me to reduce it without manually having to update my location? Like in longer automatic intervals. Would disabling "report from this device" and "location reporting" turn off the latitude location sharing ?

unfortunately not, both are located somewhere inside the /system folder
as for BetterBatteryStats, there should be a thread here with an XDA version which is free for members
lastly, the 12/16 LTE launch is only for the south of the island, or so they've advertised (I could use it in Hato Rey, I've only gotten 1x for the past month and a half)
I know but wishful thinking about the LTE. Heard it should be island wise by February.
So I guess rooting is the best way to get rid of these Battery problems but then even if I stay on the stock ROM I won't be able to upgrade OTA (not that it's been mentioned anyways)
I think I've done my best to reduce the battery drain minus turning off the maps thing

I am having issues with the GPS on my phone finding any satellites.
I have had my phone running various custom roms for about 9 months and had no problems up until about 2 weeks ago. I noticed the GPS wasn't finding any satellites at all. It may have not been doing this for longer, I am not certain whether a ROM change had this effect, as I don't necessarily check all features work after I change the ROM.
When it attempts to lock, the icon comes up at the top, but it never stops flashing as though it is searching for satellites. This happens on Google Maps, Endomondo etc.
I then did the usual suggestions of using various GPS tools from the Google Store to wipe AGPS data and trying all options in a hope to get it going again. I also ran the script here from recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574504
I tried different kernals and the changed from a Sense ROM to an AOSP or CM one, all with no luck. I have tried 4.2.2 and 4.1 ROMs also.
I am currently running
Sentinel ROM 4.6 with the kernal that comes with it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2233734
Recovery: TWRP 2.3.3.0
Bootloader: HBOOT 1.36.00 S-ON Unlocked
Each time I have wiped everything, cahce, dalvik, system and data, and I have done erase cache through fastboot as well just in case. I always do the boot.img through fastboot as well.
Has anyone got any suggestions for next steps please?
Thanks
Jason

I had a GPS issue that no software could fix. Best fix is to lift up GPS pins inside your phone. Now I can lock onto 10-11 satellites

This is the most annoying issue on this phone. It happens seldom, and the only solution is to restart, but sometimes it doesn't work at all.
I can't find a trigger to it, as I open the same apps each morning in the same order: endomondo, sports-tracker, biko and strava. All of them use the GPS and usually work ok. But suddenly, last week GPS dated started to malfunction and first no satellites in view, then after reboot the problem on the screenshot arises: many satellites in view but no fix.
I tried GPS test and GPS status apps to clear GPS cache, but it doesn't work at all. But sometimes just opening this apps kind of "un jams" the GPS and it gets a fix.
Any idea if this is an Android issue, a Huawei problem and if there is a solution to it?

Bad news, it's back again.
It's not even cloudy.
I've noticed it happens more often in the mornings, at night GPS locks almost immediately. Also, a reboot fixes it most of the times. It has to be something related to system. But what?

Hmmm, i still get problems with the speed but not as badly as i used too, i always leave my gps on so its a warm start, it can take up to 4 mins to download the catalogs from the sats with a cold start, i am afraid the gps will never be perfect ob this phone the best thing is tp try to manage it as best you can, leave it on with gps test and let it download all the catalogs, this will take about 15 mins then always keep gps on, this will help it retain the catalogs, it wont use much battery mine doesnt, this will reduce the lock time, i would also change the setting to autonomous in the setting instead of network assisted and try that.
