I've been wondering which SD Card may be best for my Desire in terms of speed and performance? Are there any real differences between various cards? Does it matter at all which kind of SD I have or can i simply stick to my random 16GB SD that i have now?

If don't want to use data2sd, you can use your current sd card without any problems.

no way if the sd card in question is sdhc then you can't use it
otherwise you can partitionize it just like one do a harddisk

I tried partitioning several different ways.
Still only likes the small cards.
It does not even get to the boot loader.
Must be a hardware incompatbility.

Today I have recieved a Samsung 8GB micro SD card (Class 4) from play.com. I bought this to replace the existing 4GB card i am currently using in HTC desire.
I need some help from the form as I wonder can I just switch of the phone and replace the existing card. What happens to the HTC desire when a new 8GB card is placed... will all my contact (sync with Gmail) still stay??

Swapping the memory card won't affect your contacts.
It may be wise to copy everything on your 4GB card to your new card before you swap it in. That way, you can keep your photos and other stuff that your applications may have saved onto the card.

After having a Card die and buying a new one, that then failed, I have a question.
I've searched Google a bit but have not found an answer.
What is the likelihood/percentage/contributing factors, of getting a microSDHC card failure ?
I lost a lot of stuff when the first card failed, my fault for not backing up to an external device, I know better but ...... In looking to get a new card I just wondered what the failure rate/contributing factors were.

Good question. How many writes can a SD card handle and how often does Android write to the SD card? And as follow on questions: put Dalvik on SD and what file system to use for A2SD?

I'm trying to find information on the One M8's SD Card implementation but couldn't find any forums or sites that have satisfied my answer. I want to know how the Sense version of the M8 utilizes the SD card given that KitKat has really changed how SD cards work with android. I have a GPe S4 4.4.3 where the SD card flat out doesn't work unless I decide to root it and fix it.
Does the Sense version allow users to write to an SD Card?
Can I put apps onto an SD card with the Sense version?
Can I use photo apps to write to the SD Card?

So I have a rooted Xperia Play with a 32 GB SD card. I'm wanting to upgrade to a 64 GB SD card. I only use the Xperia for emulators. So my question is, could I transfer save states, root, current android version, and everything else over to the new SD card without any issues? No bricking? (I only have a general knowledge of all this). Would really appreciate some assistance!
