I thought there were 2 noise canceling mics also. Must have been a device i looked at but didn't get
Sent from my Incredible 2 using Tapatalk
There's two. One on the bottom for voice, and one on the very top for noise cancellation. The other holes seen on the back are for reception really.
Sent from my ADR6350 using XDA App
i thought i heard somewhere the two on the back helped when video recording.
There are indeed 2.

Hi I was wondering if it is possible for a mytouch slides sound from the back could stop working. I have a mytouch slide almost brand new and I rooted it and put 3rd sense rom on it and then over clocked to 785mhz. I then began to play drums on an app from the android market and then suddenly the sound stopped working. Is it even possible for stuff like this to happen out of nowhere. I was thinking it was the rom but I want to know what you guys think. Please someone help, thanks in advance.
well for sure the speakers didnt blow out becuase you would know that.... i think it is either your rom or from over clocking it, try putting the salsa slide rom on it and see if that fixes it, they both are sense roms
Would overclocking have caused the speakers to stop working

A blown out speaker cannot be caused by overclocking! An even @ that i doubt your speaker is blown! So i agree w/ the other person try the salsa rom!

OC will not bust your speakers. I am addicted to OC and that never happened to me.
Wipe and flash CyanogenMod 7 and see if the speakers work
My cousin just told me that he kept the phone on his window sill while the sun was on it. Could that have caused the speakers to stop working.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
I just flashed the salsa rom and the speakers still don't work. Any other ideas and thanks for the help so far.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
that is very weird this actually might be a hardware issue, maybe ur cousin dropped it and a wire or something in the phone came loose because right now thats really the only answer.
Alright then thanks guys, if someone doesn't mind answering this. How much would you estimate it would cost to fix a speaker on the mytouch slide.

I dropped my Epic the other day and now my speaker is staticy and distorted when the phone rings or I watch videos. Is this something sprint can fix or am I stuck with this till my upgrade?

I think its obvious there's a little cover that popped off over the speaker and it doesn't exactly go back on properly. Wouldn't insurance cover it though. I do have tep but I think they make you take it in to se if it can be fixed.

Thanks for the response problem solved tep took it in to sprint speaker replaced no charge.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about how Sprint gave us official jellybean for our phones.

Not only did they give us JB, they got it to us first of the 4 major US carriers!!!
way to go Sprint!!!
Yeah I will admit, props to Sprint.

I'm sure there are about a hundred other threads saying the exact same thing.
JB is amazing so far.. way faster, home button works much quicker even with s voice linked to it, love the next notification menu, and all of that.. even made our benchmark much much higher
JB is nice. It would also be nice if people started removing the sigs from Tapatalk :/
I agree im so happy all around. 1st of all this phone was flat out amazing out the box. I love the way this phone was marketed...all of the support and it seems like every accessory company is making things for this phone. This update was like getting a late christmas gift from your aunt in the mail lol.

Ive keep being told that everyone hears an echo while I on my side don't hear an echo. Idk if its my phone or what. I tried different roms, and can confirm its not the rom. I also have an otterbox case on my phone. Any ideas before I go back to stock and warranty exchange it?

Have you tried calls without the case on? I had the same issue years ago with an iphone 3g with an otterbox case on...took the case off...no echo

How do you do that
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
two things cause this...
First wifi calling to another voip number..
you can limit this by Turning volume down. and while in call tap menu button and turn off the noise reduction. Had this issue two days ago.. I was going Insane..
I also have otter box defender case. Case has nothing to do with it.. Your Mic is picking up your speaker and transmitting it back to the speaker..

Open the dialer, hit menu, call settings then select additional settings then uncheck nose reduction.

Actually its not a echo on my end. More of the caller constantly hear themselves echo. I think its the phone itself, and I have to return to stock to exchange the phone. Its a shame, because I had my phone set up nicely sigh. Just thinking about selling my note 2 smh. Freaking lemon I got.

It's a kind if common problem in Samsung phones. The mic picks up them and send it back over. It's usually fixed my turning off noise reduction, did you try that?
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
I actually did and the caller on its end still heard echos.

That's happened to me before but it's completely random for me. Most times, they have me on speakerphone so they hear an echo. Most likely not your phone. There are a lot of factors that play in, including different wave interferences and stuff.
But since you mention that everyone hears an echo.. I am probably wrong.

I asked because I had to cut out the flaps that cover the charging and earphone ports in order to get rid of the echo.
