Visual voicemail + Custom rom

Hey guys - this might be a noob question but I have been searching around and have found nothing as of yet. Are there any mods that incorporate visual voicemail? I am running cyanogen RC1 and it really annoys me that I cannot access this feature. Thanks again!

You can install the vvm.apk. Do a search for that and it'll come up all over the HTC EVO section.

You could also try Google Voice, which gives a visual voicemail.
Google Voice does a lot of other cool things too: gives you a new number you can pick, calls all your phones (home, work, cell) when someone calls your Voice number, emails/texts voicemail transcripts.

or of you don't want all that other google voice crap you could use youmail.com for free with the free youmail app in the market!!
You can customize greeting for each friend and even sync it to facebook etc.

OR you could just be old fashion and hold down the 1 key in the dialer and it will take you to VM and you could visualize the person who left you a message.

You're running Android , the answer is def.ly Google voice, you got so much options...

I had MIUI Rom with Google Voice installed as my voicemail. I recently switched to Myns Rom. OK, i uninstalled Google Voice because i want to use Sprint Voice, but every time i get a voicemail it keeps going to Google. My question is how do i make Sprint be my voicemail carrier?

You need to go to your google voice account on the web and disable google voicemail for your phone number in the settings.

[Q] Google Voice is Not Working.

Hi,
Google Voice is not recording anything for past week or so. I have ported my sprint number to Google voice. I have app installed and running. I have tried two different ROMs Myn's Synergy and CM 7. I have to have GV app installed to see google voice option in voicemail setting but as soon as i activate it only my carrier is available in voicemail settings.

[Q] Voicemail - CM7.1

Searched the forum for a solution but couldn't find one that addresses the one on the EVO.
Rooted, 7.1 Stable. I no longer get voicemail. The phone instead brings up this cryptic SMS sayting someone called and the message is like:
//ANDROID: (someone's tele) has sent you a Sprint Voice Message. Call 408-970-0000 to lisen MMSN, some long serial number to something.
When I do call that number it asks to setup the VM, I've done this a few times already.
Any help would be appreciated.

You can either restore the sprint vvm from a sense rom, or you can install google voice,

I used Google voice. At least sprint makes it easy because they partnered with Google, so you can keep your phone # and still get all of the google voice services.

The HTC Sense/Sprint file is called Voicemail T5.1.0.60. After restore, the VM works perfectly. It took a couple of backups of all things called voice.... to get it right.

Just flash a rom with working VVM like Miks Rom and backup VVM using TB or Root Backup and when u flashback reinstall it using your TB but first install the apk and the data it sometimes freezes when u do both at the sametime

SMS coming from GV - can't disable

Hey everyone, I was flashing a new rom for my friends note 2. I installed google voice and accidentally configured GV with Sprint. Now every time someone sends her a text to her Sprint numb3r, it's goes to her default sms app but it displays a google number as the sender. Same with the GV app. All texts go to GV app and her default sms app.
I reflashed her phone and bypassed configure with Sprint but I'm still getting those GV sms forwards. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm thinking maybe it might take a few hours for google to update the new settings?

Fixed...:laugh: I'm guessing it took google an hr to update the GV settings. Phewww
