So the other day, I tried to install cm7. Some things didn't quite work like the wifi tether (I would like 4g speeds on my tethering), so I went back to cm6. I'm pretty sure that I have the latest radio, but is there anything else that I need to update? I haven't flashed from cm6 in probably since it's release. So there could be something simple I am overlooking. Any tips?
*trying to flash cm 7.0.3.1 w/ gapps-gb-20110307
*radio is 2.15.00.11.19

Im fully rooted and running AvaFroyo v6 with kings kernel #6, and my Evo just wont make a call when I roam. I verified my roaming settings and everything is in order, so Im thinking that either the ROM or the kernel which is the culprit, as this didnt happen when I was using netarchys rooted 2.2 ROM. Does anyone know if anything can be done (sans flashing back to netarchys) to fix my issue?
I have done a lot of flashing recently, I am rooted and on CM6, I went to Chicago and flashed Fresh EVO to use 4G. I flashed back and everything worked fine. Then after searching around I updated CM6 to the RC1 version and updated the radio at the same time using the combo updater (I forget the guys name, chum or something like that). Now my battery life is AWESOME and I am not really sure the cause. Any ideas???
Had great success with CyanogenMod 7 RC1 and the #12 nightly (from 3/2/2011) on my G2.
Just wrapped up a quick flash to RC-2, but quickly started seeing weirdness, namely a continuous reboot to the CyanogenMod 7 bootup animation (blue skating android). Has anyone else ran into this on RC2 on the G2?
For now, restoring my nandroid backup from the #12 nightly which seemed pretty solid.
Also, fwiw, any US T-mobile users running into GPS issues (not locking) on the newest radio (26.06.02.27), I can confirm downgrading the radio back to 26.03.02.26 fixed this problem in my scenario.
Yes, same behavior. No idea about the radio and GPS. Just got my G2 today
I had the same issue when I went from RC1 to RC2, it kept rebooting so I just turned it off and it rebooted normal and has been working good ever since, maybe I just got lucky, idk.

If you're having bootloops try to do a reflash of the zip and reboot.
Many GPS issues have been fixed in the latest couple nightlies. For many people flashing the new radio doesn't work.
I've had GPS issues for a while on the stock T-mo radio, and it works fine now with the latest nightlies.
For detailed posts and info on the GPS, go read the nightly forum, there's 100000 posts on it.

Also can go other way. Fixed my GPS No Lock problem in CM7-RC1 going from 26.03.02.26 to 26.06.02.27
Perhaps it doesn't matter what radio you use, it just needs the radio to be flashed??? (YMMV, I'm still newb-ish)
i just received the newer evo with hardware 4 and gingerbread installed on it, i rooted the phone using the new root method and installed mikfroyo 4.62, the wifi is not connecting right or wont connect, ive tried at home, school, and a friends house, is there something i can change like wimax, NV, Pri, radios...just throwing stuff out there, but you know what i mean, anything like that, that i can change so wifi will work again??
Have you tried reflashing the rom? Did you install on a clean install?
Did you flash a custom kernel? Sometimes an incompatible kernel will mess with your wifi.

I have a similar issue that just occurred, I've had it working all until last week now any ROM I flash/restore will connect to wifi then immediately disconnect.
Any other thoughts?
same here then I wiped everything two times and flashed synergy RLS1 + godmode 3.0 rom and now its back. So maybe try that and let me know if it works for you or if it just worked for me.
sorry i thought i hit submit message like a weeks back lol, yeah i got it to work, i flashed a different rom and kernal then went back to the rom i like and it worked, weird, something must have not flashed write
Info:
Rom: Deck 1.3d, before was CM7 256
Kernel: Tiamat Lee
Baseband: 2.15.00.12.19
Problem: Even in CM7 had this problem every now and then and had a temp fix of simply flashing a wimax radio, but would eventually go back out again. But, I can connect to Wimax, for only a few seconds until I try and do anything that consume data and then it starts to scan again, rinse, repeat. I have my Wimax keys, verified with the checker, I know my ROM supports it, yet I can't seem to find a permanent fix. Anytime I have flashed radios I have read that some recommend to flash sense and update PRL and Profile, but I never have. Stupid question, but could this be the culprit? I just came back from Decks ICS alpha 5 and freshly installed Decks 1.3d after a clean wipe.... Still issues.
Any known fix, or am I just an idiot and overlooked something?
hey,
are you doing a full system wipe along with your cache and davik cache before you flashed? Now when your flashing your wimax radio are you using a new one? because you need to be sure its compatible with your rom to. and have you had this issue on any other roms?
Good luck
