Now the the only problem I am facing is I am not recieving voicemail notifications. I am recieving messages from people but I have to vall and check to see if I have any. Just no notification.
Anyone have any ideas.

Is the theme compatible with SRF 1.2?
I'd try clearing the data/cache of the voicemail program. Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Voicemail
If that doesn't work, then boot into CWM and use the fix permissions feature under the advanced menu.

I had used Athena for months and it worked fine, but I got a replacement phone this weekend after my AMOLED model broke and now I am having this issue with the Messaging apk. I haven't removed or changed any of the stock apps at this point so I know it's nothing that I did. I actually did a nand restore and went back to stock and tried re-installing Athena again without the soc. net. add-on and w/o the uncapped data mod and still did not work. I guess I could just install CM6.1, but I was enjoying athena at the moment. Anyone else encounter something like this or know how to fix it?
Your not by any chance reinstalling and application dats after the install are you?
I would try clearing the data and cache and see what it does.
Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All > Messages
then locate clear data and cache. You will lose all messages but it may clear the problem.
I'm having a similar problem but not with the stock app. I'm running My Calculator (an SMS privacy app) and it FC's on every third or fourth incoming SMS. I've been working with the developer, sending logs and troubleshooting. So far it looks like something with the messaging apk but not sure yet.
If I come up with anything on my issue I'll share, maybe it will help with yours.
When all else fails, reflash
I flashed my friends Evo 4G with CM7.02
He is using the stock texting app that comes with CM7.
He can send SMS fine. He can receive SMS fine. He can send MMS fine.
He can't receive MMS. They show up as an inline "download" button. Sent MMS show the picture inline. When you hit the download button it says "downloading" and never comes back.
He upgraded to CM7.1.0 and is STILL experiencing the same issue.
Is there a fix for this aside from installing Go SMS pro?
Did he install with a fresh install. Make sure he doesn't remove the stock messaging app as well.
Also, using wifi or 3/4G?
I am the guy with the evo
It doesn't work with wifi or 3/4G. I'm using the stock messaging app installed with CM7.

Howd did you go about your install of the rom?
I followed the walkthrough from xda here which IIRC was something like
Root phone
Install cwm
Clear 3 caches
Install rom
Reboot
Reinstall apps and accounts
I was having this issue for a long time and wiping/reloading seems to only temporarily fix the issue. I finally found a method elsewhere that works perfectly.
-Download Root Explorer (remember you have a 15 minute refund period on the Market)
-Navigate to /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/
-Press and hold on the telephony.db and delete it
-Reboot the phone and voila!
I tried downloading an old message and it wouldn't download so I had a friend send me an MMS and *boom* I was able download his image as well as the old ones that I was never able to get.
ok so, i flashed the Blazer rom, and when i try to send a picture in a text message, i keep getting a unable to attach/ file not supported error, does anyone happen to know what is causing this error? any help is appreciated, thanks

Hmm...try clearing the data for sms in the manage applications menu under settings. If that doesn't work, try booting into recovery and run fix permissions.
Mi nuh tek intimidation...
This has happened to me before when flashing new roms too. If what was said above doesnt fix it go into settings, about phone, system updates and update profile and prl then reboot the phone.
Using RootBox-JB-l900-Nightly-20130514.zip on a clean flash. Even when I was using PA 3.15 I has this issue with SMS working and sending but MMS was stuck on sending. Used the default messaging application and still nothing.
Do I need to adjust any advanced settings to make MMS work?

Quick update.
I flashed the new RootBox 4.0 rom, followed by the Matrix kernel, then gapps. All is working. MMS stock app.
Hey guys, been searching and reading for hours and have not found the answer ( if its out there please point me in that direction ). I am loving this rom and it worked great for the first day, now it won't send sms ( but can receive). I can make calls fine and data is fine just continues "sending" texts. I found a lot of people having this issue but never found a thread with a fix listed. Please help as I don't want to have to go with another ROM
I found that some messages are randomly going thru but it does not show on my phone, either shows as failed or still sending. I have tried my apn settings and cleared cache and fixed permissions. Anyone have any other ideas? getting desperate
