[Q] XPKG7 CSC pre-config doesn't work... - Bada Software and Hacking General

Well, I successfully flashed XPKG7 with ML 5.65 and stuff. Everything works fine accept one thing: CSC pre-config for DBT fails. Phone enters "infinite reboot"-loop after auto-reboot.
Is there any trick to solve it? ATM I'm re-flashing the same FW without "Master Rom" selected. It's an original FW, btw, nothing modified. previous FW was unmodded XPKG6.

Pre-configuration is not working and kills the FW (as i heard)
Maybe you need to rip off the other configurations from the CSC file and leave DBT only to get it working
Best Regards

I'll try that and post what happens.
Edit: Silly me, of course I need to do that before flashing... is there some guide on how to use TRIX?

Tried that already and it didnt work.
I also changed the default KOR CSC to my countries CSC and did a hard reset and it still didnt work.
Ultimately the internal files are currently locked to it and if it changes it corruspts it.
Been working on it the whole day already with asome varied results but ultimately ending up reflashing cause i killed the FW

GT-N7100 Android 4.1.2 problem

Hi all im having a problem with my factory unlocked n7100 i have downloaded the latest united kingdom 4.1.2 from the firmware section and flashed the 3 pda/csc/modem files with odin everything went fine but when the phone reboots i get two error messages (unfortunately process com.android.phone has stopped) & (unfortunately messaging has stopped) i have cleared cache and did a factory restore but the problem is still there the message app just crashes it is a fresh install no back ups and never been rooted also when i connect it to kies it says it is unable to update the version of firmware thats currently on my device i would like to use kies or OTA updates in the future any help would be much appreciated i have been searching for hours to no avail.
Try reading through Dr Kevin's threads again, just to be sure. Re-download the rom you want, from a different source and double check the MD5. Doesn't sound permanent, just a bad flash. Make sure you wipe everything again.
Thanks for the reply i re-downloaded the the same firmware again from sammobile incase somehow it became corrupted the first time with no luck same result could you point me to another sourse to download firmwares i have tried a similar firmware from another site but it on gave me the one file instead of the three which i flash with pda within odin but the problem was still there

There's a link it here... http://androidromupdate.com/2013/04...much-smoother-android-4-1-2-jelly-bean-build/
Might the same as the Sammobile but if the MD5 checks out, it should be fine.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I have tried the firmware given and several others from different sources still no luck i have noticed that all the official roms i have downloaded came as one file which i placed in pda slot on odin and flashed but the the first 4.1.2 firmware came as 3 parts pda/modem/csc it was after i flashed that rom i notced the problem with both error messages so maybe its something todo with the modem/csc files that were flashed ? I cant find another BTU firmware with 3parts to reflash i have also tried other region firmware

Once you flash the firmware, go to recovery mode and Wipe Data/Cacde... Make sure that you have backup of the phone contents.

The one file has all the other files like modem, csc in it.. This kind of error usually happens if the data is not wiped out. But as you said you have already done that several times, I don't know what might be the problem..
As you said that you are having unlocked N7100, I hope you downloaded this file http://www.hotfile.com/dl/229498497/9ffa6b9/N7100XXDME6_N7100OXXDME2_BTU.zip.html
Yes thats what i thought that all files were included in the one yes that is the exact one i have on it now i also tried it from different sources just typed *#1234# into the dialler what i have is ap: N7100XXDME6 CP:N7100XXDME4 CSC:N7100XXDME2 ? I appreciate the Help

Usually the product code is set when you Factory reset your phone in Recovery mode.. In your case it has not changed.
I checked in the Sammobile for Ireland based roms. But all seems to be carrier branded. So BTU rom should ideally work as it contains EIR CSC

Yes Sure someone more knowledgeable can help, you can PM your problem to Dr.Ketan (Search in this forum) he is rely genius.
Look my signature for N7100 toolbox, find PIT and download it
extract to .pit
Flash that PIT for PIT tab of odin (selecting pit will auto select re partition optiuon, keep it selected)
Again repeat but this time along with ROM file (single file ROM also enough). Rom file for PDA and pit file for PIT
Flash and report back.

can someone please help me?

this may be the dumbest thing i have ever done. and i feel stupid.
so i saw that 8.0.0 was released for the A5 BTU.
i assume mine was BTU because it was unbranded and I bought my phone from Carphone.
i install the firmware, only to know that i have no service. and in settings it shows up a wierd carrier that i cannot access.
so i plug it into smart switch on my pc, and it shows up as XER instead of BTU.
im so confused, can someone please help me? i feel really dumb
(i have left a screenshot of wierd carrier)
my imei and baseband also show up as unknown

I found a fix, reflash the Oreo image but make use of each file in the compressed zip. So the bl file goes to the bl section, ap file goes into ap, cp into cp, csc into csc...
U will lose all ur data though so be careful

Yes, my problem is a bit different as i only flashed ap so i had no service functionality but after i had reflashed, the phone erased itself and i was back on oreo with the proper settings app and with the ability to make calls and send text messages.
I think it would help to use odin 3.13/3.13.1.

Hey, flash modem.bin file from old stock rom and you are good to go ! Had this issue with my S4 .

S4 lte goes off just to receive calls (had same problem on S3)

Have a very weird problem, and think it is because of any app...
I use a galaxy tab s4 lte as a phone, it is a fully functional phone oversized... it is great, and im using tablets as phone 3 or 4 years ago... first was galaxy tab s2 lte, then s3, and now s4
S2 worked great... S3 worked great but from march of this year, randomly phone disconects fron network just to receive calls.... sms, 4g and wifi always work, but canr receive calls till i make a call... it is like it disconnects from network... i notice that, because i have (from the times of s2) my phone forwarding calls to my wife's phone when my phone is turned off or im in a plane for example...
But with tab s3, from march, i was in home with my wife and someone that call me ringed directly to my wife phone... as if my phone was turned off...a lot of times saw that... but when i place a call... it start receiving calls again...
Went to tmobile, changed the sim and same problem...
Bought a new S4 lte ($1000) and from the day 1 same problem...
Any help? Im pretty sure it could be any app... but dont know where to start
Factory reset, then install your apps, one at the time until it happens again. It's long process but unless someone came across it it's the only way to find out which app causes it. Perhaps not the only way. Have you tried to replicate it? Reboot your tablet, then ring it to check if it receives it. If not, you can uninstall one app, reboot, call, uninstall , repeat until you find which app it is. It's likely quicker this way but you need to be able to replicate it.
Most likely is the VoLTE is not set up right. And sounds like fallback to 3G for voice is not happening. Try locking it on to 3G and leave it in standby. Check whether inbound calls are coming through when you are camped on 3G.
It is possible to edit your CSC file to get it working properly. but you'll need to know all the correct fields to change and will require you to root, install custom recovery etc.
I haven't thought about that. Try that first. I mean locking to 3G.

Sounds good... but would hate if this was the problem, dont want to root phone... anyway... s3 was working ok till march... one year worked great! Because of that i think it can be a setting or app... there is any way yo change volte? I have seen something like that in any menu but cant find now
Seeing about volte... i remember on s2, and on s3 im not quiete sure, the hd call icon, related to volte, bit now have not that option in phone app settings
Thanks
I don't think the tabs4 t835n makes calls over lte, only 3g as per the specs on the samsung site. Mine always reverts to 3g when making voice calls. It still sounds great but this is the way it makes or receives calls.
Continuous Talk Time (3G WCDMA) (Hours)
Up to 50
That being said, it would be great to find out if it is capable and since there is root now, take the settings from the note9 and push it to the tabs4 T835n.
Have you tried if it receives calls after reboot?

I'm not sure it's possible without root access. You could try extracting the correct csc file for s9 and flash it via ODIN.
If you have root access you can peruse your csc file using this app:

Maybe you can ask your carrier to disable VoLTE for your account?
You will be trying at your own risk when you try to flash alternate CSC, remember you can always flash back to original.
You could also try flashing a complete firmware from a different country, check firmware available on Sammobile, search by your model code. TAB s4

Its me again friend... sorry for bothering you so much!
Look... here is the think...
I have downloaded two full firmwares...
the T835NKOU1ARGH_T835NKOO1ARGH_KOO for the T835N (the only firmware sammobile has for T835N)
the T835CZHU1ARH3_T835CTGY1ARH3_TGY.zip for the T835C (the latest firmware sammobile has for T835N)
When i extracted the CSC from that two firmwares i saw they are differents sizes! T835C is more than double than T835N...
Look at the picture attached...
T835N CSC File
CSC_OMC_KOO_T835NKOO1ARGH_CL13953229_QB19044239_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
47MB
T835C CSC File
CSC_OMC_TGY_T835CTGY1ARH3_CL14074605_QB19357398_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
112MB
What do you think about this? would be safe to flash a file, from other device with double the size...
It is the only thing i can do (talking about flashing other CSC) because on Sammobile there is only one complete firmware for the T835N... is not like other phones that you can choose country... the only country is korea
Thanks in advance....

I believe if you flash only the HOME_CSC it will preserve your data.
You don't need root
First up though, I would strongly recommend you try to back up your data using Samsung Smartswitch (back up to SD card). And try to back up to Samsung Cloud (not sure if this still is a thing). So you can restore when things go pear shaped
I believe the chances of getting VoLTE working faultlessly on your Korean tab are pretty close to 0. But if that's what you want, I would first try flashing a known working CSC from a device with same android version on YOUR carrier (Note 9 maybe?). This is unlikely to work, I think Samsung has been encrypting CSC files recently. You may need to flash Korean firmware at this point.
Secondly, I'd try flashing an alternate csc_home package from another country. Try the one you've downloaded. If you search T835 on sammobile there are many countries listed. I'd try XSA Australia if the first one doesn't do what you want.
You're on your own my friend.
If all this is getting too hard, just leave your tab locked to 3g in it's current state.

N930F Slow 4G-LTE - solved the problem

I bought the N930F in England - solved the problem
You need to flash the Ukraine CSC somehow (which is XE I think). There's a zip available here but I think it's older than you need. From memory I think you might be able to flash a CSC zip for the S7 (like this one: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=817906626617952067) but somebody would need to confirm this as I'm not sure tbh.
Otherwise flashing some of the more recent roms from here or XDAVN may give you the option to change the CSC during flashing.
I'm not sure what you're suggesting about the backups but check if you have custom recovery by turning phone off and holding down power, home, vol-up until custom recovery appears. This has the facility to do all the backups you need. Also might be worth checking if there is already backup there for EFS partition in restore menu.
Thank You! But do you think it is the CSC that can limit my data transfer?

I think it's possible. I'm in the UK and found I had better 4G signal when using the generic BTU CSC than using the UK EVR CSC. If you're using the phone in Ukraine it's definitely worth changing to the correct CSC just make sure the CSC is definitely suitable for the Note 7.
Oh btw I found CSC for your network (Kyivstar) is SEK.
Wow, but how to download it?
Thanks you. Need to try. You do not know how to determine for which country the device was developed can through S / N? (because I'm not sure if this was the device’s native firmware)
solved the problem.

Appreciate other suggestions to improve signal
Would love to be able to do this too. I completely messed up my entire modem somehow (+1 for stupidity) - only getting 'No Network' now, flashed the latest version of the software using Odin, no Knox issues on bootup etc. Took it back to the shop and got it back this morning saying 'Unauthorised rework' carried out - out of warrany, get a new phone
The modem is in the CSC file if I remember correclty, even though I reflashed that successfully, still no luck.
So I'm happy to try anything, not like I've got anything to lose!

Thanks, I'm just about to flash it now using ODIN - I used Samfirm as it donwloaded quicker, is that version any different? Screenshot of the current SIM status attached.
Radio not on etc.
Will update shortly....:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
[UPDATE]
Insalled the software posted by @BK last night, used ODIN and flashed everything, but used the HOME_CSC in the file. Same result unfortunately.
Added some additonal screenshots, any other suggestions?
Thanks.

If you look at the screenshots, you can see the radio/modem is borked. The status says the radio is off. there must be a way to enable it again surely?
