This is a normal doubt which arises in the mind of the users that can they apply any coderom theme in Coderom.v2 or v2b. Many professional users know the answer to this question and also know how to do it. This is for those who dont know.
YES, you can use the same themes in this coderom version too. All you need to do is follow the procedure.
Procedure:
1. Go to recovery.
2. Flash this theme Coderom Default and reboot.
3. Reboot back into recovery after a successful boot (with or without errors).
4. First select 'wipe cache partition'.
5. Go to 'mounts and storage'.
6. Select 'mount /system'.
7. Now apply the theme as you used to do in other ROMS. i.e. flash the zip by choosing that zip etc etc.
8. Reboot.
Note: Remember that whenever you have to reapply your theme in CWM, always mount /system using the procedure before flashing.
The /system gets unmounted after each flashing of zip (as the zip itself has a command to unmount /system).
Click thanks if this helped you
srry but not workin
Well then what is the problem.
It works perfectly for me. Tell me what you actually do as this is working for almost all the users. There no problem in this.

Hi there,
I recently flash leedroid 1.3 to my DHD and all went fine, however I later decided I preferred my stock Rom over it, so went into Rom manager and tried to restore from a nandroid backup I did before I flashed LeeDroid however it said "checking md5 sums...MD5 mismatch!" so booted into recovery then tried it from there. No luck..
I then tried ,Wipe data/factory reset, then "Wipe cache partition", then "Advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache" and "Wipe Battery Stats", then restore tried to restore again still no luck..I've Tried it with two different nandroid backups (that worked before when I flashed back from cyanogen to stock)
Is there anyway I can get back to my stock Rom thanks.
(Forgot to mention I've got S-off and Rooted and CWM 2.5.1.3 installed)
youll love me when i finish this,
step 1. go here ---> rom storage
step 2. select any of the zip files to flash and put it on your SD card,
step 3. like i always say. youll need to go into the recovery menu and also format the following by selecting mounts and storage before you reflash
- Data
- Cache
- Boot
- System
step. 4 flash as normal and it should boot up with stock rom if your happy with not being rooted for a little while go for a 1.72 rom, if not stick with a 1.34 (look at the set of numbers on the file name , thats the version number)
Ah you sir. Are a complete GOD!
One thing I just want to double check is which one of these do I download they're all WWE editions but I don't know which one does which..

(Only difference is the 1.72 and 1.34 and 1.72 isn't rootable as of yet is it?)
look at the file extensions, you need to flash, which means you need a ZIP file, not an exe, 1.72 at the moment cannot be rooted. so stick with 1.34.
my DHD is one of the first batch with the camera misaligned and screen slightly loose, but i love my phone so much i can live with these defects ,
i think ive done everything to my phone, (i.e brick it, flash it, create my own failed rom),, so thats why i can help haha,
Well what can I say you've made this whole scary process of me failing at flashing Roms so thank you!
hey its np , always happy to help out

I am trying to do the same thing as you. I want to revert back to 1.32 and get kamma's or apache14 overclocked kernels....as at the moment android revolution 2.0.1 and leedroid 1.3 are not any better than the stock one.
Good luck with that...let us know if it worked!
Hey all,
I have a new HTC Evo that I installed Unrevoked 3 root program....no problems installing it.....So I downloaded and installer ROM manager and then ROM manger premium.....no problem there either, backed up the phone and everything seems to be good......tried to add Rom's in zip file from SD card and keep coming up with Abort errors.....clockwork is running fine to my knowledge...
read a few threads and add in Unrevoked forever....Installed with no problems....but I still can't get any Rom's to run properly with the abort errors.....
does the SD card file have to be a certain type of file name???? and thing would be a huge help.....I am pretty sure all the software is working good.......I just can't get this to work.....I have been test it with a few different ROM'S......AND STILL NO LUCK
Thanks in advance..........
i would check to see if the file didnt accidentaly got renamed with double .zip.zip at the end. also make sure there are no spaces in the name, redownload the rom with pc not rom manager, put it in the root of sd card, go into recovery manuallly, wipe and try to flash
so root of the SD card meaning not in another file.....just drag it over to the card itself in its own file??? I downloaded the ROM originally from this website....a few different ones and no luck....
yes all you do download then drag and drop to the sd card not inside any folder, do the wipes(if using clockwork recovery wipe data, cache and the go to advance and wipe dalvik cache also) then go to flash zip from sd card, look for your zip and select it wait then reboot, first time will take a while 5 to 10 minutes is reasonable, then once booted let it settle for a couple of minutes, go thru the setup process and reboot again to finish settling everything. make sure you have a full battery in case you run into any issues you dont want your phone dying while flashing anything
Do yourself a favor and get Amon Ra recovery and stop using ROM Manager.
Get amon RA 2.3 recovery and then start flashing roms via recovery instead of rom manager. To get to recovery u can one...power off phone and hold down volume down button and press power, two...after installing a custom rom and then hold power down and select reboot alot of the roms have the option to reboot into recovery, or three...download quickboot from market and use that to reboot into recovery. Once there u can wipe parts of ur phone and also flash roms and mods and u can put the roms or mods anywhere on ur SD card. Also don't forget to make a new nandroid and a single nandroid of ur wimax keys
Ok,
So I installed amon RA 2.3 recovery ....everything went fine, Now my screens are green instead of the orange like they were....my super user icon went from ninja to skull and crossbones....and I also downloaded quickboot from the market................ and made a nandroid backup
So I went in to recovery, selected the option for zip on SD card, selected file and looks like it went with no errors.....rebooted my phone and nothing.....the rom was for a green clock app......the phone just looks stock trim

Those mods can be tricky. Open the modded zip up on ur computer and see the name of the app. U can do the same thing with ur phone if u dl astro or file exployer or root exployer from the market. Go to system then apps and find that app and delete it. The try reflashing the mod via recovery. Uve done everything right its just some apps don't change for some reason
Also don't forget to wipe dalvik cache and cache before and after flashing something
The other thing is that some user made mods use the original framework.res which will change the way your phone is themed or how it "looks"
Golden rules:
1. Always do a nandroid backup before making big changes to your device.
2. Always wipe cache & dalvik manually from within recovery BEFORE flashing any mods.
3. Make sure the mod you are flashing is designed to be used with the particular rom you have installed. All mods are NOT compatible with all roms.
4. If you've screwed up and had not made a nandroid backup before screwing up, go into recovery, wipe EVERYTHING in the wipe menu EXCEPT the SD card and start over.

Ok, so i decided to go with cyanogenmod, and i'm not sure what i did wrong, but when the phone started up all i'm getting is the Cyanogenmod boot animation, then it keeps looping that same animation. Made a different thread because i felt it was unrelated. Is it bricked or...? Thanks for any help!
how long did you wait upon initial boot? did you perform a full wipe before installing?

About 15 minutes. Nothing happened, so i pulled the battery. I realised now i probably shouldn't have. I wiped the second option, can't remember what it said again, began with a D though. I backed up everything though using clockworkmod beforehand.

If you're coming from. Stock, you need to do a full wipe (factory reset) before flashing. If that doesn't work, restore your backup and redownload (it might just be a bad download, make sure you're on WiFi with a good signal).

gotcha. yeah, it should boot long before 15 minutes.. 5-10 minutes isn't unheard of upon initial boot, though.
you should be fine, just go back into recovery and wipe everything. I've attached a tool that will come in handy for wiping, provided by our good friend amazinglarry. it is a flashable zip, so you can install it through recovery by selecting "install zip from sdcard" and finding superwipe.zip.
please note that running this script will delete EVERYTHING on your phone (aside from stuff on your sd card). it formats /system , /data , and /cache.
so:
-download this attachment, place it on your sdcard
-reboot into recovery and select "install zip from sdcard", then choose superwipe.zip
-let it wipe and format each partition, the phone will automatically reboot.
-reinstall CM7 & gapps through recovery
that should get you going.

Sorry for the late reply... but how do i boot into recovery again? xD Sorry, complete noob.
Right... I get into Hboot and it instantly goes onto try and update to my stock update thing i used to get it down to 1.34 (PC10IMG.zip) instantly, it wont let me go down to recovery...
ANOTHER edit - i tried it without my SD in and it worked fine - but i didnt have my back up because its on my sd card -.-
plug your sdcard into your computer and delete the img.zip file off of it
yeah... i can't really, my only means of accessing my sd card was through my phone.
I tried looking in the forums but I did not find my "special case".
the thing is, I first installed "ClockworkMod Recovery" and that was perfect (I even make a backup, I have it in my PC).
then I downloaded "MooDeD AOKP [AXP][][1.0][RC1][][PREM].zip" and put it in the sd card
Turn off your Xperia Arc.
enter Recovery Mode boots.
Wipe Data/Factory Rest
Selected Wipe Cache Partition
selected Wipe Dalvik Cache
Selected Mounts and Storage, selected Format System and confirm the action on the next screen.
selected Install ZIP From SD Card.
Select Choose ZIP From SD Card and locate the MooDeD AOKP [AXP][][1.0][RC1][][PREM].zip.
AROMA Installer will launch.
I made the default instalation, it rebooted and stayed on a Infinite loop...
Helpp!!!!
cant make it to recovery menu either....
Does this nott need a kernel as well, install according to op of the Rom.
I am not familiar with this Rom so not 100% sure what went wrong.
When I have used custom roms there is normally a kernel to flash as well.

Hey guys,
I have a problem... :'(
I tried flashing (with cwmv5.0.2.6) either JellyBread and marcin's cm7.2 and both failed.
I did everything, I backupped all, i factoryresetted, i cleaned cache and dalvik cache.
I flashed it, it says it's succesful... Then i fixed the permissions.
But when i try to boot it up it is stuck at the JellyBread splashscreen of with cm7.2 the samsung one.
And it does NOTHING ! Well, the first time i tried to flash JellyBread it did create android.secure,
Lost&found and somthing else but that was it.
I can still boot in recovery so it's not hard-bricked or anything...
I tried restoring my nandroid backups: "Can't mount /system!". *OHNOES*
Did I just brick my device?????
I'm so desperate, i need my phone every day... OMG Hope it's not bricked!!!!!!!!
Please help... :'(
DevWithCookies
You need to first wipe everything and then format your file system to ext4. Our gio has rfs file system. Custom Roms require ext4.
First Flash This Recovery
Then Flash This ext-4 formatter
Then flash any ROM
Reply if it worked
no your phone is not bricked
so first wipe /system /data /cache and /sd-ext (but NOT /sdcard) then flash the rom and DON'T set the permission. Reboot your phone and everything should work
btw: you can't restore the backup of a stock-rom because of different file systems...
