Hello everybody,
I recently acquired a Desire HD from the market on Orange and went through all the steps of downgrading and rooting etc etc (took forever coz im a noob) and finally did all that when i ran into the dreaded *your sim card does not allow connection to this network* when i try to manually connect to 02, same with an orange sim card
So i phone orange and explain that my sim cards wont work in this phone that i paid £150 for and after about 20 minutes they said my phone was blacklisted but then 20 minutes later they said they have unblacklisted my phone.
The guy said my phone would be ready to use but im still getting the same error message when trying to connect.
Have they not Unblacklisted my phone and are just lying to me or does it take some time to take effect?
Thanks =)
just spoke to orange again and the phone is definately not blacklisted
Try the same sim card in another phone just to make sure the sim card works properly.

I broke and replaced the screen in my unlocked upgraded flashed-ROM wallaby and the unit now starts up and reports invalid SIM.
Is there any solution or should I re-flash the rom again and see if that works, hope for the best?
Try the SIM in a different (unlocked) phone, to make sure the SIM isn't fried. If the SIM is fried, you can get a new one from your provider. SIMs do get fried sometimes -- it happened to me a couple months back. Fortunately my provider (Cingular) has a shop just down the road from me, and they burned a new SIM in 5 minutes.
I apologise, I should have said
Sorry, I should have said, it does work in another machine and as I said, it did work immediately I used the xda flashing process to upgrade the ROM in this very unit before I dropped it.
Everything else in the new ROM seems to work which makes it infuriating that it wont recognise the SIM. I even tried calling T-Mobile and asking them if they could see the SIM on their network and they couldn't.
(I even have one of those SIM copying devices they send you free for some unknown reason when they want you to upgrade your service to some kind of higher level SIM card. I was wondering if I should try to use it again but as mine does work, this, like the whole copying device, seemed a bit academic)
I got a Tmobile compact IV (diamond) sevral weeks ago in nerthlands. and flash the rom successfully.
However ,there is a boring issue that the machine always went to death when the TMOBILE sim card inserted in. while i use other sim cards it can work!!
I really dont know what is the hell going on with the fuking machine. I even unlock the sim lock and pay for 15 euros!! The mater still exist~~
forgive my bad english . and anybody can help me ?
maybe you have a faulty sim card?? try another t mobile sim card - if you unlocked it and all other sims work it should be fine
Up to what state it boots up before dying.
i also got my t-mobile phone recently.
when i inserted the t-mobile sim card in, it froze the mobile while searching for network...
t-mobile told me that is because my sim card from t-mobile is not activated yet and it usually takes 48 hours before I can use it.
when did you choose to "activate your contract"? did you choose to activate it immediately?
you can try the t-mobile sim card on other phone. it must also show "limited service".
I guess the problem is not your phone.
After not paying my Vodafone bill for a few months, i got disconnected.
As my mobile contract is ending next month i decided to switch over to three pay and go, as they have very good deals available.
I received my new three sim today and tried it in an old Samsung D500 as it is unlocked and my Touch Pro 2 is locked to vodafone.
Well the D500 wouldnt pick up the three sim card, just an 'Insert SIM' error message.
After alot of tinkering with it i though 'F*CK IT'. I'll whack the sim card into my touch pro 2 and see what happens.
To my amazement, the Touch Pro 2 fired up and started downloading connection settings from three to the phone.
HOW THE HELL DID THIS HAPPEN?
I know for a fact that when i got the phone it was locked to vodafone!
Now its accepting any sim card i insert
Any ideas as to why this has happened?
Just interested as to why.
Thanks guys/gals

Hi,
I'm guessing since you are running a custom rom that your device is Hard SPL'ed ? I dont have O.R.D. , so im no expert here , but I think as a result of that, your device is now Sim unlocked .
I know this because i paid for a sim unlock from a respected developer on here who was very helpful , and when i started to run the application, it proceeded to Hard SPL my device . I have to say I hadn't expected that, and promptly pooped myself (i think i mentioned already I'm a ROM virgin ).
Anyway, everything went fine, with no unfortunate side effects, except my phone is now Sim unlocked, and ready for flashing should I ever desire to do so

Well hey, IM NOT COMPLAINING
I always thought that H-SPL and SIM lock were 2 different things (as a custom ROM/H-SPL is offered free, while phone unlocking on here is at a price)
Its just great i didnt have to pay for it
I bought a r800at off of amazon and am still waiting for a SIM card from straight talk. I tried an old (5 Years) non active SIMand it was not recognized ("No SIM" on top) I went to sam's club and they gave me a new non active SIM card same result. My question is do the SIM card have to be active to be recognized or should it "see" the card but say no service. I will not receive the card for a couple of days but I want to start the return process as soon as possible. Thanks for the consideration.
Your r800at might be carrier lock to att. Which means no simcard would work other than att you have to pay for the unlock. Or take the r800at to nearby att tore and have them unlock the device for you.
please read it all it will help explain this situation
Hi there everyone my name is Tyler. Im going to tell you my story and hopefully you can help me here we go, So i got the LG optimus g as soon as i was 18 and could put the phone in my own name. everything was perfect for about 2 months then i dropped my phone and the screen had smashed. I took it to "Century place" and there is a Russian man who owns a small store that fixes broken phones and such. i payed 200$ for the repair of the phone and when i got it back it was in airplane mode i took it out of it and i had service everything was fine! i had the phone on for about 5 hours and it was working good. i went to bed and i woke up at about 3am and i decided to check my phone ( i keep it in my pillow case) and when i pulled it out i saw that i had no service. i was very confused and restated the phone and my service was back. In the morning i woke up and grabed my phone and bam no service again! so i re-started my phone again and it didnt work this time i still had no service. I tryed calling customer support and doing everything they said. and when i turned my phone on with no sim card in it the phone wouldn't even tell me i had no sim card. it just says no service it does not promt me to enter my sim card or ask if i have a sim, nothing just no service i cant even make emergency calls with my sim in or out. my phone was never rooted or unlocked and im very confused. can i check to see if that Russian man who fixed the screen had messed with it? and also just recently i let my phone die completly and then charged it fully up and when i turned it on i had no sim card in it and it told me to enter a sim card!!!! and its never done this! sadley i lost my sim card so i couldnt enter it into the phone but about 5 hours later i looked at the phone and the little icon saying i had no sim card was gone, it just said no service again, nothing to do with the sim card!! IM SO CONFUSED, can someone please help me! i can provide pictures if that would help! i have the Bell version model # E973
thanks, Tyler
Anyone?
