I got a Tmobile compact IV (diamond) sevral weeks ago in nerthlands. and flash the rom successfully.
However ,there is a boring issue that the machine always went to death when the TMOBILE sim card inserted in. while i use other sim cards it can work!!
I really dont know what is the hell going on with the fuking machine. I even unlock the sim lock and pay for 15 euros!! The mater still exist~~
forgive my bad english . and anybody can help me ?
maybe you have a faulty sim card?? try another t mobile sim card - if you unlocked it and all other sims work it should be fine
Up to what state it boots up before dying.
i also got my t-mobile phone recently.
when i inserted the t-mobile sim card in, it froze the mobile while searching for network...
t-mobile told me that is because my sim card from t-mobile is not activated yet and it usually takes 48 hours before I can use it.
when did you choose to "activate your contract"? did you choose to activate it immediately?
you can try the t-mobile sim card on other phone. it must also show "limited service".
I guess the problem is not your phone.

I broke and replaced the screen in my unlocked upgraded flashed-ROM wallaby and the unit now starts up and reports invalid SIM.
Is there any solution or should I re-flash the rom again and see if that works, hope for the best?
Try the SIM in a different (unlocked) phone, to make sure the SIM isn't fried. If the SIM is fried, you can get a new one from your provider. SIMs do get fried sometimes -- it happened to me a couple months back. Fortunately my provider (Cingular) has a shop just down the road from me, and they burned a new SIM in 5 minutes.
I apologise, I should have said
Sorry, I should have said, it does work in another machine and as I said, it did work immediately I used the xda flashing process to upgrade the ROM in this very unit before I dropped it.
Everything else in the new ROM seems to work which makes it infuriating that it wont recognise the SIM. I even tried calling T-Mobile and asking them if they could see the SIM on their network and they couldn't.
(I even have one of those SIM copying devices they send you free for some unknown reason when they want you to upgrade your service to some kind of higher level SIM card. I was wondering if I should try to use it again but as mine does work, this, like the whole copying device, seemed a bit academic)
Ok When I Turn My Dash On Now I Get A Screen That Say ..sim Card Is Missing Or Is Invalid...i Even Tried My Wifes Sim Card Does The Same Thing...any One Got Any Ideas...my Other Dash Works Fine.....please Help I Tried Reboots And Different Roms...etc...still Does It Seems Like The Phone Isnt Reading My Sim Card..the Phone Is Only 1 Month Old..
Are you sure the phone is SIM unlocked? Or if the SIM card is the right one for the phone? There's really only one correct way to insert a SIM card....Are you sure this isn't an ID10T error? PEBKAC error maybe?

I have the same problem. When I was running WM6, I would get this error multiple times throughout the day and I'd have to turn the PHONE function off then back on or sometimes I'd even have to do a soft-reset to get my Dash to recognize my SIM. Now that I have flashed my to Kavanna's WM6.1 I only get this error once a day, but I'd like to know how to stop it from happening.
Network: T-Moblie
Bought From: Ebay
Branded: Yes
Sim Unlocked: No
App Unlocked: Yes
WM 6.1 Standard
Radio Version 4.1.13.51_03.07.90
RIL Version 2.002
CE OS 5.2.19700 (Build 19700.1.1.0)
Thanks in advance.
If you have not exchanged your SIM in a while it could just be that the SIM is old, yeah it happens. It is free to swap out your SIM card at any T-Mobile retail store. I had this problem about a year ago and I simply went to T-Mobile and they gave me a new SIM (they just copy the contents of your SIM to a new one and program it with your number. Solved my SIM error message.
Also your SIM may be inserted wrong, it could be dirty (the contacts can 'gloss over') or there is dirt / dust in the SIM holder.. blow it out.
If all the above fails then it is the device, if under warranty have it replaced.
I had the SIM card replaced by T-Mobile about a month ago and that solved the problem for a couple of days, but now it's back. I made sure it is aligned right and clean.
Any other ideas?
The reason I say this is a weird situation is because I'm actually using an old Suncom SIM card. My girlfriend's phone finally died after going through numerous drops/abuse for the past few years, so I was going to give her my old Dash. Now, the official ROM does that "network is locked" thing, so I figured I would a custom ROM. Well, I was able to start up the phone successfully and use it fully with the Suncom SIM inserted, but it does not find the T-mobile signal.
Is there a way around this, or is she going to have to go to T-mobile and have her SIM converted over to a T-mobile one?

is your phone sim unlock? In order to use other provider< you phone must be sim unlocked>
good luck
That's the thing though, it's not being used by a DIFFERENT provider, but actually by the SAME provider. The only problem is that the SIM card is from the old company before the two merged, so I'm guessing that makes a difference.

Maybe as we have company's that use same carrier yet the sims can't be used without unlock phone.
Eg: BT, Asda both use Vodaphone yet can't have a Vodaphone or Asda SIM in a BT phone without unlock...
I bought a r800at off of amazon and am still waiting for a SIM card from straight talk. I tried an old (5 Years) non active SIMand it was not recognized ("No SIM" on top) I went to sam's club and they gave me a new non active SIM card same result. My question is do the SIM card have to be active to be recognized or should it "see" the card but say no service. I will not receive the card for a couple of days but I want to start the return process as soon as possible. Thanks for the consideration.
Your r800at might be carrier lock to att. Which means no simcard would work other than att you have to pay for the unlock. Or take the r800at to nearby att tore and have them unlock the device for you.
Okay, first a little prespeach. I bought used LG G3 phone (which is working perfectly btw) in my born country (Bosnia), and used my SIM card without any issues, signal always was full and even I used internet without any problems, that was like 1 week long. Cause I study in diffrent country (Croatia) and I had to go, I inserted my other working SIM from that country and signal appears like 10 seconds and than searching for signal. First I thought it was damaged PIN connectors but than I insterted again my SIM from my born counry and it again was working fine for whole day. Then I went to that carrier (in Croatia) to replace my SIM card (I thought maybe SIM damaged), but when I inserted that new SIM, everything was same. I tried to buy other carriers SIM cards from Croatia, but everything was same, signal is there for max 10 minutes and than there is sometimes warning sign that said: Please insert working SIM card and phone must restart and when it restarts and again searching for signal. Currently I'm in Croatia and using my SIM from Bosnia (in roaming) which is working perfectly without any signal drops and searching signals. Before this phone, I used S3 Neo dual SIM and both cards worked fine without any problems.
So, my problem is not damaged pins, cause my SIM card is working perfect (from Bosnia) but any SIM card from Croatia is losing SIM signal. And my phone is unlocked (I think so).. Any advices what to do, or to go to the phone repair shop? Thank you!
