hi all,
i am currently using defy with the leaked GB 2.3.4.-134 from previously 2.2.1-155. which is my favorite froyo build to upgrade due to (for me) its best battery life conpared to 179
all is working good but i have one issue with this, the in call volume is way too low even when i max out the volume settings anx use the brightest voice quality option. I have read around and this seems to be somewhat common accross models that upgrades into Gingerbread, not limited to defy only. Nobody has posted about it in the forum, so am i the only ones experiencing this? all other sounds is loud enough, just the incall volume, i recall my froyo have an e,xcellent in-call volume.
at first i thought itwas the greenbread mod for the camera ( which render my live wallpaper to FC ) but after i reflash 155, then GB 134, the probkem was there prior me installing the greenbread moxd.
then tried CM7 rc1v2 and the problem remains. no mention about that on the CM7 Forum as well.
any help for the problem guys?
an update,
look into some forums an decided to purcahse an app called volume+(can i mentioned an paid app here for non commercial reasons?) and doesnt do anything to my problem, still no change to the in call volume.
Don't know about GB, but you should have no volume problem w CM7.
Just make sure that you do a factory reset from STOCK recovery before flashing your 155 Froyo.
I did a full sbf flash on all of my froyo with a stock recovery wipe prior to it. so what I did was full wipe, flash 155 frying, root, install 2nd unit, and then install either cm7 or 134 via 2nd unit recovery. The problems exist in both, but when I am in 155, in call volume is loud. I am having serious trouble pinpointing the source of the problem and have yet find any fix.
Try Audio Manager pro. It's a paid app though, but you can see all the volumes controls your phone has to offer and adjust them accodingly.

Hi ll,
I really out of ideas here .
I was running Pays 1.9 Bravesoul ROM without any issues for about 4 months on my unbranded Desire(HBOOT 0.75)!
Today I decided to update to Froyo.
I used Rom Manager to upgrade to OpenDesire 3.03 and Radio 32.43.00.32U_5.09.00.20.
Every thing went well, except that I noticed that the MIC doesn't work at all.
Not when I make or receive a call, Not if I try to Mute/Unmute it, Not if i try to Record sound, or Video or WHATEVER!!! The only way the other side can hear me is trough my BT headset.
So I tried to use the LeeDroid 1.7a ROM but same result. Also tried to use different Radio - 32.42.00.32U_5.09.00.08.
I then Nandroid restore to my 1.9 Pays rom (Wiping Data+Cach+ext), but still doesn't work. I tried different Radios:
32.37.00.32U_4.06.00.16_2
32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2
32.26.00.24U_4.04.00.03_2
same thing...
I finally Unrooed my Desire to v1.15.4 Radio 32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11 without any luck!
So I'm pretty hopeless Please if someone also have / had this issue, Please share!
Thanks!
sounds to me like it's broken mate
i know it's coincidence that it broke as you changed ROM but if it doesn't work on anything there's no explanation
have you tried a hard reset + clearing caches?
if you have then unroot your phone, put it back to your original RUU for warranty purposes and sent it back for repair
by what do you mean Hard Reset?
I wiped all data, I've changed roms.
Currently It's unrooted...
Is it possible for the Radio update to do this? (all the updates went without a hitch)
Or maybe the OpenDesire ROM (I see that v3.03 is removed, do you know why?) did this?
There is no way it a coincidence. I making phone calls all the time, The update took me about 15 min, after which I tried the Video camera and noticed there was no sound...
Thanks!
well, I noticed that the mic works, but extremely week! I really need to shout in order to hear a whisper... I do this in recording...
I'm starting to believe that maybe it's the mimbrein (Or the piezzo) that is ruined inside the mic...
Is it possible to control the gain in software? (Is there still a chance that the S.W upgrade caused this?)
Hello Everybody,
I seek your help,
I have my HTC desire for since June 10, it was with Android 2.1 and was working very well, On the 14 August, I've updated it to Android 2.2 (Froyo) but since then the internal speaker ( the one for hear phone conversations) isn't working any more.
the external speaker (on the back) is working and the hands free earhead is working as well.
I've done a hard reset without success.
Did it happen to any one of you? any ideas how to solve this problem?
same problem
I have the same problem as you with the internal speakers.
in addition my status led doesn't run since the update...
I have the same problem after updating to froyo. Any solutions?
No. I have discovered some other problems. For example the camera suddenly doesn't work and also the ear speaker (for the sound while phoning).
I have sent my phone for reparature back.
Anybody ever hear anything on a fix for this? The "real" RUU for 2.2 ran and put 2.15 on, which now seems impossible to remove. I have downgraded the radio before to fix this problem, but this new radio included in the RUU won't downgrade using any of the previous methods.
Hello everyone,
I've been experiencing this problem since I flashed the latest LeeDrOiD ROM (3.0.1) and kernel (3.0.1), though I don't know if it's a ROM bug or a HTC Sense 2.1 bug.
When the energy saver is activated at 15% of battery, a notification popup appears, notifying that the energy saver is activated (it's normal till here), BUT the phone starts ringing as well ! (with the incoming calls ringtone) And it's impossible to disable the ringing unless I play another song on the music player, or shut the phone down, or receive another call/message that would make a sound. When I lower the volume, I don't hear the ringtone, but as soon as I turn it up, the ringing is still there.
I don't see such an option in the settings, and it never happened before, so do you have any idea on how to prevent this ?
The reason I'm posting here and not in the development section under Lee's thread is that I have less than 10 posts so I can't post there, though I suspect a ROM bug, since I don't remember facing this problem with Revolution HD 5.1.x which is also based on the latest HTC Sense version on Gingerbread for DHD. (but I didn't see it reported in Lee's thread either so... I don't know, really)
Thank you for your help !
Have you set this tone / tune as you default notification sound? Try changing the notification sound (of course, if other notifications don't make the same issue you can rule this out).
I haven't seen any other instances of this and didn't have this issue when I tried LeeDroid so I think it just local to your phone.
If above not work or is not relevant try re-flashing the ROM over the top without wiping anything.
If that doesn't work you may have to re-install ROM WITH a wipe of everything (you do that first, before first installing LeeDroid ROM?).
Thanks for replying. It's indeed not set as the notification sound.
The first time I flashed the 3.0.1 LeeDroid ROM, I did a full wipe, and yesterday I reflashed the ROM without re-wiping but it didn't solve the problem. I wanted to avoid having to full wipe again, but if it's the last resort... x_x
I also used No-sense ++ v1.2.3 so I think I'll reflash using the newest version 1.3 of No-sense ++, see if this changes anything..
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
The bug vanished after I flashed Leedroid Rom 3.0.2 and No-sense++ 1.3 (without full wipe)
Guess it was a random glitch !

Clean flash (first flash actually: stock -> rooted stock -> wipe -> cm10), restored apps from google. Speakerphone volume on max is very quiet. I searched CM10 dev thread and didnt find anything, google didnt find anything, so it may just be me.
Anyone else?
Me as well

I'm having the same exact issue, on a Sprint HTC Evo 4G LTE. I think it is CM10, not the phones... I have seen speakerphone issues mentioned here and there. i just flashed last night's newest nightly, and this just started happening. Previously I was on one from late September, never saw anything like this. I may have to rebuild with an older nightly. I also may try some equalizer stuff I have heard mentioned elsewhere. No specifics, just tweaking equalizer settings to try to boost it.
I recall reading that M2 had addressed the volume issues, which is odd as I've seen additional reports of the issue in subsequent nightlies.
Is there a solution to this?
I also did a clean install of CM10 on my LG P990 and install GApps. The speaker volume is very low even at max. Is there a solution or path that can be tried? Thank you in advance.
I have the same issue on 10.1 nightlies with my HTC One XL. Anyone found a fix yet? In-call earpiece volume isn't very loud either.
Have there been any solutions found for this?
I'm seeing this on my Note2 with a clean flash, and continuing with each nightly i try...
Hello @ all !
Since the update to Android 6.0 there are no more sounds.
Everything in connection with sound don't work. When i change volume level, there is no "beep" ton.
Also i can't call or can be called. When i try to call it freeze, only power menu to restart works. When somebody trys to call me, it's like my phone is off, but it's on.
I am registerd to the network, so i can send and reach sms / use the internet.
I tried the ROM from Leedroid , ViperRom , RevolutionHD and MaximusHD. ( FULL WIPE etc. i tried every option.... )
When use the CandySix Rom, i have sound and i can call...
Would be great if anybody could help me.
THX A LOT!
I think I may have the same issue. I purchased a used M9 of AT&T variant. I know it had sound as the first time I booted it I heard the ATT boot sound. I never used the phone though and I immediately entered fastboot and changed it to a developer edition (the phone was already s-off and unlocked) I then installed LeeDroid via TWRP. The rom works fine but I have no sound at all from internal speakers or headphones. I also tried ViperOneM9 with the same result. I have not yet tried CandySix, but I will.
The only thing that is different fro me is that I don't have a sim yet for my carrier so the phone isn't yet registered. It is on wifi though. No sounds work at all. Touch sounds, volume rocker sounds, notifications, music also doesn't play from mp3's I have on my sd card (they actually don't seem to even start as the time counter doesn't ever start even after hitting pause and play)
Any Ideas at all?

Take a look over in the LeeDroid thread. You need to flash the latest firmware before installing the HTC MM based ROMs.
it's awlays common sense to read the OP. especially when there is a major upgrade like from lollipop to marshmallow where the whole firmware is changed/modified . be always sure to run latest firmware when trying to use latest roms. aosp/cm are a different story, for them it doesn't matter if lollipop firmware or MM is used
