You works play with the setting, you might like smart ass governor our conservative, just try setcpu.

Your question is very vague. Best settings for what? Best settings for performance? Best settings for battery life? Best settings for games? Best settings for productivity?
It varies depending on what you want out of your phone. To each their own.

[Q] Trickster Mod settings

Hi, I just want to ask what is the best setting on trickster mod for LGOG? Thanks.
Which kernel do you use? I guess stock?
I played around a little bit and in my opinion default settings in terms of performance/battery ratio is hard to beat.
I use liberty kernel from SAVVY Rom. There is Over clocking in it.

[Q] Best settings after root.

I have successfully rooted my phone. I am on Dark Stalker Version 4 and I am just wondering, what are the best setting post root to maximize out Note 3. I am not getting good battery life. and I just want to make sure I have everything set up the best way. i want to the app list and froze all the apps that aren't needed. I still don't think I am running at maximum capacity when I look at the benchmark scores others are posting. I have searched high and low, and I haven't found anything that tells you specifically the setting needed to boost your phone to maximum levels. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

[Q] Bonuzzz's OC Kernel synapse profiles

Thought if anyone found their perfect settings on bonuzzz's oc kernel, they could be shared here. Really, the reason I started this thread, is I have no idea how to set these settings. I'm looking for a balance between performance, and battery life, (isn't everyone ) but I have no idea where to begin. Seems to run better with default settings, but I wonder what optimized settings would feel like!

Performance Control app, overclocking

Has anyone tried installing the Performance Control app and messing with the CPU settings? Is there any reason why this shouldn't work? I tried searching but didn't find any info on this. It might be cool to have a possibility of overclocking the device, or potentially underclocking it to improve battery life.
I'm using the latest Slimkat, and I love it. Haven't tried CM yet.

With our luck, the chances are none of the CPU governors are built in to the kernel other than the most basic. If you have the knowledge, build a governor module and try to make it work with one of the performance control apps. I have posted instructions on how to build a kernel module over the android development forums.

It requires kernel that supports overclocking. We dont have that yet. But overall this phone is pretty fast. Id be happy if we could one day have a fully functional camera and nfc.
Why would you want to overclock??
I agree that an overclock for this phone isn't necessary. It's not like, for example, the HP Touchpad, which greatly benefited from it. I was just curious if it was possible.

How do I tweak custom kernel for best performance and good battery life?

I use Elementalx custom kernel. All the things in its app confuse me. The only thing I understand is setting min and max CPU rates. I did a lot of searches on what everything else is and what to do with it, and nothing made sense. I need an explanation in layman's terms. Any help would be infinitely appreciated. My device stutters a lot and I don't get very good battery life.
You can take a look at this thread

There are a lot of basics and information.
I run EX too and leave the default settings as is. Flar knows more than me that's for sure!

Just leave the default settings as they are. The kernel devs know what they do.
I would recommend testing all kernels and choose the one that fits for you and your usage.
For me mvk is the best but I know people were mvk is not fitting their usage and they swear on francos or elemental or....
Test them all and find the best for you.
I usually turn off zram as this phone has so much ram it didn't seem to need it. Had no noticable issues or anything.
I thought leaving everything at default is the best thing possible for this phone, at least Flar said to not use any other governor other than default sched anyway. Phone is smooth enough for me to not tweak anything anyway. That was the point for buying this phone at first place, leave Google to do their optimisation and sorts so we can simply start using it and save time.
Use the "L speed" app by paget96 in the playstore.
