Would you trade your INC2 - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

Just curious to see if any of you would trade your inc2 for a droid charge.
Why and why not?
Reason being is that I bought a charge, great phone good development (I'm not going to do a versus battle here they are both great phones but suited for different people) but it is just too bulky when in pocket for me at least so I'm thinking of maybe selling it and getting the inc2 or maybe just trading it with someone, of course it would have to be a local trade.
Let's hear it.

lol hell nah Charge doesn't have one AOSP GB. I got my SRSWOW sound so I don't miss Voodoo Sound that much either.
Samoled is overrated. I've used it for more than a year and I like the screen on Dinc2 better. You wouldn't see the true awesomeness of Samoled when the brightness is 100% but I would never use Samoled at 100% cause it's too bright.

Nope dinc2 does anything I need

Charge also does everything I need, I'm just not liking the bulkiness of it. I do like the size of the inc2.

I'd actually trade for a thunderbolt, mostly because it basically the same except 4g and screen size, AND ROOT! The battery life isn't a problem for me.

Well the charge has root and SAMOLED screen which is a beautiful screen plus my battery lasts me all day without problems (I do not have 4g in my area so this is only in 3g and wifi). I don't know much about the TB but all I have heard is that battery life is horrible. Once again I thought about that too but it really comes down to the smaller phone.

Never. Having come from a Fascinate, I'd never own another Samsung, just too many issues and to me, the Charge is just too big. The Inc2 is absolutely perfect.

I would consider it as I'm not a fan of sense ui my whole thought process was root and Cm7 it but root is taking longer than I've seen on any device however I'm still very happy with dinc2 without root I am having withdrawals

As far as I can tell there is no issues with the charge. All is smooth and and issues free with a custom rom, I never actually ran it stock.

If I could get my Droid X back again. YES!!!

No I love the Inc2. My mom has the Droid Charge, and the roms and glitches in their GB roms are too much of a problem if I were to trade. Besides, the Inc2 is incredibly light, perfect screen and great roms!

There are a few bugs on the GB rom but nothing too bad, and yes you are right the inc2 has a great screen size and weight. I run a lot and I usually have my phone in my pocket playing pandora so the charge big for sure.

Charge is a good phone when rooted with the ext4 lagfix. I love my inc2, but a Charge wouldn't be a bad phone for someone to pick up if they're into flashing ROMs and such
Stock to Stock, I'd take the Inc2 every day and twice on sunday.

This phone already feels as if there is a custom rom running on it. But I still want root. With the Fascinate, I was addicted to Odin and flashing every twice a week. That's what I want with this phone, and that's why I would only trade for a tbolt.

I love the build quality of the Dinc2. I too came from the fassy, it felt like a toy compared to the Dinc2.
VZW sent my Dinc2 with the extended battery... It adds a little depth, but man this thing can run forever.
When I was offered the trade in options, I actually asked for the Charge. The rep told me I would have to wait 2-3 extra days and he would call me back. This all went down on 7/28 - AFTER VZW pushed the OTA fix for fassy. I said screw it, send me a Dinc. Very happy with my decision.

I love mine but I'd trade today for a Charge for the resale & 4G!
But if I had Sense 3.0 or CM7...
It'd be a no go!

I traded mine for a Thunderbolt, after the first week I wanted my Inc2 back.
The bolt is on Craigslist for trade. For some reason people keep thinking a Droid x would be a good even trade.

The speaker phone of my Dinc2 really sucks compare to the Fascinate it replaced, we really need root for the GB 2.3, don't care about custom ROM but I want to use my Ti Backup Pro. LOL

just switched from Bionic to Dinc2, here's why

I have been a long-time iphone user, but got tired of the limits of ios. My first droid phone was the Infuse, and I really like that phone, but switched to Verizon recently so I bought the Bionic.
The Bionic was slower in every respect than the Infuse. I was big time disappointed in the screen door looking screen, and the fact that I couldn't keep apps from disappearing.
My wife at the time was making her choice for a phone (she had an iphone 4 on att) and I suggested the Dinc2. She brought it home and I really liked it. Once I began researching the dev support for this phone, I decided to return the Bionic and get myself one.
Long story short, I have now tried many different roms, and I am really enjoying this little phone.
At the end of the day, I wanted a phone I could tinker with. And this Dinc2 delivers in spades. Plus, I really enjoy Sense.
I would like to thank all of the devs for the depth of support on this little device.
It may sound crazy to some that I "downgraded" from the Bionic, but trust me- the Bionic has nothing on this phone.
if your incredible2 is anything like mine you wont be disappointed, this is by far one of the best phones anybody can own.
it does have have a crappy speaker in my opinion but if you install any of the custom kernels like this one:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1180085
your invoice calls would be a whole lot better and also the battery life
FYI, make sure its a Sense kernel.
HTC FOR LIFE!! Seriously HTC phones are the nicest phones I've played with. I'm not liking Motorola, and I think Samsung looks like cheep dollar store crap. HTC seems to have it figured out as far as quality of technology is concerned.

Thinking of Trading my Droid Charge for Inc 2...

Hey everyone, I'm considering a trade to a Inc 2 from my Droid Charge and I was wondering if you guys/girls could help me make up a decision. Let me know what you think I should do.

I have a charge and my mom has an incredible 2. I personally like the charge. But the incredible has better build quality and the software doesn't lag as much.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
Yea HTCs have the best hardware and mine lagged alot until I loaded a rom onto it.

One of my previous future sailors got the charge... Came back off leave and played with my inc 2 and switched right away. He says the inc2 is 1000 times better
Sent from my Mikrunny'd Vivo_w
Depends on your priorities
The INC2 has a better build quality, a better stock experience (i mean, touchwiz vs sense is a no-brainer) and you dont have to convert your partitions when going from mtd to rfs roms and whatnot
However, the charge has a better screen (not saying the dinc has a bad one, but the charge is just better there) and it has 4g. If you have 4g in your area then that'd be the only reason to keep the charge imo
also our AOSP roms work completely

Evo 3d's 50hr+ battery life...

My dad has the evo 3d and me and him are always clashing and im always looking for ways for my E4GT can win the battle lol.
I think Evo has it in battery life category, my dad just flashed a rom called mean rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1466362
and that thing is amazing!
my question is, is the reason why our ics roms have terrible battery life because we dont have a official ics kernel from samsung?
i think you pretty much answered your own question
man eff the evo 3d! worst piece of crap EVER! NEXT THREAD!
I got decent life from FD26. It isn't quite as long as GB was but it's hard to really compare on a 3800mah battery. I still get all day and only need to charge if I rampage on my phone.

I'm no evo fan either I just think it was pretty amazing that my dad gets 17 REAL hours of use without a charge
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
My Mom is running the same rom. She can go 3 days without charging.
And thanks for letting us know the 3D is the worst piece of crap ever. Don't understand the immature posts some people give.
Back on topic, give it some time. When source drops there will be more development toward kernels. Not sure if we will see anything close to the rom on the worst piece of crap ever, but we do have some talented devs. Patience.

3 DAYS?! I've always heard that the Evo 3D was a flop... but apparently not.
My experience with the 3D was not good, then again I didn't do any rooting or use any custom ROMs. My overall opinion of the phone was bad from the way it felt to the gimmicky 3D stuff.
But it's all a matter of preference. Some like HTC and remain loyal to them, others like and remain loyal to Samsung or Motorola, or Nokia or even Apple. Personally I'm loyal only to myself and will pick whatever phone I like best regardless of anyone else's opinions or experience.
Im a heavy user and when I had the 3D and a 3500 mah battery I could pull almost 2 solid full days.
It was a cool phone.
But the E4GT is much better IMO. Better screen, camera, processor etc.
Just my 2 cents.
Sent from my Epic Touch using XDA Premium App
Agreed, I think our ET4G are the best on the market atm. Can't help but be envious of the battery life that the dev squeezed out of that rom. As far as my Mom's battery life, she has gotten 3 calendar days out of it. Not necessarily 72 hours. Not bad though. It keeps her on the android bandwagon instead of going to the dark side.

I had the evo 3d with senseless rom and a 4000mah battery. I tried very hard to keep the screen on and use the phone till it shut off. Lasted 15hrs. With normal usage I charged it about every 2.5 days. I really enjoyed the phone whether it had 3d or not. It was fast and decent sized. The 3d was over rated and the rest underrated. I'd still have one if I could explain to the boss lady why I need a bunch of phones.

I remember when my Evo 4G was brand new almost 2 years ago. It was the thinnest phone I had used at that point. It was so fast and perfect at everything. Putting MIUI on it made it even better. I've had my GS3 for a week, and I can't believe how old my Evo 4G feels when I use it now.
Oh, well. On to bigger and better things.
I had the EVO 4G and the EVO 3D.
SGS3 is rooted a few days later from June 21. Now running Blazer rom and ICS Domination Theme.
Rom dev is kinda slow around here but this phone is not even a month old here in US. MYN is developing some Warm Roms for this phone.

Got my OG back in March of 2010, loved that phone, by far the best I ever had (hell just look at my name) , flashed a new rom on it weekly. The first week after getting my SG3 I am like...what evo?
I had my evo for 2 years and I still can't part from it when I got my s3. I'm going to make it my mp3 for my car. Lol

I too was worried on the 1st day, then was over it and rooted the next day. Threw on TB and Droidwall and froze a lot of the bloat. Ran really smooth. Personally, I knew I wasn't going to keep the phone stocked forever. Sooner or later, its going to get rooted. In regards to the what if I need to return, my personal experience returning rooted phone thru sprint rep over the phone is a whole lot ez'r than instore rep's.

Don't let the launcher/dialer/widgets/keyboard keep you from a great phone. All those things are fixable; you can download third party apps to replace them. Check out the Go launcher/dialer/contacts/widgets/keyboard. There are plenty of options out there besides Go, but it's a good place to start. Seriously, the phone kicks so much butt.

(FYI) Inc 4g has s-off coming

Does this really belong here? prolly not
but i know a lot of inc2 users dont want to upgrade and loose unlimited data, and buying phones off contract can be crazy expensive to keep it
inc4g can typically be had for under $250 on ebay/cl, and now we have s-off coming (which being locked was a major point for many to avoid the phone)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1944157
basically thought id throw this out there, for those looking for a pretty good (i love it, others refuse to use anything smaller than 4.3 inch screen these days) 4g phone that can be had off contract used for just about upgrade pricing, can now not worry about having an unrootable/locked phone :good:
it will most likely be getting official jellybean at some point, which the rezound probably wont (nothing against rezound, but that could be a deal breaker for some)
Awesome, the not unlockable at all part was definitely what had me staying away from this, I knew it'd get done eventually though, thanks for the heads up.

yeah ive had the inc4g since launch...i was one of the fortunate ones (maybe 80-100?) that got dev unlocked through htcdev when the phone was unoffiicially supported for its first 10 days post launch...after that htc killed support to it...
theory was either a) verizon told them to (verizon claims our stock release software and unlock would cause issues...according to some support folk) or b) verizon just didnt want it unlockable
in any event, it ll work out in the end, cuz we probably wouldnt have soff if we had dev unlock as andy might not have had to reach out to the i/o guys if we still had unlock...and soff is so much better
but our sense4.1/android 4.0.4 update this week contained the exploit the guys needed to get temproot and soff the device supposedly :good:
as for the device?
battery life is incredible for a 4g device...on the stock battery and kernel i get 4 hours screen on time regularly (more than my inc2), in lte coverage the whole time...radios are very good
comparing it to the inc2, i guess form factor differences would be iphone 4s vs iphone5...the inc4g is narrower, but qhd res....i happen to like the screen a lot (even though some blogs killed it)....its very responsive, and smooth (even more so now on sense4.1 vs 4.0)
Keep us posted on the s-off. Thanks nit.
Thanks for the info Justin.

If anyone cares for another opinion, I can pretty much confirm Justin's take on the Dinc4. I had the Dinc2 for quite a while and absolutely loved it (now my dad loves it.) I was predisposed to the Dinc4 because the form factor of the Dinc2 was perfect. Once I noticed Justin had the phone and knew it would have great ROMs, that sealed the deal. My phone arrived THE DAY HTC removed it from their unlock tool :'(
So after 3 months with the Dinc4, I'm a little baffled by the amount of negative reviews on this phone. The screen is fantastic, the camera is outstanding, and the phone (stock) is smooth and responsive. The latest update made it even better. Battery life is great. If you like your Dinc2 as much as I did and aren't looking for a phablet size device, I think this is a great upgrade.
Cheers.
+1 I just got mine and I love it. Except for the lack of root, but like nits said that will be available in the near future. The form of the phone reminds me of the og inc and I loved that lil guy
if root ever becomes available for it, i might look around to trade my dinc2 + some cash maybe, for one. dinc2 is my first Android based phone and I really love it. I even liked it on stock, but root is just amazing lol

yeah, just fastboot a recovery and flash a superuser package and youre set (post s-off)
I think just maybe HTC threw the dinc4g a bone. They have supported the android underground in the past. They still would if very greedy wireless hadn't stepped in.
It makes sense to me, that they released an update knowing full well that we could exploit it.
Anyone else think the same?
