For HTC Users good... for Samsung Users bad.
I hope this tool would be released for Samsung devices and for the other Manufactor devices.
Greetings.

No, I did not see it before I posted. I don't spend all day/night on the forums and don't have time to read every post before I post, so I do miss a lot of what is posted. I work full time and have a life outside of the forums.
Having said that, I am sorry for posting something that already had been, it was not intentional. I did not see the previous announcement before I posted.
Regardless, it is great news and a move in the right direction.

Most of us do not spend day and night on the forums, and you don't have to either. Simply use the search function, takes no more than 15 seconds, and you'll know whether it has been posted or not. Simple and easy.

we all understand that many of us has a life outside xda developers and have no time to read all the threads that are posted on xda.
BUT therefore we have a so called "search button" where you could write some words like RSPL or HSPL and that will point you to some threads like the one's you linked to from other website's
don't understand me wrong , it isn't a problem to repost it again but please search first the next time

selfish prick. he's posted in that thread that he's busy with other life matters right now. it's not like he's on a payroll of xda-dev to get his 6.1 out. he'll have it out when he can, stop pressuring him, it won't make him work any faster. especailly not with some person woh's been on these boards over a year and has made like 30 posts and obviously not contributed at all.
I had extracted his post on 4 March 08 below reguarding your question:

But I respect his private-life... there is more in life than XDA-Developers.com, he also has to work to pay the bills of apply for jobs when he's unemployed, etc. etc.
But I'm looking forward for his next ROM, as I said... I really like his work.

Since the update to Froyo is coming out in a few days, do you expect that we'll see a fully working ROM shortly?

Exactly. I hope that this will improve Cyanogen's rom. Other than that all new roms will be based off of the new Froyo release, and as such they will work perfectly.

Are all 5 of your posts this condescending or is it just that time of the month for you??? The OP was just trying to get some active dialog going, regarding the upcoming release. Which is more than anyone can say for you. Let the mods do their job, as they are far more qualified than you. And if you're going to insist on playing moderator, try to be less of a D:[email protected] when doing so.
Thanks,

Thank you David.
Does that 10+ Post-rule also apply to adding a signature?
I kinda like the 10 post rule, BUT, it is a bit annoying, since people like myself tend to not read the forum rules, since they are most likely the same on most forums anyway.
So you read a forum for ages. At some point you choose to create an account but still just keep reading since you DON'T actually have anything to add that has not been mentioned before.
Then finally comes the day, when you tried out a new released Kernel and would actually like to add some of your experiances with it and can't post.
I don't think I'm the first experiancing that problem before, cause you didn't realize you NEED to post to be able to post.
well well, as you may think, this post all in all is also a +1 to get to my 10 posts.
cheers

There is an 8-Post rule for signatures, but for a totally different reason. Spammers were using Signatures to advertise products, adding the restriction pretty much removed these types of bots.

Apperently mike1986 “forgot” to give credits to football in the 1st post. Therefore he has received a 3 day ban.
That happened on 27th November at 17.10h. If the ARHD thread will ever get reopened, is not clear.
Personally I think it’s a big mistake to close a thread and punish all ARHD users when the only dispute is with the thread starter. And on a even more personal note I think everybody involved is acting pretty childish… Sad, very sad!

Hey mate, who made you the XDA "what you can ask questions about" bloke ? I can see your reply in the afore mentioned 1st post - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34746310&postcount=3 , again, who gives you the right, or knowledge, to comment on what someone else deserves ?
When I look in the OP from Mike's thread (and according to many - many posts in the thread, not a lot of people do !), I see that he has recognised
"•Thanks to HTC for the base firmware"
Where does this bullsh%t end ?
Football (and by no means am I having at go at him/her) would have received leaks from someone else. Not credited as far as I can see, or if he/she works for HTC, then the leak is their IP, and Mike's "•Thanks to HTC for the base firmware" holds true, although possibly tongue-in-cheek.
Anyway, I logged in tonight to find out why the ARHD, for my Aussie One X, thread was paused, and you offered no help. To me, that's not in the spirit of Android, or XDA.

completely agree...
I understand what the 10-post rule is for - it's to prevent really dumb questions getting in the way of productive work, in addition to preventing spam, obviously. But it can be a big problem for some people.
XDA is pretty much the only forum out there regarding the jailbreak for Windows RT. I'm working on some stuff, including a newly improved jailbreak, but I have no way to talk about it in these forums due to the 10-post rule. I'm a competent programmer who has been reverse engineering for many of her programming years, but can't find anyone to talk to about it. It's clear that I can make some contribution to the RT jailbreak community, as small as it is.
As for trying to get to 10 posts, how can I do that? I have an iPhone, not an Android. I don't know anything at all about Android jailbreaking or flashing, nor would I have any questions to ask about it. The forums I can post to don't really talk about anything outside of Android devices.
By the way, I ported the open source Windows debug tool Process Hacker to Windows RT. Of course, the Process Hacker forum on SourceForge has forced moderation, and apparently their mods haven't been online in a week, so my posts from this weekend haven't showed up yet. Similar situation to here, I guess, except for a different cause.
As for why I'm posting this, well, this is post number 4 out of 10...
You could try pm'ing a senior mod stating and proving that you are a dev and they might lift that restriction off you. But i don't know how long they might take to process that.

A lot of us understand the issue you are posing here. I'm a Windows programmer, but I still had to follow the 10 post rule too. All of us did. There is a forum somewhere, lord knows there are plenty here, where you can post to help someone else out. I didn't know hardly anything about Android when I signed up here at XDA, but I did manage to contribute, and with out complaining about the rules. And now, a year later, I'm a Recognized Contributor. So, it's not that hard.
Rules are rules. Whether here, or out in the real world, they still stand.
