Are there any Metal/Aluminium battery case replacement available already ?
You mean the battery cover? Nope dont think so and would be a bad move I guess with the overheating issues

Yes i meant that, and why ? Doesn't metal conduct heat better than plastic ?

The battery cover is plastic and flimsy for a reason. It's so you can pop it in and out easily. If you were to get a more rigid metallic cover, I'm sure the expeirence of replacing your battery/sd card would be infinitely more unpleasant.

i agree though, it'll probably wreck your phone when you need to remove it.

the internal components will be, the case itself may feel a bit warmer - as far as macbooks go.
yeah, removal is the only reason i cant see this being done, shame.
also consider the look and could give additional weight so become more handy and looks "metal"

Had no experience with this, but was told by the vendor that the cover will not fit those with 2000 mah battery. just FYI ;D
But color and texture break the design...
I used to use one of these: http://www.ebay.com.hk/itm/Brand-Ne...Accessories&hash=item3a6a658602#ht_5574wt_907
before I switched to the Official Samsung 2000mAh battery cover. That battery cover is amazing aesthetically and also very rigid, meaning its not a flimsy type, its like a mirror with a texture on it, and yes, it is metal, not a plastic coating.

my wife wants. to lay swarovski crystals on her phone.
she wants to do it in. a way it can be undone.
best idea I have at the moment is to purchase a zagg tablet screen protector and have it cut at a sign shop to specifically fit the battery cover.
(ive tried cutting these before and the.rubbery texture makes it near impossible to get a perfect cut).
looking for ideas on the feasibility of this idea and/or alternatives.
want to get the cover done plus crystals for a stocking stuffer.
maybe just buy an extra battery cover and use some kind of adhesive? not exactly sure what u are trying to do but it sounds like that may work.

I have a SGP case but it is white so I want to go with a black case and like the android design on those but want to make sure they dont have any flaws.
Thanks
Headphone jack seems to be not lined up on most of them
my review of it
Hi, yep I've got this case, its actually not that bad.
the best thing is that it is very comfortable to hold.
the grip on it is good. its cut outs are good, headphone jack cut out is good, but I would prefer if it was a bit bigger.
all other cut outs are perfect apart from the speaker ones which covers only a very small amount of the top of the speaker, but is not a problem.
here are a few pics.
sorry for the poor quality of pics, I was using my v. old nokia 5800.
Thanks.
I am going to be getting one and posting a review and video review for it.

I have the Androidified Case and love it! It's super comfy (like the guy above me said) and it's just made to be easy to use. My only complaint is that the standard usb cable has a difficult time getting to the port due to the design of the case. Simple fix by pulling the piece up, but I don't like putting pressure on the port.

ah that could be an issue indeed. Can't wait to test it. I only got my white case which I hate due to the apple look
i had the same problem regarding the usb, at first i had to force it in due to the way the cut out is, but after two days it seemed that the case just changed its shape and adjusted to allow the usb to fit in without forcing it. which for me I now have no problem with it.
Thanks for the feedback. I will keep it in mind while testing.

Just received two of the cases today but waiting for the third one that has the fancy designs to do it.
So far , I love the looks of the black one with the Android design on the back and inside.
Not too sure about the big area left open for the camera and flash but I will comment about all that when I post it.
Did you receive the last case ? i'm very intrested in it.
You think it still will fit in the pocket of your jeans now it is not so slippery anymore ?

Actually just got the shipping notification so I expect it here in time for a Friday review at least.
Yes it does fit fine and I like that it has extra grip on the sides of the case. That feels better than my previous one which is more slippery.
I will make sure to take enough pictures but so far I like it. I guess the wait is not bad that way I can do a review after a week of using the case to give a better perspective as opposed to a right our of the bag review.
I put my Note in a sock, it fits well, 10$ on ebay and looks not bad.
If i use this Cruzerlite, will i be able to put it in a sock again (maybe a bigger one ?)
Or dont you guys use a sock ? what do you use then ?
Anybody find any decent backplates?
I saw some on ebay that looked okay but the seemed to have a large metal middle section. If it's fake metal, that's fine. I was worried about signal issues.
I would love to have a rubberized textured backplate, like the T-Mobile Galaxy S2.
Sure, there's lots of decent backplates out there. Google it and see if anything piques your interest
It seems like current choices are:
cheap fake leather glued onto plastic:

the_buzz_man
the metal back covers have been reported to make NFC fail.
its also been reported that they do not impact GPS signal at all.
this is on the international version however.
Just thinking out loud here - will the international i9300 battery cover fit on the US LTE devices? Which part of the phone is thicker, the part that the battery cover attaches to or the phone itself? I'd love to get an i9300 white battery cover to replace the AT&T branded one I'm about to get....
I would like an oem pebble blue. Any ideas?
No you don't. It is super shiny cheap plastic. It scratches when you look at it the wrong way.

Well I bought the metal and although it looks and feels good, it does degrade the signal. GPS and Wifi seemed to be fine but I couldn't get LTE in the places I used to before.
So, I'm back to looking for a new back cover. I like the thinness of the phone so I don't want to put on a case but don't like the slippery OEM back cover. Has anyone tried the fake leather one?

I actually have the red one. the clear back side actually gets a lot of scratches and fingerprints, unless you have the white nexus 5. Its a pretty simple case and saved my phone couple of times from minor drops. ( no screen protector).

This looks like one of the hybrid cases with the clear back removed. I'd bet money that's exactly what it is. Probably made in the same factory, they just don't put the back in these. I'll never understand the allure of bumper cases. They made sense with the iPhone 4/4s but for any other phone I think they are just pointless and ugly.

Is a decent protection while keeping it close to the original phone shape and weight. If you drop it, it can take most of the impact instead of your phone taking the impact. It also protect the glass part somewhat since it is rise on the front so if you put it on the table face down it is not touching the glass.
What's up with that rectangle bit sticking out on the back? Is that for anything particular? It kind of kills the flow.
looks like a cheap imitation of the iblason one

agree, only phones with glass backing like the nexus 4/ iphone4/s need that back clear covering! otherwise a bareback bumper is fine!

Wish I would have read this post first. I bought that Stomob case. It does look good with the translucent cover but within 6 hours of putting it on I had 3 large scratches across the screen of my brand new OP7 Pro. The hard plastic cover (it isn't glass - likely polycarbonate) grinds into your screen. I'm super bummed and will see if Stomob stands behind their product at all that they claim ensures screen protection.
I've used clamshell cases on other phones for years without ever getting a scratch - this case causes scratches - avoid at all costs.

No. They're the only option for this kind of case. That sucks. Which is why I question the idea of modding other cases in order to have a bumper-only case. RS cases are just not that great, IMO.
