I ordered from Amazon this gel case and I received it today.
It looks and feels really nice, smooth and easy to pull out of your pocket, not like some silicon cases. Great fit, except the power button, I had to cut a little part but it is usable in it`s unmodified way.
More pics on my blog, my internet is acting up now, maybe I`ll upload them here later on.
Sorry to thread-jack, but I have a similar protective case for my wildfire and I find the open spaces a magnet for dust and such. How can i block dust from entering these places? I thought of cutting some small foam into the shape of the connector, and just pull it out when I need to charge.
Yeah, that foam stuff is a good ideea. I don`t think there is any other way to protect from dust, the only problem is that the foam plugs may fall off during the day so you must keep extras.
LoL! XD
Got the same case
Realy like it... gives the phone great grip, protects it... love it
Welcome to the club. Where did you get it from?
bought it in my country (Israel FTW) at some phone accessories shop
Wow. I'm using the exact same too. It's better than most silicon case.

Any chance you guys knows where to find this that shipped to Asia or sold in Asia?
Amazon doesn`t deliver there? Or is the shipping cost too high?
It`s not the exact one I have, but check this out, free shipping and they look pretty legit: http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=31331
OMG! You bought them for 5$?!?!? I bought 5 cases for 10$ on ebay. You should check it.

Good for you! But what are you doing with 5 cases? (besides selling them)
Nobody likes Neoprene pouch cases? I personally find them to be awesome shock absorbers and scratch protectors, while also acting as grip enhancers. The only downside is that you have to take out the phone to use it.

Shoving them into my arse would make you happy, I know but I don't. I'm putting on to my phone for protection from scratch and fell damage as it's made for. Learn these things.

LOL this case is really popular. I got mine from play.com blue makes the phone more stylish and the HTC logo stand out especially under lighting and sun.
And the thickness is just enough to keep the camera lense from scratches too when you lay the phone down.
There's nothing stopping you to pop out the phone to clean out the dust once I'm a while its so easy to pop it out and insert back in.

Yeah, I have a silicone case, and I prefer it to all the other types, I got mine for a fiver in town

Since the back cover for the Atrix is one piece and actually covers the sides as well, i was wondering if these can be made out of carbonfiber. Anyone have the hookup on someone that can make custom CF parts?
Getting a case that snaps around this seems counter intuitive. You'd think the incipio and spek cases would just be replacement covers.

I was on some website, I cant remember and they had other backcovers on pre-order for $20.... They all looked like a rubberized material with a sort of carbon fiber design and each had a motorola symbol in the center. Either blue, green or pink.
I believe it was MobileCity Online or something like that. Definitely only preorder status right now.
I agree the back is waaaay too slippery. I feel like I am going to drop it while typing. I am holding out for Powermat to release a back to use with the charging pad. If not, I might opt for the soft rubber battery covers.
Interesting. I'd like to get an extra one to use as a template. I think i got someone lined up for carbon fiber but i'd need to give them a template that wouldnt survive. I also have to make a minimum order of like 50, which i'd toss up on Ebay.
i'd be down for a couple if you could post some shots of what it would look like...since it does wrap around the corners it would slim down the phone too (versus case)...

I would so buy one.
I have no idea how much these are going to cost me and i wont know until i can give them a battery cover to work with.
Honestly, if i have to get 50 made (they estimated 50-100), i wouldnt do it unless the price i could sell them for was about $40. Regular cases are around $30 so $40 would be a great price. Most CF cases are grossly overpriced and i'd like to avoid that.
Also, this would be a replacement for the battery cover. It wouldn't be a case so it would still work in the docking stations.
I seriously doubt you'll ever see a carbon or any other compost back. There is just no way to mold in the little clips that hold the back on. So plastic is your only bet. you can't even wrap in carbon because you need to fold the material over the edge for a good hold, and doing so would block the locking clips.
I'm trying my hand at covering the back in 3M DI-NOC (carbon fiber looking vinyl), which should give it some grip.
I have no experience with CF but those little tabs may be moldable (is that even a word??). Ill continue to investigate. If it doesnt work, i lost nothing.
If you get that Dinoc on post some pics up here. I'd be interested to see how it holds up around the corners since it cannot be folded back inside due to very small tolerances between the phone and the cover.
having a little experience with molding and CF, it will be so hard to get a good piece with the proper mounting tabs, you'll have more scrap than good pieces. Not to mention that when it's that thin, it will probably snap after a few uses (mounting clips, not cover). CF isn't some magical material you can will into any shape like you can melted plastic. To mold in the locking tabs means the piece would be "clipped" into the mold upon completion, not a desirable situation.
I will post if i get the DI-NOC to look presentable. I know a few places sell pre-cut DI-NOC protectors, but those don't cover 100% of the phone.
Your experience with CF is a lot more than mine, so ill take your word for it, but i will still investigate because it wont cost me anything. If it works, great.
The only thing i'll put on mine is a very thin "sticker" or nothing. A case isnt going to work for me as i will be using a dock. It seems stupid to think that companies made a case when all they had to do was replicate the battery cover and then market this as "Hey look, our solution works with your dock."

Let's see if you beat me to it! See the Captivate in my signature! I can't stand how slippery this thing is compared to my Di-Noc carbon fiber Captivate.... The only advantage to it is that it works great on my Desk Genie

Hey, if you can get it done, then more power to you, just trying to make sure you have a realistic outlook going in.
I'm betting companies don't make just backs because the design is 'proprietary' to the manufacturer.

I didnt even think of that! Surely there is some Chinese company chomping at the bit to make some cash.
EDIT
A clear acrylic battery cover would look cool. Show the insides a bit. And that will SURELY be cheaper than CF.
Im full of ideas today.
I apparently fail at vinyl. I can't get it to wrap the corners nicely, the stuff is too thick.

That **** is ROUGH, let me tell you.... I have done rear view mirrors (not side view, the interior ones) and man I thought all 11 years experience I've had doing vinyl was a damn joke! I gave up on even starting the back panel, check out the thread I just created for the carbon fiber front and sides, not to mention the back panel with REMOVED AT&T logo, REMOVED "HD VIDEO" text, and the "blur" in Moto blur....

Very true ,I wondered how the people who made such a good device can make such a bad cover for the case ,problem is it is very practical and does not add size ,I have the Zenus case also but I prefer the Samsung which is falling apart!
I bought a I would recommend going for a full body skin as the full body protectors give the same protection that a case does but without the added thickness.
My flip cover went through the same as yours, I superglued it but even then it kept coming off.
BTW... I went to the samsung store to see if they had the MHL adaptor, there was a galaxy note booth and the guy there wanted to ask me if I had any grievances...
Told him about the flip cover and the lack of gorilla glass (dont you get me started on that ) The guy later came home and collected my flip cover and said its being sent to samsung and i should hear a reply from them in 2 months... have NO idea what that was about... dont use it anyway so gave it to him...
Yeah, paid $45 for mine. It's cheap junk but a good idea.

At least this flip cover back is thick enough to protect the camera lens better than the stock thin battery cover which doesn't.
Woah~ got mines as a bonus w/ phone. Going on 2 wks old and still intact but the back cover pops out once a while. Not as annoying yet, however I already ordered my Zenus leather case.

And anyone looking for WHITE S-pen replacements, then ebay seller shimshop has some.
I thought I was one of the lucky ones also but unfortunately sooner our later the case goes bad.

Yep, me too. Put it on the day i bought the note (sometime in November - release day UK) and it's still like new! Admittedly, being winter, i have only put it in the inside pocket of a jacket or coat. Maybe it has a chemical reaction to jeans!

Somehow leather products with "glued" edges do fall apart quite easily. Happens to ladies' handbags all the time!
As for how to fix it, the answer is simple: blanket stitching!

This crappy fall-apart "case" from Samsung is totally unacceptable!
They must have known they had a problem when they started to give them out free.
They should have recycled and remade the lot PROPERLY.
Miraculously from 4 ft onto concrete, and I have a chip in the top of the casing, nothing more. Anyone that deals with plastics or such like, any idea if there is something I can use to fill it? Not sure if I wanna call insurance on it as it is a minor chip, but what has been see cannot be unseen so would be willing to give it a go. I'm sure model shops would have something, but before I track one down does anyone have any ideas?
TIA

Tis only a minor flesh wound, I wouldn't worry about it. After my experience with the Otterbox Defenseless messing up my screen I stopped caring. If you're obsessive over it and have the insurance, return it. Personally though, I wouldn't until something really bad happened. Instead, I would look at this as an opportunity to see how much more abuse it could take before I really needed to make an insurance claim.

Please, don't be the guy who returns something just because you ****ed up.
I normally don't buy cases for my phones, but the galaxy nexus is so damn slippery that I just had to. Get a black hard silicon case. It will cover up your ding and keeps the slick look. I have dropped mine so many times and there is ZERO physical damage to the phone.
Yeah I never really put a case on my phones either, but this is the first time I decided to do so. I have a TPU case on it and it adds a little bulk, but I don't mind. I always have an invisibleshield on my phones though.

The bulk is pretty negligible with a phone that is already so big. I wish I put a screen protector on mine. All of my friends/family members with gorilla glass have pristine and beautiful screens after nearly a year or two of use with no screen protector.
Sadly, the galaxy nexus doesn't have gorilla glass and I have at least 4 scratches. Yeah, it sucks but oh well. Still an AMAZING phone and user experience.
If it's where I think it is, going by your description, you can just replace the housing.
Here's a video showing you how:
The housing is easy to find on eBay!
(If it's not the housing you've scratched, just ignore me )

i would just replace the housing like the video above, ive had to replace by earpiece and opening the Nexus is sooo easy and you shouldnt have any problems, just make sure you have the right screwdriver so that you dont ruin the screws for later.
Does anyone know when we could expect to see replacement back door covers on the market?
Since the V20 is supposed to be pretty drop resistant, I was thinking of ordering a spare backdoor cover and spray painting it a really cool color. You know, to add a personal touch to the phone. If I do it though, I want a spare in case I try to sell the phone or trade it in.
I doubt anyone can actually answer this, but I thought I'd try.
