Hey Guys! Just a quick question. I have a rooted htc desire with app 2 sd partition and havent flashed a rom since Leedroid's 2.2 series. I am wondering if I need to do the AlphaRev procedures for the new gingerbread roms? Or will I be able to flash it the same such as all the previous 2.2 roms?
Thanks for taking the time!

Once you're rooted, you're rooted. Knock yourself out with whatever ROM you wanna use.

Hi,
I wanted to ask some quick questions about custom ROMS.
I have the Desire HD.
Firstly, is there a review of ROMS available for the DHD anywhere?
I know there's a list of ROMS in the wiki here, but how up to date is that list? and which is better?
Can any ROM work on any android phone? or are the ROMS specific to each handset?
and is there a ROM for android 2.3 that works on the DHD?
Ive seen some guides for installing custom ROMS, but Im nervous about following them because they're not DHD specific.

Please try reading the development forum here and particularly this thread and you should be set
You'll need to use specific ROMs for each handset. I was a bit nervous at first but all went well and I'm glad I did this process because my phone is just so much snappier now!
Ok here is a review.
Leedroid is awesome.
Android revolution is great.
Cyanogenmod 7 is buggy but shows much promise for the future.

Hello I'm new with the HTC Desire and I apologize if this has been asked before. I did search but I couldn't find exactly what I'm looking for. I'm searching for a Clean Stock DHD ROM that comes with the stock Kernel instead of a overclooked one. I noticed that most DHD ROMs ported to the Desire has a modded Kernel and I had a bad experience with modded Kernels with my Aria and the Froyo ROM that made it laggy. I don't know what Radios are so if someone could explain it to me in a easy way it would be great. I have a Telus version of the Desire. Can I still flash a ROM?
Any suggestions? Thank you in advance
Wrong forum, reported to be moved to Q&A
So no Desire HD Rom with stock kernel at all?
I would be interested too... there is a post in the development section that has a list of all the good roms but not sure how clean they are

I found a link already but it was dead

Kwbr's rom is close to the stock rom.
Another choice is Rempuzzle-rom, Sense with some tweaks and stuff.
Hello,
I installed this custom rom yesterday on my Galaxy Nexus : [ROM] [4.4.2] [OFFICIAL] ParanoidAndroid 4.3 [BETA]
I saw today that an update was available on the app "Paranoid OTA" for my custom rom.
Do I have to back up my data before making the update or I am going to keep all my data ?
I don't know the functioning of this application and I am a novice concerning the root.
Thank you in advance.
PS : Sorry for my English, I am French-speaking.
Could somebody post my question in this topic ?

Thanks !
Nobody can't help me ?
Dude you don't need to backup or wipe anything to update but it never hurts to keep backups handy.

OK, thank you.
Thus I am going to keep all my personal data, it is cool.
This system of update of the custom rom is really useful. :good:
Good Day to you all!
As the thread title states, provided that I'm going to use the same Android version (4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4,...)is it possible that kernels can be installed across different ROMs?
I ask this because I'm planning to use the latest LX CM11 kernel on other 4.4.4 ROMs available in the development forums, the problem though is its modules and its overall compatibility with other ROMs.
Sorry I had to post this here because I still have 4 more posts to make before I'll be allowed to make posts on specific threads other than the Q&A section.
Thanks in advance!
