hey guys,
heres the issue im having, ppl leave voice mail for me but i dont get any notification, i checked the voice mail setting but it seems fine, what should i do?
What ROM are you using? If it's CM7 or MIUI then voicemail notifications don't work for Bell, Telus, and Rogers. I'm having the same issue and it's very, very annoying to say the least. You may also have to make sure that your voicemail number is entered in the call settings section and 'voicemail notifications' is enabled but depends on the ROM.

it is, its *86...it says its not valid
Call your own phone number, that should work.
Or get Google Voice. Try it. Trust me.
im having the same problem. i use google voice and still get the voicemail notification. I have changed the sprint voicemail number from the *86 to my phone number. didnt work. using google voice now and i still get the *86 notification. its not a really big issue, just a nuisance having to go into the settings and clearing the notification when i dont have any voicemail.
I know a lot of people really like google voice, but I actually prefer youmail. Easy to setup, simple interface. Make sure your voicemail settings match the app you are using to access your voicemail.
Swyped from my CM7 EvO
Ok before says that there is a thread out there I searched and searched for the answer or something related to my problem.
Quick Reference:
1) Upgraded to KingsRom (latest version)
2) Setup Google Voice mail
3) Not receiving voice mail alerts
4) Want to set the Sprint Visual Voice mail app back up
I had CM7 and I updated to the Kingsrom ( Gingerbread Rom), I had Google Voice as the voice mail in CM7 but had the same problem. Now if someone was to call me I wouldn't get the call but they would be sent to my voice mail. When I log into my Gmail I see the notification that someone left me a VMail, but I don't see it on my phone. So now I want to switch it back to the Visual Voice Mail system and leave as that. I went into the setting for Google Voice and switched it back to my phone but it is still not sending callers to the voicemail. It still goes to the Googlevoice inbox.
Somone please help me figure this out cause I have important calls that I need to respond if they leave a voicemail.
P.S. Also I notice that people call but it doesn't show up as a call, if they leave a message it will show up in the Goggle Voice Inbox.
***** FIXED ***** CALLED AT&T TO RESET VOICEMAIL ***** PLEASE REMOVE THREAD *****
I am using a stock GSM GNex, unrooted, and I noticed, when I receive calls, the caller does not go to voicemail and when I attempt to check voicemail, I am told that I do not have a voicemail box. This is a new problem, because before, I had voicemail and I set it up using AT&T. When I long press the number "1" on the dial pad I get a recording that says to enter the phone number of the party you are trying to reach. I enter my phone number and it says that the number is not listed. I can receive and make calls to anyone no problem, but voicemail all of a sudden stopped working. I went into the phone settings and checked the phone number listed as my voicemail number, it is not the same as my regular phone number, so I changed it to my number and I was getting a busy signal when I tried to check my voicemail after that. Any ideas??? I don't think calling AT&T will do me any good as they think I am using a Galaxy S2 Skyrocket. Please help, I need to get voicemails if I don't get to the phone in time!!
Thanks
I'm not sure how to fix your problem but, have you tried google voice as your voicemail client? Maybe you can use that instead.
To be honest I want to fix the issue and I don't want to use Google Voice. When I did a search before posting this I read a lot of people were using that service, but I want to get the real problem fixed. Thanks though.
Does anyone think the problem could be because I have a Galaxy S2 Skyrocket as my main phone on my plan, and that phone uses visual voicemail? And somehow now the phone won't activate voicemail because of that? When I dial my number and call myself, I get a busy tone.
1) Your VM number is either incorrectly programmed into the phone, or whoever set up your account didn't provision you with the VM feature. Call your carrier, they can verify with you whether your phone is correct or it's their system. No one on XDA can't help you with a shortcut.
2) Get Google Voice. Carrier VM systems are utter crap by comparison. That is the "real" solution to your "real problem".
The voicemail number is the same as it was when I set it up the first time. BTW, using Google Voice is not the "real" solution to my "real problem". If you don't know the answer to the question or you think no one else here will, you don't have to emphasize your love of Google Voice, I just don't want to use it so I am trying to figure out how to fix it. Thank you.
Oh, and maybe you should change your user name if you hate AT&T so much.
Hi,
I have an issue with Google voicemail on my Galaxy S4 running Wicked v4. I've searched regarding google voice issues, but none seem to describe what I'm experiencing...
When someone calls my phone and I let it ring all the way through, then the caller gets my Google voicemail greetings and is able to leave me a voicemail in the Google voicemail system.(works as intended)
However, when someone calls me and I manually reject the call while it's ringing, the caller gets to my carrier's voicemail....
I'm expecting it to forward to my google voicemail, but it's not working as expected.
I'm on T-Mobile.
- I have set up a google voice number that's forwarding to my carrier number on my phone.
- I've enabled voicemail on it and configured the phone by punching in the *004*##### code provided by Google voice instructions.
- I have also checked my phone's configuration under Call Forwarding to forward to my Google number when busy, unanswered and unreachable.
- I have set the "Voicemail service" in my configuration to use Google Voice.
- In the Google Voice Settings on my browser, I have set the Forwarding Options for "When someone calls this phone directly and I don't pick up" to "Go straight to voicemail".
I have also called T-Mobile and have them DISABLE my whole voicemail on the carrier. So I have no voicemail box on T-Mobile system.
Someone stated that the T-Mobile's Visual Voicemail could be interfering with the calls... but in Wicked ROM, the Visual Voicemail has been removed and not installed.
I'm at a loss... What else could I have set to make it work?
Sounds like you've tried just about everything except one thing I found helpful. Deactivate then reactivate your Google voice service through your GV settings via a PC. See if that does it

Hmm... Doesn't seem to do the trick. I'm starting to think it's something to do with Wicked ROM... but as I'm a newbie, I cannot reply to the ROM's thread. If it really is Wicked ROM's incompatibility, I may have to switch ROM... Too bad, I really like Wicked. :/
A bit off topic:
I also notice a new issue with the new Google Maps on the same phone. It's a tad inconvenience that I can't post to the ROM's thread to see if the other users of the same ROM are also experiencing the issues I'm having.
