I'm on miui with manu 2.0 kernel at the moment, and if i do a normal call the battery drains very quickly ( 1% per minute).
is there another rom or kernel which cosumes less battery or is ist normal?
I doubt stock rom consumes that much....
anyone share his/her experience?
no 1 an idea?
If you're S-OFF you can try a different Radio/RIL combination. You might see some improvements there, otherwise you could try a different ROM altogether and check the battery drainage on those.

Hello!
About half year ago I bought a new battery 1340 mAh for my Touch Diamond. Since then I could use it 2-3 days without charging.
I installed app called BattClock, which can be configured to show battery drain in mA. So I tested it with cellular radio on, no TouchFlo3D, some Today Screen Items and BattClock on. When I put my phone to stand-by mode and wake it up after 30 sec i get the current value 50 - 60 mA. Ok then I tried cellular off, all today plugins off - only BattClock on the drain value 35 - 45 mA.
I use other phone at the moment, but when I fully charge my Diamond, and cellphone function is off, also Wifi, GPS, Bluetooth OFF, TouchFlo3d Off - the battery pecent after 12 hours is 94 % without of any use.
My Device Information
ROM version: 2.03.405.3 WWE (should be default ROM)
ROM date: 02/05/09
Radio ver.: 1.09.25.23
Protocol ver.: 52.51.25.26W
I remember when I was using my default battery, I got after 2 days battery 99%.
So my question - is the battery drain value normal?
WITH ONLY CELL ON Stand-by wake up drain: 50 - 60 mA
ALL SENSORS OFF (cell, gps, wifi, blue) Stand-by wake up drain: 35 - 45 mA
And how long should the battery last without cell and any use ?
thanks,
Aleck
What battery drain values have You got with different roms?
I am sure, there are ROMs with lower battery drain results but I haven't found suitable yet.
Can anyone suggest me simple and light ROM with:
1) NO Touch Flo 3d
2) All sample videos, pictures, ringtones removed
3) FAST
4) EXTREMELY LOW BATTERY DRAIN WITH AND WITHOUT CELLULAR
5) good GPS
6) good Wifi
8) All useless removed, like help, games, getting started,
+ question: When I install a new ROM, does it have new Radio ver. also?
Hi, i'm not so regarding of the battery drain, i personally tried some ROMS but the battery life difference was not significant <but keep in mind i never tried to measure battery drain>. I currently use Gen.Y 5.5 <WinMo 6.1, Sense 2.1> and I am pretty satisfied (fast, stable and good battery life according to me).
Concerning the new radio, it is not changed when flashing a new system rom. The only way to change radio is to flash a radio rom, not a system one.
Radio also has effect on battery life. I flashed more than 7 ROMs, This one is the best http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=593678. I used 2 days without charging(900 mah battery). And standby 3-3,5 days.
BTW : I use radio 1.17.25.09. It has perfect battery life.
thank you! I think i'll soon give it a try but before that i do little more research.
1) Is it true, that some applications that worked under WM 6.1 doesn't work under WM 6.5 ???
2) What does the radio numbers mean?
Hi all,
I installed the ARHD rom yesterday and it is amazing! Truly great
I have just one small question, that I hope I can find the answer to in here: Ever since I installed this rom, my baterry just drains like mad. I assumed that installing this rom would just make my battery life better, but unfortunately not. I am a frequent Whatsapp user and I know that it drains battery, but I lose around 12% power each half hour! If I don't use Whatsapp and just use my DHD in a normal way, I still lose over 6 or 7% each half hour. That can't be right I guess?
Does anyone have any tips for me, to make my battery life better? I really don't want to uninstall this rom, cause it's simply amazing! Only my battery is just killing it at the moment. Even worse than the stock rom that was on it from the store.
I thank you in advance for your patience with me and for answering my question
Edit: I added a SS of my software information
Boot into clockworkmod go into advanced section and choose 'wipe battery stats'. This will start to give you a more accurate account of your battery life. I have read in many places that this should be done every time you switch roms. It's suggested to charge the unit fully before wiping battery stats. This has helped me when switching to various roms.
Agreed, you should recalibrate your battery after flashing a new ROM. Loads of good battery info in this thread.
Also, for me, battery life on ARHD 5.1.11 is amazing when WiFi is turned off, but uses a lot more when I'm connected to a WiFi network. Not sure why, but I'm not too bothered because I can just plug it in when I'm at home on the WiFi
Confirmed ... my DHD bat life is GREAT !! since 5.1.11 ;D
Ok guys...Thanks for the response. So charge it fully, wipe battery stats and things should go better? Sorry if I wel stupid questions. I'm a n00b in here :-D

Hello Mates,
I am using Wildpuzzle ROM v0.8, which is having many problems in its stage.
The camera fails to operate sometimes. But I do managed to make it working using an external application.
The major issue remains of the BATTERY.
Its been a disaster for me to use it when EDGE 'on'. When the downloading is taking place, this phone starts draining the battery within 30sec for each percent. Presently i get the battery backup of around 120mins max on data usage.
One more issue lies in, the battery wont get charged beyond 71%. I need to reboot so that it shows somewhere more than 90%.
I have tried to reflash the v0.8 rom but facing similar problem again.
Will Radio update be a better option?
Can you recommend any better Sense Enabled Froyo?
Is this the bug in the ROM itself?
Help me, with your suggestions.
Thank You.
Recalibrate your battery. Just perform a search on XDA, there are many guides. It cant be a bug with WildPuzzle because I have personally tested it extensively, and this issue didnt exist.
Only after a fresh flash of a ROM, I get very bad battery life, but this is normal in all ROms I have tried. After 1-2 charge - discharge cycles, it fixes itself.
But because you are facing issues like it doesn't go beyond 71%, then jumps to 90% etc - Your battery definitely needs recalibration.
Can anyone please tell me why there is very heavy battery drain which making or recieveing the calls in the Jellytime_R31 ROM? I have faced this only in this rom of all the roms (ARHD 6.4,7.1, Viper DHD 1.2.3, IceColdSandwitch 8.8, ) that i have tried
Also, in current widget, the reading never shows 0 mA even after charging it for more than 8 hours! it will always be around 20 mA.
Hi everyone,
from 1 month ago i notice very low battery life, my phone is 0% at the afternoon, i always use AK series with Paranoid ( switch sometimes to AOKP,CM and Stock ), Full disk encryption, this is normal, somebody had this problem from 4.2.2, but the strange thing is, this battery drain is high only when using custom kernel ( tried franco, Ak, and Lean), with other kernel i don't have this problem, yesterday i tried with full rom reflash without any custom kernel my battery life. i come back to home at 22:00 ( 10:00PM ) with 20% , same usage like always.
Use always 3G data on, with 50% time on wireless, all sync on , google now off, Apps timeout sync set to 1 hour
I investigate about this thing, i notice for first thing this: custom kernel is too aggressive, new interactive designed for 3.4 series is too aggressive, switch to MAX without any need ( 10-20% load ), but i don't know why battery life is so low anyway...
Franco kernel is more horrible for me, battery went down like 1%/4min ( with some sms and whatsapp )
lean seems more neutral here, but always high battery drain
Here the are some stats from this day testing ( from 100% to 0% ) (*All kernel using stock kernel configuration )
1) Stock kernel
16.44 Hours on battery
02.57 Hours on screen on
2) Ak Kernel
14.08 Hours on battery
01.44 Hours on screen on
3) Franco kernel
07.49 Hours on battery
02.03 Hours on screen on
4) Lean Kernel
18.31 Hours on battery
2.11 Hours on screen on
Anyone else has noticed this strange issue? on custom kernel i always noticed overheating too, this is very strange!
Try ondemandplus, I've had no problems with that.
Unless you just have to have facebook provide notifications on stuff disable the facebook notifications. I did that on my GNex and saw an increase of several hours to my battery life with more screen on time. I've also noticed for some reason that texting seems to drain my battery really quickly and can't seem to find a reason for this.
I know this, disabled notification stuff from day1, but the strange thing is stock kernel has no problem ,46 % with 2 hours battery on stock
Send from Galaxy Nexus with Tapatalk 2
Here is mine today. I'm running stock with Franco Kernel. Everything is syncing except for facebook. I also have about 1:30 hr's of phone calls today.
