error in recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.1-bravo-slcd - Desire General

i got this error during recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.1-bravo-slcd
what should i do now

its nothing to do with recovery, you shouldnt be using that recovery anyway as its old. unrevoked comes with a newer version of CWM
you are getting this error as you misc partition is damaged.
the quickest way to fix it is by using teppics downgrader to flash to a 2.1 eclair rom, root it with unrevoked 3.21 then flash a froyo radio then rom of choice.

internet passthrough? you mean using internet from pc on the phone via the cable or using the device as a modem?
read what i said again
with a misc error you downgrade to root it then upgrade.
if you dont want to do that then search misc error in the dev forums and good luck

thanks bro

When u have that sorted I think the desire HD rom is out now and it fits on our phone nand which means its fully on the phone and not half on the SD card. These roms have internet passthrough

any good guide !
any links for amon-ra 2.0.1 desire !
Million threads like this.
for PVT4 you need to flash AmonRA 2.0.0 (or 2.0.1), because CWM 2.5.0.7 won't work.
thanks mate ,am just not sure whether to use AmonRA or alpharev?
Well the thread was different when I wrote the previous reply. AmonRa is recovery, Alpharev is for S-Off.

amonRa is just a recovery, the only way to s-off is alpharev. Do you even need to s-off tho?

I dunno if i want to s-off ,all i want is to install custom roms !
To install custom roms you don't need s-off.
Just flash amon-ra 2.0.1 with unrevoked and you're good to go.

[Q] Desire rooted but cannot get a custom ROM to load

I have an O2 branded desire which I have successfully unlocked and rooted using UNrevoker (I have superuser icon and can access su with terminal emulator). I tried to flash a custom rom but get plenty of MISC errors so backed out. What I really need is to debrand the phone and went ahead and created a goldcard but somehow always get bootloader errors when trying to flash with generic RUU. I have also loaded generic ROM (PB99IMG_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.2_Radio_32.49.00.3
2U_5.11.05.27_release_151783_signed.zip) renamed it and loaded on the SD card but still will not flash with error wrong image. Can someone check my phone stats and tell me what image I should use or how to go about it. Thanks.

[Q's,A's,Solutions] HELP THREAD n00b friendly

I had this idea for a long time now. Questions and answers are scattered all over XDA now, so it can be difficult to find correct information even using search, as there are too many irrelevant search results.
So here is my idea. N00b friendly thread, where n00bs can ask ANYTHING. I hope that more experienced users will join me. If you have an answer and feel like helping poor n00b, just join in. If you want to abuse a n00b, well, i suppose you could create a thread called "abuse a noob" and do as you like there.
Ask ANY questions which are related to HTC Desire here guys. Battery, flashing, rooting etc. and we will try to direct you to place where you can find info or give you an answer if we know it. Do that instead of creating useless thread with just one question in it. Please, include as much detail as you can when asking something.
This is opportunity for peeps to ask questions without being sworn at, and for the helpers to earn their THANKS.
reserved in case thread successful and some faq is built.

Have you tried flashing it again? What are your attempted fixes so far?
I flashed it for the second time now and I still have the same problem.

Have you tried different recovery?

Try 3.0.0.5. It worked for me - link in sig.
It's the same one I have.
I'm using amonra 2.0.0, and it's yet to give me any problems. I must admint i haven't tried flashing latest IC.
Now even when I try to restore the backup, it doesn't work...it still gets stuck in the "why so serious screen?"

2--Is it really necessary to S-OFF?I just install some themes, new roms n games..wats advantage of it for me?
3--Also how to root desire as per latest softwares?Ofcourse my phone is rooted a long time back by me n i don remember what exactly i did? i remember using Unrevoked.I lost all software now..Links plz coz i want to root my frnd's desire with hboot 0.93.001 n amoled display..

1. You most likely are going to need 0.93 hboot, best way to do it to s-off and flash latest hboot. 2. Advantage is that you can flash different hboot and try data++/cm7 roms. Also this allows safer radio flash. S-on doesn't allow you to edit system folder when Rom is running, s-off does.
3. Look in rooting guide stickie, not much changed, you still need to use unrevoked.

Is the Insertcoin rom the right size for the cm7 hboot you are using?
If its too big you won't be able to boot it without changing the partition table.

Judging by the info he's given everything is ok.
Problem solved. I couldn't flash the ROM because I partitioned the SDcard with EXT4 directly from the computer, not via phone.
The ROM is working like a charm now. Thanks to you all for the help.

HBoot Version(s) Confusion

My brother gave me a rooted HTC Desire. When I pop up the bootloader it says this:
Revolutionary
Bravo PVT3 Ship S-Off
HBOOT - 6.93.1002
MICROP-051d
Touch Panel-Synt0101

I am under the impression that certain ROMs only work with certain HBoot versions (and typically bootloop when they don't work). I want to try some different ROMs (it came from my brother with Sandvold's 0.15.0.1) but I can't tell whether my HBoot version is compatible or not.
For example, marius.a has a Paranoid Android (Jelly Bean) beta ROM that I would like to test but he says:
Instructions:
v03 Stock hboot only
v02 Stock hboot / Jelly hboot in COS JB thread Recommended
Click to collapse
And then I found another post for another Jelly Bean build that seems to correlate HBoot variations with the size of the system partition on the internal memory.
So could someone please explain this HBoot situation for me? I couldn't find anything specific to HTC Desire or anything on the wiki. I'm fairly new to Android but run Linux on my notebook and used gparted to throw an ext4 partition onto the SD card already, so I'm good with most of the jargon.
You have stock hboot. For other go here:
www.alpharev.nl
There you have it all, without JB hboot.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Flashes and Thunders
When I go there I see
AlphaRev 1.8 is now deprecated software. If at all possible, use Revolutionary instead.
Click to collapse
where Revolutionary is a link. But that is what it says at the top of my bootloader, so I'm thinking that I don't have stock. Hence my confusion.
From the Revolutionary webpage I read:
Revolutionary will give you S-OFF either by a patched HBOOT or setting the secureflag to off on the device itself.
Click to collapse
So I'm guessing that I have a patched HBoot.which was originally "HTC Desire (bravo) 0.93.0001, 1.02.0001."
But again, I'm confused. I am not sure that the HBoot version numbers mean anything, at this point.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016084
Numbers you see mean just which version of hboot is. When we talk about stock, data++ and cm7r2 hboot we mean on partition layout of nand memory that's provided by hboot, not about number or version. That's why you see in your hboot 6.93... and it means that it is hacked 0.93 hboot. Sign 'revolutionary' means only that it is revolutionary flashed hboot with stock partition layout.

[Q] HTC Desire Bravo - Reinstallation

Hi everybody!
My GF just bought a second hand HTC Desire (Bravo). He is apparently running under a custom ROM, which apparently is not good because the phone is slow, keep freezing, stopping, so badly that we have to remove the battery to reset it each time. So we would like to change it.
Actually on the phone:
Code:
Android Version 2.3.5
HTC Sense 3.5
Software Runny ROM v6.1.1
Kernel 2.6.35
Base Band 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27
Build Number 1.27.1400.4 CL182513
SD card 4GB
When I hold POWER+VOLUME Down at, displays:
Code:
AlphaRev CM7 r2
BRAVO PVT4 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
MICROP-051D
TOUCH PANEL SYNT0101

So far with everything I read everywhere, I didn't very far. I managed to get the latest official ROM for the phone

I tried some others official and custom such as

and others, and didn't work either, saying something about problem with HBoot version.
Could somebody explain me what should I do step by step, in order to get an official or stable fast custom ROM on this so that we can use it, or eventually direct me?
Regards
Dam
Flash the stock hboot. You can get the zip or img file from the Alpharev website. There are many threads here explaining how to flash stock hboot from CM7r2 and vice versa. Just search for them.
Install latest recovery (4EXT is recommended). Wipe everything, re-partition your SD card (1GB ext4 and rest fat32) and download and install the ROM you want.
Deleted!
