Both have read speeds of 24MB and both come out on first of august. For the price you cant really go wrong and nice size also 16gb.
I really would like the class10 only thing stopping me is alot of people having bad performance with the desire. Would they be much difference between the two?
Thanks All help welcome, And I do give THANKS
No one have any info on theses?

I have used samsung alot and not had problems with them, and am liking the price of theses ones. even the sd card that comes with the desire is a samsung card, so maybe this class10 will work well.
Not sure the class 10 would be the same speed as the class 6 .. otherwise what would be the point in getting a class 10 ?
Class 10's are faster, but there are a few issues floating around .
A good class 6 will do the trick very well .

Its the write speed thats different the read speed is the same, they say on the site
Am thinking just go with the class6 that way I know its going to work.
Just called HTC and they said class 10 is not supported, they said there htc desire is fully supports class 2, 4, 6
so looks like am buying class 6
i suggest you a Sandisk's MicroSD. They are the fastest.
Higher microsd class parameter don't mean that your phone will run faster.
Some microsd have high speeds for small files and low speeds for bigger ones and others have opposite skills.
so a class2 can run more faster your phone than a class 10

i have a class 10 in mine, works fine. (this one: http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/...archsource=0&searchstring=pny&urlrefer=search )
there's also this:

no idea how good the play branded one is - but the PNY one does the job for me
when i read up it said the class was just the min. write speed. so you can have a class 2 writing as fast if not more than a class 10, its just the min that can change

Well there is obviously someone there that you talk to, that don't know s**t about they're products, Desire support class 10 with no problems.
you can read here two, and there are alot of users that can prove that class 10 is working perfectly on Desire.
Thanks guys, Yer I have seen alot of people on here using class10 fine and also seen alot of complaints about them. So I have already ordered the Samsung class6 16GB. Witch to be fair shouldn't be much difference in the two

My question was concerning my 16gb Class 6 card (which actually appeared to be corrupt/broke'd anyway)
I asked about compatibly with the Desire...
htc said:
Thank you for contacting us.
In regards to SD Cards
I can help you with that.
The card that you are trying to use is not compatible with the phone as the class is too high speed for the device to be able to keep up with the speed. I have included a link to a webpage with the sd cards that are compatible with that device.
http://www.expansys.com/a.aspx?i=196001
If you look under the accessory tab then down the bottom is compatible memory.
I trust that this resolves your query, please do not hesitate to contact us again if required.

I'm sure I read some threads about class 10's working fine in the Desire?
The link seems to suggest only a class 2 or a class 4 will work...
I'm using a class 4 without problems so far.
On a dutch board I read a guy was using a class 6 on Starbust so it should be possible I think.
I've just bought a 16gb class 4 Sandisk and the speed tests show it as being quite a bit faster than my class 4 (non Sandisk) 8gb card!
I'm using class 4, working fine
I'm using a 8GB class 6 card with Custom ROM and A2SD with no problem. Been over 6 months now.
A lot of class 10 cards have issues, class 6 seems to be the most reliable thus far. Some people have had good experiences with A-DATA 16gb class 10.
So from user experience - a good Class 6/10 card should work just fine?

For C6 yes.
For C10 Mostly yes... but usually class 10 is not really faster... so save the money.
Just my two cents.
I'm using Transcend 8GB class 6 without any problem. Try to format by gparted or similiar. Are you using it for any other purpose than storing photos, music or etc? For example for data2sd or apps2sd?

I bought a 16gb class 6 to use with data2sd but struggled as the card was broken - so i've sent it back and just have the 8gb class 2 that i got with my phone now - and on stock rom again, so it is just photos and music and froyo app2sd at the moment
basically all branded cards will work fine, the thing you shoud be concerned more onthe capacity you are gonna use. It aint worth buying a 16GB sd when u cant fill even half of it with useful stuff
If speed is your thing then get a class 4 or 6 but I had SD mounted as read only with a class 4 8 gig Kingston SD, so I swooped with a buddy of mine for a class 2 SD from a Nokia n95, no problems since then.

currently running a class 2, and i do notice alot of lag when copy and saving stuff so wanna upgrade, thinking of getting this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kingmax-mic...1AIC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1299847078&sr=8-3
yea yea, i know if t "kingmax" so it will either be crap or amazing (more likely crap)
but my question is, is it worth getting a class 10, would the htc support it, and would it be able to make use of it?
thanks in advance
I have a "generic" 32GB class 10 OEM by a local company here in Malaysia, and I must say it is noticeably quicker than my previous class 4 16GB card when used in the phone (a2sd). Transferring files using the laptop on the other hand is wayyyy faster...
Whether its worth the money over a class 6 equivalent i can't say.
Regarding "Kingmax", I have a usb flash disk of theirs and its blazing fast Lets hope they are consistent.
I use a decent Samsung 8Gb class six and I get a 10-11Mbps transfer rate, which is more than enough for me. I got the card for something like £12. My old class four used to peak at about ~6Mbs if I remember rightly.
I have a class 10 kingmax and it's working great,i'm running data2sd on it and no issues at all. But i recall i heard some ppl had some lag issues with class 10 cards (not kingmax in particular). As for kingmax specifically it's guaranteed u'll get 10 Mb/s write speed.

Mine is a kingstone 16GB class 10 and it rocks !
I have a Kingmax 16GB Class 10 and I get above 10MB/s for both writing and reading when testing using SD Card Speed Test. However, the rom and kernel on your HTC does make a difference, I think, on whether your Desire can fully utilise the Class 10. I don't think it would be worth it to use a Class 10 over a Class 6 if you're using a stock rom, but if you're using a rom with data2ext or data2sd, that uses the SD card extensively, then it'd probably make a difference.
Bought a 32 gb micro class 10 today and its acting really weird. Still have my 16gb and it works perfect.
Running stock 2.2 still, is 16gb max or what? If yes and I upgrade to 2.3 legit upgrade will it work with a 32 gb?

Class 10 no name: everything works normal but transfer is super super super slow...
Class 4 kingston: weird when I open my computer and turn on the usb connection the H drive (sd card) keeps showing up and disappearing then showing up and disappearing over and over... wtf gives?

ok so im throwing both the sd cards in the reader and formatting them. see if that fixes my problem.
if you still got the packaging and recipt you can still return the cards if they dont work
I'm running a 32GB Class 10 card with no problems. Maybe it's just your card. I had problems with the partitions on my original Wintec card and the company sent me a new one as a replacement.

I have 16GB Class 10 Joyflash (noname). Could you tell, why Class 10 "is not so good on desire z", becouse I dont understand this.
If card reader of desire is slow, on level of Class 6, if you put Class 10, doesnt change anything, but why "is not so good"?
I can safely say that my 32 GB class 6 has no issues. I've been reading on the subject and for some devices the class 10 is flaky... might just be a firware/software issue. Who knows.
But I'm ok with my class 6. Write: 9mb/s and read 24.3m/s
Ok so after everything last night I ended up keeping the kingston class 4 instead of the wintec class 10.
One thing that everyone should know if they are planning to upgrade soon and have forgotten this. The speed to write to a micro sd is slow then the speed to copy from a micro sd. This is my experience last night at least... I can copy a certain file to my desktop in 40 seconds but to put it on took 2-3 minutes.
Anyways, just be patient and go to a place you can get refunds so you dont get screwed with a bad card lol. With my experience the 32 gb class 10 wintec sucks, the write speed was insanely slow. So I stuck with a name brand instead, I really wanted a sandisk but they werent available.

Actually, my original Wintec card was screwing up and wouldn't keep the data partitions written. The replacement I got from Wintec is working the way it should, and it actually is acting like a class 10 card.

Class ratings refer only to write speed. And write speed is always going to be slower than read speed.

This AND, class ratings were documented before smartphones for the purpose of professional photography use in cameras. I have never had any speed issue with my good old class 2 card in my smartphone.

Thank You: I can confirm this.
I had to put a SD in my old DesireZ/Vision for one of my son (10 years... there's no religion....) to replace a old 4GB crashed one.
The phone is running SenseI ROM (fine ROM: a very good way to replace the stable CM7 and run ICS 4.0)
I bought on Amazon Samsung EVO uSD 16GB Class10... and it was not recognized... So I read it on the PC to see if is was good or not: it was OK!
Recovered the trouble upgrading the Galaxy S2 of the other son from a old 8GB class 4 (probably Kingston o Transcend) to the brand new 16GB EVO Class 10, and putting the old 8GBB in the Desire Z: quickly recognized and optimally mounted both cards over both the 2 phones!
But I was disappointed... more than speed performance I thought that Class 10 memory card were also better on quality, due to a more robust and stable architecture of the chips inside.... and
much more recommended for the "systemdisk-like" use on Android Smartphones!

I think most people are using a class 4 SD card, but if you want to get something higher go ahead. Something with a higher class may get you some speed increase if you have apps installed on the SD card, but if you are using it purely for storage then go with a class 4.
also some people have problems with higher class cards. there also isnt much diffrence in speed between sdcards
I have found there to be a huge speed increase in sustained read/writes. Moving movies or music from pc to phone and vice_versa.

i have a class 4 32GB no problems here, but i have heard people having problems with the calls 10 cards, i wanted a class 6 32GB but i had no luck finding one, much less at a decent price lol.
Also stick to well known brands, I've heard of problems with little known brands. I've had no problems with sandisk and adata.
Yes get a class 4 or 6.. dont get a 10 since not all devices support it.
Hi I've been looking on amazon, play.com etc for a 32gb sd which will make my desire fastest to try and keep it feeling new and not like an old phone.
There's so many different manufacturers of cards and types, like SanDisks ultra series which comes with some kind of acceleration yet is only class 6, but may not be as good as a class 10 of another brand. All the different options are confusing for me so I was wondering if I could get some advice from you guys please?
Many thanks!
i have a Samsung 16GB sd card and it work fine
i buy it on ldlc 35€
transfert rate : read 24 MB/s write 21 MB/s with card reader
but on desire its slow write 7,8 mb/s read 18 mb/s
I have two from play.com first card I used was PNY 16GB class4 witch worked great, but then wanted a class 6 and I got the Samsung 16GB class6 witch using now its superb. 7-8 write and 22mbs read.
If you want a cheaper one, go for A-Data.
any class 10 should be fine. I am using the one in my signature, no probs at all, pretty speedy and was cheap too as terepin wrote
I'm using a class 4 8 GB Kingston Japan and it works very well (I get about 8 MB/s read/write). I guess I got lucky
My A-DATA 16 GB Class 6 also working very well in desire.

Question is: What is your average use? Music, clips, pics, programs etc. And if you sync your phone and move extremely large files, I would definately go for a faster SD-card. When moving huge files, it takes alot space _and_ time, so a fast SD would be pretty relevant. They go for pretty cheap prices as well on Amazon If you look.
