My phone was working fine until evening. But when i install the new SPRINT LOVERS rom on it, it takes horribly long time to boot up and just stay on the white "HTC EVO 4G" screen for considerable amount of time. When it finally booted, i was not able to use the touch screen. It is not responding to my touch at all.
Though the hardware keys (POWER & VOL KEYS) are working fine in the recovery mode.
I tried installing 3-4 different roms but none of them helped.
Now it is not even showing the red led light on connecting the usb cable.
PLus it takes horrible long time to start up.
As i mentioned before, that it works fine in recovery mode.
And the biggest mistake i made was that i forgot to do nandroid backup and i deleted my previous nandroid backup files like a week ago.
Help me out guys, I know ur best. I am feeling like an handicap without my phone.
good luck bro!

Do a complete wipe before flashing a new rom.
Sent from my CM6.1 Powered device
If I were you I would try starting from scratch and flashing the original Sprint RUU
flash a different ROM or kernel

Remove battery and replace.
Reload Amon_Ra's recovery.
Reload a new copy of the rom and reflash. Move it to your sdcard in adb (mount, push ) or simply take the sd chip to your laptop.
You do get one shot at loading your "old rom's" apps from market, after the first invoke of market it will only remember the paid and loaded apps at closing.
Who's recovery were you using ?

Has already tried all that but even the complete fresh install didnt even work.
But my phone is not letting me install rom through RUU, It says that phone is not detected.
But when i plug in the charger, i can see the symbol of charging and usb debuging in the notification area.
I am using clockworkmod recovery
You need to switch to aman ra recovery. That will help. Clockworkmod recovery doesn't play nice with the new software and hardware and doesn't wipe as good. You will save alot of headaches by switching recoveries. Do a search on here and you should be able to find a flashable zip you can load from the bootloader.
Just rooted my new DINC, got into the main screen. Went into Clockwork and flashed a nandroid from a different device. Now I cant even get back into CWM. If I hold down and power I get hboot, but anything after that gives me 5 vibrations and blinking green lights. wtf?>
I can actually see CWM for a second, then i get the errors. Is there a bootable CWM, like the NookColor?

not really that i know of
best bet is to ruu back to stock and start over
EDIT: first link i sent wont help you
http://d01.megashares.com/index.php?d01=CHoQD3B
put this on your sdcard, rename to PB31IMG.ZIP
boot into hboot, when it asks to apply the update, say yes
give that a shot
for future reference, nandroids from phones are not interchangeable
I dont know how to use ADB, and that tutorial assumes you can run zips via recovery, which I cant...
Isn't there a PMBTG113.zip or whatever file I can boot off of in recovery that will restore my phone to stock

yea sorry, use the new link and destructions instructions i posted, should get ya running
damn, that link wont start the download
Do you have a micro sd card reader that you can put into your pc or laptop? You need to get that PB31IMG on the root of your card. Then get into hboot to flash.

Yea, I put it onto the root, applied the PB31IMG and rebooted. Same fcking problem. WTF?!?!
DroidHam,
try pulling the battery, wait around 10 minutes, put the battery in and boot the phone. Yes, it is very important to wait for that long.
Post your results if it booted or not, i had the same issue.
Also let me know if this is a refurbished phone.
ya its a refurb...
I downloaded this:
build-3.26.605.1-release-152016-baseband-2.15.00.07.28-hboot-0.92.0000_PB31IMG
Renamed it and it flashed. Then when I rebooted, it doesn't show me CWM anymore, just the HTC screen, a "popping, kind of electric noise", and then 5 vibrations and blank screen, with green blinking LED.
I downloaded the restore above, and renamed it. It doesn't allow me to flash it. It scans it, but never gives me the option to press up to flash.
Keep in mind, S-ON is now set, whereas it was S-Off before.
Previously I was seeing CWM for a split second then it would crash. I dont see CWM anymore but its still crashing at the same point.
If I copied a nandroid backup onto a different phone, it cant be COMPLETELY ****ed right? Just needs to be rebuilt somehow?
So when I put the battery back in in 10 minutes, should I reflash that RUU I mentioned above, or what?
Any ideas?? Going on day 3 w no phone......

I noticed you mentioned that while powering on you say you are holding down...down is diagnostic mode, you should be holding up to get to recovery.
After applying the ruu. Try re rooting

How do I root if i can't get past hboot??!
Sent from my LogicPD Zoom2 using XDA App
I attempted to root a new Incredible for a friend and had the same thing happen a few days ago. I was able to create a nandroid backup via CWM recovery, and then flashed CM 6.1. CM then bootlooped when trying to boot for the first time. After this point I was unable to get into recovery. The screen would just go blank and would vibrate multiple times. At one point I did manage to succesfully get into CWM recovery without the screen going blank, but then recovery would not recognize the SD card. I restarted and was never able to get back into recovery.
I then attempted to flash a PB31IMG.ZIP from HBOOT that was supposed to restore it to factory state. At this point the phone when blank in the middle of flashing and would not do anything other than vibrate when I would attempt to power it on.
I told them the phone just inexplicably died and they exchanged it at the Verizon store. Everything went perfect with the replacement phone. I figured what happened was a one time thing, but after reading this I would definately be hesitant to root anyone elses Incredible.
Do all phones have hboot?? I don't wanna get screwed. But this was sent was Asurion.... i really need to fix this. There must be a way please!!!

Just got off work... do the battery pull, wait 10 min, then the start phone see what happens.
I'm not sure at what point you are with the RUU image at this point so take out your sd card just to be safe.
You are getting into the Qualcomm diagnostic mode, which is basically 5 buzzes and then the green light keeps flashing green correct?
I will be on and off for the next few hours to see your results.

Hello all hoping I can get some help or I'm screwed, I've flashed and tripped the counter so my warranty is void, and I have backups but they're on my computer or external sd card but I've gone and formatted system, cache, date, sd in addition to the regular wipes when flashing a rom I thought it would free me up and bring me back to 0 however it's brought me too far back and I can't install a rom or even restore my backups as the internal sd has been formatted. I'm hoping somebody can please help me with this asap I have the toolkit on my computer and hopefully anything else I'll need please let me know asap, my phone is a SGH-I747M but we knew that due to the forum.

You need to put your phone in download mode with volume down + home + power then flash the stock rom with the toolkit... use the appropriate rom, I don't know your carrier, just that you are I747m

I thought that would do it, the toolkit does not seem to pick up my phone any longer I thought about using odin not sure if I can do it just like that though. I've actually succeeded in flashing the stock recovery as per the toolkit once but nothing is actually happening my phone just stays at the boot screen. Should I try something else? I'm not sure what to do and I'm just making myself more and more frustrated. It goes to this boot screen now so that's an improvement over just samsung and the boot looping but now it's stuck here not sure what to do. I'm on telus as well fyi.

Sounds like you've flashed the stock kernal, now you need to flash the stock ROM, you can use the rooted Telus image with Odin from this thread:

Now I have to lol, it's funny but I just came to that conclusion after my previous post and am downloading the telus rom as we speak, great minds think alike then again I shouldn't of done this in the first place I'm not a total noob. I just wanted to try and get the phone back as close to the day I took it out the box on a custom rom of course lol, but I find that when I do the wipes I still don't have much space on my sd and everything is the same minus the cool rom, I really want to start from scratch just sucks I chose to do this in the middle of making my plans for the night so I'm screwed and some lady out there is gonna be alone lol.
I never make any backups or anything, but everything is there on my external SD to where if something did go wrong, I could fix it with without a computer...
My SGS2 was working all morning until I pulled it out of my pants after class today.
It was on rooted stock ics, and I have no idea how it could have bricked in the first place.
First symptom was a bootloop. Since I wasn't anywhere near a computer, I decided I would just factory reset/wipe data and cache from the recovery.
After the phone rebooted, it would not proceed further than the "SAMSUNG" screen. I could not enter recovery mode at this point.
I get home and I odin the same stock 4.0.4 ics onto the phone, as well as 4.0.3.
As of now, only download mode works. Every time I try to boot to recovery mode, it gets stuck at the "SAMSUNG" screen. Normally, the Samsung logo would have a glowing effect, but it seems to be frozen now. The animation for the battery is also frozen when it is plugged in when turned off.
Seeing as it can at least get into download mode, I am assuming there is still hope in fixing it without having to send it somewhere else?
Help is much appreciated :]
what recovery are you using?
what do u mean odin the stock ics? if your recovery isnt working, then just odin into a older recovery of cwm, here is the tar file http://www.mediafire.com/?nz97zv1g13d1tcz after that you will have your recovery back working again.
So what I did was reflash the stock kernal in hopes of unbricking my phone. Hope that clarifies things...
I just tried your method above, and it didn't work. It is still stuck on the samsung screen after rebooting. x_x
Use this link http://galaxys2root.com/category/galaxy-s2-unroot/ it well set u back to stock. Once it is done wait the 10 mintues then boot into the stock recovery and clear cashe and factory reset. After that set up ur phone then reroot it make back up then flash away. Did this a couple of days ago working fine now. Good luck!!!

biglil1, I believe method you described would fix phones most likely bricked from custom roms.
However, my phone has never use a custom rom and it is on stock already; it has only been rooted. I have tried reflashing the same stock back to my phone but I have had no luck. Again, it was working fine but suddenly bricked mid day. I wasn't trying anything super fancy that would have bricked the phone in the first place.
Someone please help, I tried looking everywhere for an answer...
Its not just for reseting from a costum rom it can be used to return ur phone back to stock like the first time u unboxed it. When plugged in do u see a box highlighted yellow? If so try it again but revert back to GB then use Kies to update to ICS. Make sure u have the latest drives. Hopefully this way well work. As long as ur phone has some type of response u can recover it. Just keep tring make sure u dont unplug untill Odin says "pass" and ur phone reboots by its self.

If you are referring to the yellow box on odin, then yes I see it. I do not think I have a connection problem; everything seems fine and I see pass on Odin. I will try to revert back to now GB and see how that goes.
I swear people need to learn what Odin is ...for god sakes it what roots your phone

Tried flashing to stock GB twice now and no luck. I will do it a couple more times just to make sure....
bump, nothing has worked so far. What should I do now?
did you flash through odin or recovery? if you did it through odin, what kind of errors are you getting? maybe your download is bad? try to download from another source.

i had to use a method from remonpie to attempt to install unauthorized updates after rooting my phone. the method:
Step 5: Tap on build.prop > ES Note Editor. Make the following changes to ro.product.model and ro.product.manufacter:
Note: You can actually change this for any other device as well, by the way. We chose the Nexus S because it is the most supported phone.
ro.product.model = Nexus S
ro.product.manufacturer = samsung
i modified my .build file to read "Nexus S", once doing so it didnt succeed, so i rebooted the phone and now its just on a dead black illuminated screen. itll say samsung s3 then just illuminate a black screen.
ive reset the battery after 20 plus minutes and so forth. i did save the original file to another folder but it my laptop doesnt register the device, the phone when plugged in so i cannot modify the files.
HELP!!!

i cant access the system files because my computer doesnt recognize the phone now. odin does but when you say reflash the rom, im a noob, the only thing that i know to flash in odin was clockworkmod and that. tar file that you run through odin to root your device
alright, well im trying to install the newest cynagen rom right now but im getting a cant mount sdcard issue. my phone also fails to go into clockworkmod unless i run odin then remove reinstall the batt then run the up volume, home, pwr command. trying to put it in recovery anyother way just puts the phone in the stock recovery rather clockwork
Sounds as if you have cwm so download any Rom from the att section and put it on your micro sd. Boot into recovery and flash. Your back up and running. Vol+ and home button at the same time. Then power on

When phone is off: hold power, home, and vol up until you see the small blue text in the upper left, then let go. I think if you hold them too long it just boots normally.
If your in a boot loop pull the battery to power down.
after a headache some failed odin passes ive come to the conclusion that its a soft brick and am currently restoring the phone with the stock firmware now. ill get back to you in a second. fml, i never backed everything up via titanium neither shame on me
..reporting back. the factory restore was a success. for future reference i still am not sure how to attack the "cant mount sdcard" issue...now lets see how much has been lost, aside from my photos and contact i should be good
well wtf now my phone is consistently interrupted by a notification "unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped."
okay had to clear contact data and contact storage data. thank you google.
nowww i have reason to question that there may be misc disc space cluttering my internal drive because its only registering 400mb of free space of 12gb, when its a 16gb device...any advice?
If I recall correctly, es file explorer causes problems when you use it to edit build.prop. I always use root explorer and have not encountered any issues.
