Are we able to change system font on the mt3gs? S-on. Cm7.
Yes, but if you are s-on, I think the only way would be through adb or to use a cwm flashable .zip to install the new font.
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide
ya you can with flashable zip files. i have changed mine and i have s-on. just google search it.
Yeah, check out the BluMagic posts for the slide. The developer's name is Smokem_I. He's got alot of cool fonts there as well as awsome themes.

I'm running the Fresh 3.1.0.2 ROM on my EVO and today installed the Manup theme, as well as his alternate font. I decided I like the theme but don't really care for the font, now I can't figure out how to change it back to the regular theme font.
I tried reflashing the Manup theme file over and over with no success. What should I do?

Android stores it's fonts in /system/fonts/. You could take the files from this directory from an un-themed backup or ROM and replace the themed files with them using ADB or a root file manager.
Thanks for the reply. I've found the fonts folder, but I can't seem to replace the files. (probably because they're in use) I've tried Android Mate, ES file explorer and Astro, no luck.
I don't know how to use adb.

This is going to come off mean, but learn.
All spelling errors thanks to xt9 on my Evo!
You might not know what to put to push and pull the files but I'm sure there is a topic about it and if not ask for help with what to put. I do remember searching the forum and ran across a post with this info. I use xda app so I would look for you and post the link but ill let you look first. Just takes awhile for me to find stuff I'm looking for on the app. Wish there was an option so you can choose just the evolution forum to search through or a phone forum of your choose. Would help with searches alot.

I dont know if this is possible to make custom skins that we could choose with the skin chooser? Im thinking no but its worth a shot to ask right

Yeah, i was wondering about that too. As all themes this as well could be created. Question is, where you need to put the file. Guess it must be stored in an accessible dir somewhere. Injecting a new theme there should work i guess.

The ones from the above thread?
They work apparently (thread title).
Just install the .apk you downloaded.
You need flashing for the framework mod, rooted device, it tells in the instructions, if i read it right

I stand corrected. I thought he meant the skins for Sense thing.
You could install the frameworks without root though, by using wpthis.ko
(I think it's .ko)
Just run it, then adb push the framework to /system/framework.
You may need temp-root for this.
But of course, temp-root ain't perm-root
I figured it out. You have to add the framework into a flashable .zip - if anyone would like any of the status bars, let me know and ill upload the .zip's

The frameworks don't change the colour of the statusbar background, just the icon colours and what they look like.

You can check out the link posted earlier in the thread to download the .apk's containing skins. In order to get different status bar icons, you'll need to flash a new framework file via .zip in recovery. The frameworks can be applied to any skin you wish.
I'm currently using the Froyo status bar and am loving it. The best part is having the actual battery percentage overlaying the battery icon. I've uploaded the flashable .zip for this one if you'd like to give it a try. Just install via recovery (dont forget to make a backup if you want to restore to default).

Don't have the phone yet
Here's my question, I'd like to switch out the fonts in the Rom I'm using is the Bowtie from Nebula (loving it by the way). I'd just like to switch fonts is all. What would I need to do. I read a few post a while back in some other threads that to use metamorph but the apply says for advanced users. I don't think I'm on advanced level yet but I would still like to learn.
Epic4G + Froyo = The Shizznit
Metamorph is really easy to use.
Download the free version from the market, once its installed you can download a zip with fonts in it then just apply the don't you want to use.
EDIT:
Search the threads for (metamorph changing fonts on the fly) and there is a zip file you can download there to use with metamorph.

You can also flash this (attached) through Clockwork. What I do is, open up this zip (use program 7zip, if you don't already, on your computer),
Take any font, rename it to DroidSans.ttf or DroidSans-Bold.ttf.. etc, copy and replace any fonts inside this zip, then flash.
Or, you can just check out the mother of all xda font threads: 200 Flashable Font Packs
I think ComfortAA (the attached one) is still my fav though.
You guys rock! I asked a question and you guys answered quick and perfect. I'm gonna try these out. Thank you thank you thank you! People like you guys and this community make my phone The Shizznit!

ComfortAA is my current favorite as well. I use root explorer to copy the DroidSans.ttf and DroidSans-Bold.ttf files on my sd card and paste them over the default files in the system/font folder. When I restart the phone, my font is there.
I bought Root System Font installer from the market. Over 200 fonts, you can preview the font and its easy.

I am looking for a zip file that I can add all the fonts from the evo in.. maybe one I can just replace the fonts for droidsanshebrew, droidsansfallback, droidsansarabic, etc... all of them.
Anyone help? I know they have font zips to change a font, but they typically have only three font files in them..
Thanks in advance!
You can check out absolute system app its a paid app but really cool and has allot of fonts to choose from.

You know longer need to flash fonts. Check out this page. A developer created a free app to change your system fonts without needing to flash. Place your fonts somewhere on your SDCARD, set the paths and reboot. BAM. Where is that good ole thanks button again??
I have a problem in replacing stock HTC fonts with some custom fonts using Root explorer. Let's suppose if I wanna replace a certain stock font Alpha with a custom font Beta, I'd simply rename and change that custom font Beta's name to Alpha and replace the stock Alpha with that using Root explorer. It does work for any other devices like Sony, Samsung, and Xiaomi. However, in HTC devices, it only works until I reboot my phone. After reboot, the stock font Alpha ,which supposed to be replaced with font Beta, reappear and the custom font Beta (which replaced Alpha before reboot) doesn't seem to exist there. I know I could easily change my font in Settings>Personalize>Font Style. But I'm just curious if there is any other ways to replace stock fonts with custom fonts? If you don't get my problem, feel free to ask me more. Thank you!
