ok i s-off'ed my phone when it was first relesed, have just updted to the newest version 1.80 and i cant for the life of me figure out how to put the n1 table on my phone i tried "You can also download the corresponding PB99IMG zipfile, put it on your sdcard, and rename it to PB99IMG.zip. Then start the phone in HBOOT mode (VolDown+POWER) to flash the HBOOT without a PC." <<<that but it says cid incorrect reboot or similar any help is much appreciated
also sorry if this has been asked before but i could not find the threads
That's sounds like you need a goldcard but I haven't tried the PB99IMG way.
Have you tried flashing it through fastboot?
I think that's the more reliable way to do it.

if im honest i cant get the sdk tools to fstboot flash it as it says i need java sdk when there already installed :S
Do you have a goldcard in your phone? If not, create one and try it again.
There's lots of posts about how to make a goldcard if you need them

you dont need the java sdk you need the jdk
eitherway fastboot doesnt require java to flash as its an executable from path using cmd so im wondering what you are doing to use it
is it the installer itself that is giving you an error?
have to tried the s-off all in one flasher?

Hi all,
First of all I have an Asian version Generic HTC Desire Z (Asian version but not under a provider) with the following software information:
Android version 2.2.1
Baseband: 12.28e.60.140fU_26.04.02.17_M2
Kernel: 2.6.32.21-g6e170e7....
Build: 1.82.707.1 CL317545 release-keys
Software: 1.82.707.1
My CID is HTC_044
From what I read, in order to root, we have to downgrade the software version to 1.34..... , right?
SO thats what I did.
I have followed the steps to downgrade in ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905261 )
and creating a goldcard ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=832503 )
I tried both (2 different attempts) the PC10IMG.zip file and exe/RUU file, and have copied the whole zip file onto the SDCard (not in any folder), without extracting the files.
When I get to step 9-10 (phone in bootloader mode), I receive an error message like user "waqypaqy" got.
When I reboot into the bootloader, the phone scans the SD card, then I get this:
SD Checking...
Loading...[PC10DIAG.nbh]
No image or wrong image!
Loading...[PC10IMG.zip]
No Image!
Then after a few minutes, comes to another screen and says:
"CID incorrect! Update Fail! Press <POWER> to reboot."
From the bootscreen, here's the info:
VISION PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT -0.85.0009
RADIO-26.04.02.17_M2
eMMC-boot
CID Incorrect!
Update Fail!
Press <POWER> to reboot
Does anyone know what's wrong with this?
It'd be great if anyone could help me.
THANKS in advance =)
PS: I can't post under the "Development" forum because I'm still a newbie and doesn't have enough postcount yet.
The goldcard bypasses the CID check, so you can try looking at that first. Can you confirm that you've correctly written the image from the PSAS site to your sdcard?

Hey theSpam,
I have tried creating the goldcard before, and have received the goldcard image through the email and have updated img through HxD editor (as per the instructions). But like what I said before, it gave me that CID incorrect message.
I'm sorry this might be a stupid question, but how do I check whether I've written the image from the PSAS site? What is the PSAS site?
Thank You for your help =)
I was just asking you to doublecheck that you've correctly written goldcard.img to your sdcard. Most people have issues during this step of the goldcard creation process.
Just open up your sdcard in HxD and see if it's there
Are you using the Asian RUU to get the PC10IMG.zip file? I found this made a difference.

Oh yeah, I have followed all of the instructions in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=832503 for part 1.
I have copied the contents of goldcard.img into the removable disk image and saved the file.
Then I went back to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905261, and followed the steps in that guide.
I only managed to get upto step 10.
Then it showed the error I mentioned above.
The RUU exe file I got was from here:
http://www.shipped-roms.com/shipped/Vision/
I downloaded the file with this name "RUU_Vision_HTC_WWE_1.34.405.5_Radio_12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.26_M_release_155556_signed.exe"
This is the asian version, right?
I got the rom.zip file by following Part 2 steps in the link above.

Oh, and will the steps I have to follow change because of this different filename?
I would also recommend going back and double-checking all those steps for creating the goldcard, because it sounds like it's not recognising a goldcard.

Hi steviewevie,
I just want to make sure whether i've followed the steps correctly or not.
Making the goldcard:
During step 4, "Enter 'adb shell cat /sys/class/mmc_host/mmc2/mmc2:*/cid' and press enter. You should get a very long number copy it."
This is the number that I get: 479a002f86c320087483035535443530
Step 5 "Visit this page, paste in your number and reverse it."
When I opened the link for that step, there isn't any textfield where I can paste in my number.
So what I did was reverse the number manually into 035344535530384780023c68f200a974
Step 6. I entered the reversed number into the SD Card Serial (CID) text field.
Question: Can I reverse it manually?
Thank you mate (and to anyone who is kind enough to help) =)

As you have downgraded, you can follow the guide found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Vision to achieve permanent root.
Once you have ClockwordMod Recovery installed (per the above guide), you can flash Cyanogen.
As for the radio, I personally don't recommend changing anything due to the brick risk (however, many others share opposite opinions).

Hi,
I have just finished installing and flashing CM 7 + googleaps zip file.
But I found several problems:
1. Google Maps not installed
2. Calendar is missing
3. Stock email app somehow doesnt work
4. Numbers: I can only see several digits on the letters, they are 1 2 4 5 0
5. And most of all I just found out that HTC Sync does not work with CM =( (can't sync my contacts n calendar anymore through outlook 2010)
Would you have any ideas why this is happening?
THanks very much theSpam!
Same problem!!!
Hey akhoman, happy for you in rooting your desire z successfully! Man, can you give me all the steps you did (one by one)? I have tried so many ways and nothing helped, I also got the CID wrong, I tried to make the goldcard but still having that problem all the errors and information are exactly like yours... BIG THANK, dude!

Need to flash gapps after you flash cm Rom
Help please!!!
I have a bricked USB desire with the latest cyanogenmod 7.0.2.1 rom installed I'm trying to generate an img file to repair but cannot find the rom number for the generator as per the instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=691639
It isn't in the menu settings > about Phone
I have found the kernel number but that's only 8 digits (2.6.37.4) and doesn't work.
Can anyone help been trying to unbrick for two days now without success.
Many thanks
I think rom number doesn't matter, you can use any rom number becouse you will not use your own mtd0.img but this downloaded
Or use modaco way
http://android.modaco.com/content/h...com/309961/usb-brick-rickrolled-b0rked-fixed/
and google for hex editor
good luck
hi, do you remember the stock rom you had?
the latest update froyo rom (desire bravo gsm) was Bravo_WWE_2.29.405.5
if you have got a desire bravo gsm, you can try with that rom number.
see also turkey's TUT http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=814381
hope this help
Ok guys I've managed to fix it!!! After numerous attempts I've carefully followed the guides in the forum and used the hex editor to create and edit the mtd0.img I then downloaded the terminal emulator and after several attempts at getting the files in the right place on my sdcard and getting the spaces, slashes and dashes all correct in the command lines my device has sprung back into life. Many thanks to this great forum and the genius who came up with the fix!!! Next is to get the Leedroid rom working!
Hi
I seem to be having a problem rooting my Xperia Arc.
I'm trying to run : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1320350&page=12
And first I got the error message : Adb out of date, but re-tried.
The second time I did it, I didn't get that message but now it just says waiting for device...
Nothing else happens - I have followed all the instructions and can't see anything wrong.
Any help appreciated...
Go to task manager on the PC and end any instance of adb, then try again.
If the above doesn't work just copy the
adb.exe
AdbWinApi.dll
AdbWinUsbApi.dll
From your adb folder and try again
Hi, thanks for the replies.
I tried killing the process but made no difference.
I went through and had another read around and followed the adb guide to make sure I had everything, downloaded things and tried again.
I now get a message adb is out of date, killing.
But then says Daemon started successfully, then does nothing.
I don't seem to have those files any you mentioned anywhere??
If you was following that thread you must have those files, also you must have adb SDK installed you are getting that error because the adb files in the link is different versions to what you have installed so just move the files named
I did it the other way and created files folder in program files\android\sdk with the files from the root package and put batch file in the main directory.
Sent from my LT15i using xda premium
Absolutely no idea then, It said it downloaded stuff, but no idea where it is. I have file searched but brings up nothing.
I do have the SDK yes, but there is no folder in there called usb or anything.
I'll try re-doing it all again from scratch, see if it makes any difference..

That's what I've been following.
Knightlore,
I seemed to have had the same problems as you. Much as I thought I was following instructions, I just couldn't get it to work.
One of the threads I was reading had a link to a flashtool thread(I can't easily link to it at the moment as not on computer). Anyway, it said that the Zergrush exploit was now in Flashtool, so I followed those instructions and it was really easy to root phone.
HTH.
I think it is this thread I followed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343
Still encountering the same problem, I have re-done everything from scratch and I still get the same error. Anyone else got any ideas please?
I've managed to root all my other phones, but for some reason this just won't work...
See my other thread about the upgrade message when I connect to HTC sync manager. (Even though the phone reboots and goes thru several flash screens, nothing is changed)
Phone is HTC Desire 526 Verizon prepaid.
This time, I let it run again, but I opened the program temp folder in explorer and grabbed the files.
It has a 1.2GB file that I'm guessing is system image and a 10MB file labeled boot image.
I uploaded it to my Google drive in the hopes that someone here can find a way to use it to get us a custom ROM, or at least root, going.

I pulled those files from the temporary download location of the HTC program on Windows, just after it downloaded the update, while it was copying the files to the phone.
It was in the Program Files directory of the HTC desktop program, instead of the windows user profile temp folder like most programs.
The files uploaded are the update files.

That might be difficult, given that the US-market 526 was only sold by Verizon and doesn't seem to be too popular of a phone. I never found a way to order it unlocked straight from HTC.
Does the boot.img have an unlocked bootloader?I need one thats unlocked
there is no unlocked bootloader for the Vreizon prepaid Desire 526.
I posted these files in the hopes that someone could use them to get us unlocked.
Thank You for the files.
I will take a look and let you guys know how to flash it.
It will help the bootloader issue.
I need these files to keep working on this.
Thanks again
---------- Post added at 05:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:46 PM ----------
To flash the rom. Whichever of the 2 downloads it is ???
rename the file to
Code:
0PM3IMG.zip
Copy 0PM3IMG.zip to the external sd card.
Boot the phone into the bootloader / download mode.
It should find the file on the sdcard and ask you if you want to install it.
I will test it out later.
Basically if you mess something up in the phone by deleting files or whatnot this should be useable to flash back to stock.
I know I'm just an amateur with programming but couldn't you/we just "Frankencode" it? Like have two/three of the same file and keep one original, have another be the successful edit, and have another be the experimental editing?
To some extent that is what i'm working on.
The Desire 626s is the same chipset and the boot-loader is unlockable.
These RUU files / ( Factory Rom ) ruu = rom update utility come packed with some goodies.
The bootloader is in the packages for the 526 and the 626.
The question is how to flash the files from the 626 to the 526.
The ruu uses a couple different security measures to make sure the files aren't tampered with.
The main zip file is signed with keys and verified to be signed against the public half of the keypair.
It's a file called keys in the /res folder of the recovery.img ramdisk.
By generating a pair of keys ( Private and Publick ) .pk8 and .pem and dumping the public key with dumppublickeys it is possible to change the key in the /res/key of the ramdisk. This means we can modify the main zip file and sign it with our own keys and it will pass the signature test.
But the zip files inside of the main zip are also signed / encrypted.
We can decrypt the inner zip files with bruuveal. So that can extract the zip files and not get errors.
Or use the HTC Decrypt tool found on this forum.
The interesting thing here is that prior to the ruu flashing the phone it flashes the HOSD.
That's the smaller zip file.
The only reason for HTC to do that i'm thinking is because the hosd / hboot that is on the phone to begin with blocks writing of the necessary partitions by some means.
So the hosd is pre-updated to allow the main ruu to flash.
This is not the case on the 626s. The other interesting thing is that the hosd flashes by itself in the main zip not a sub zip and like I said I can get around the first file signature.
If I can get the 626s firmware to flash to the 526 then we can unlock the boot-loader.
If we can find a way to get around the inner file signing ( If I can figure out where the public half of the key is)
You can flash the software using fastboot...
fastboot flash zip <name 1st zip>
fastboot flash zip <name 2nd zip>
If the second file will not be able to - use htc_fastboot
where to take - when unpacking (executing)standart RUU file
Anyone find a solution to this problem? I have the desire 526 and it froze during upgrading with the htc sync, now it doesn't go past the boot screen and I've searched for a solution to this problem everywhere.
Is it safe to say that none of the forums have a solution to the Desire 526 vzw prepaid problem? I've searched multiple forums, youtube videos, and no one either answer the problem or the answers do not work. However most of us are just looking for the original boot & recovery, but that seems to be an impossible mission. Hopefully, someone in some forum will come up with a solution that actually works, or someone will actually respond to some of our questions.
