I got the Seidio Convert case (extended battery version) for my TBolt, and I have to say, it's almost perfect for what I do.

It holds pretty securely on my Uncle Mike's Deluxe Basketweave Duty Belt, with one minor exception.... (Continue reading)
Back View (with velcro open)
The majority of the duty belt material was too thick for the clip hook to slide into, so I had to put it into a layer of the thinner leather designed to adjust belt width...
Back View (with velcro closed)
The clip fits in like a charm and the velcro is able to stick. I wouldn't want my phone anywhere else on the belt but the front, so it's a compromise I'm willing to work with.
Hanging on duty belt
This is the small exception to my otherwise complete satisfaction. When the clip is on the belt in normal wear, the belt isn't wide enough to fit into the hook, so the hook hangs down. It's no big deal though, because the hook secures itself in a layer of leather when the clip gets raised (as seen in next picture)
Pulled up on duty belt
So there you have it. It won't fall out when I have to run, but it does have a slight jiggle to it.
and I have my fully charged 1350 battery as a backup just in case!
Yes, the belt it dirty. I place my active x extended case on the same spot. Its my day off so I just threw the belt on my bed and snapped a picture.

nice bro, always good to see another boy in blue (or brown/green/tan/khaki/etc.)
if I may make one suggestion to your belt though, keep your OC Spray on the support side. I know it's crowded over there, but you don't want any delay in case of an escalation of force situation... plus you'll still have use the spray if someone is grabbing onto your gun and your strong side is busy.
That's why I got my kabar, jk. I've tried using it weak side but there is no room. We aren't issued speaker mics so it makes removing the radio near impossible. Not like our radios work to transmit. I can easily reach it with both hands. And I know the reach around is not the ideal thing to do in the field.

Thank you for serving in the corps brother. Count your blessings with the cargo pants... most civilian police departments don't utilize them for the standard patrol uniform, we'd have to be wearing a tactical uniform to get them, and even then we'd only be allowed to wear the tactical uniform on certain jobs (like lake patrols.) the only pockets civilian cops have are the two front pockets on the blouse, haha. my monadnock and duty weapon make the other two inaccessible.

First of all I love black and red, but even without color combos this is one sick case! I ordered mine today and am surprised that more people haven't hopped on the Ballistic bandwagon. Please chime in with your thoughts and experiences with Ballistic cases. I personally like them more than Otterbox.

thats a pretty hot looking case. i hate cases and recently stopped using my seidio surface case because even that added too much bulk for me. but i can see how this would appeal to people that enjoy cases.
Wow that's a great looking case. Definitely the best looking case I've seen yet!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Otterbox Defender. BUT!, It isn't dustproof. I still have to take it out of the case and clean some dust that gets under the screen protector every once and a while.
I ended up buying a black one because it was nearly half the price of the red one. Will post images and review when it arrives.
Looks nice. Definitely looking forward to seeing pics. Can't complain with my Otterbox Defender though. Seems to offer about the same amount of protection.
Will cases like this, or the otterbox defender still easy to carry around. Put in and out of pocket and what not?

Not really, but that's the trade off. They do very much make the phone bulkier. Whereas I could easily put the Inc2 by itself into one of my pockets, the rubber exterior of my OB makes it very difficult. Thankfully, it's got a holster to snap in.
That said, I am referring to pants pockets versus something like jacket pocket. YMMV.

I have no problem putting it in my pocket, don't see how u could unless ur a girl with those tiny pockets or wear those skinny jeans things, but they fit in my regular old wrangler pocket just fine with the otterbox defender on it, yes, it does make it bulkier, but it was so slim in the first place, its still not really bulky in my opinion compared to other phones.

Alright, So apparently my Otterbox is really dirty when you zoom in this much, but this is a Samsung Infuse 4G Otterbox placed on a T-Mobile Galaxy S2 SGH-T989.
As you will see, the open area where the volume rocker slot is needs to be extended downward otherwise the case will hold the volume rocker in the down position. I could have been a lot cleaner cutting it out, but I was in a rush. It only requires about an 1/8 inch cut out, If you line them up you will easily see the problem.
The case doesn't full snap to the right of the charger port, it comes very close but has caused no problems and once the outside rubber/silicone skin is on, makes zero functional or aesthetic difference.
The back speaker hole is corrected but just slightly offset, I didn't notice any difference at all, as it is so minimal.
If you'd like any additional pictures or have any questions please let me know.
I don't know if I would go back to OtterBox as protection was not the best for me, but with your modification, how does it sound when you are talking to someone? Are the MIC holes clear and free specifically?
I have not noticed any troubles with communicating with the other end of the phone line. The incoming and outgoing sounds just like without the case.
The bottom mic hole is slightly offset from center but is still 100% unobstructed.

I've been using the Infuse's Otterbox Defender case almost since I got my SGS2. I'd only be happier if Otterbox made one specifically for the T-989.
OP, you can make the case snap shut completely if you lightly sand down the inside bottom of the case on the left and right sides. This allows the bottom of the battery cover just enough room so the case snaps shut all the way around. This isn't necessary, just thought I'd share what I did to obtain a slightly better fit.

Cases
I bought the D30 Flex case which is pretty snug, the only drawback of this case is that the buttons are hard to press(effort is needed). Which case offers the most protection and maneuverability?
Sorry to take so long getting pics, anyways, here's a some crappy pics of what I did to fit my T-989 into the Infuse Otterbox Defender case.
What isn't shown is the belt clip that I drilled a hole in so I could listen to music, etc and still have access to the screen of the SGS2.

The only problem I've had is turning the volume down - sometimes it takes several presses of the button instead of one simple long press.
I'll also note that because the USB and RCA jack are not 100% lined up, there will be slightly tension put on the cords from the outer rubber case. So far,my T-989 has suffered no ill effects from this.
For the protection this case provides and how big of a klutz and how rough I am, the minor inconvenience of it is well worth it IMO.

Oh man, I am so used to ordering everything from Amazon (or others) that I didn't even consider going to a store to get a case. I had it on my epic touch for a few weeks (before I quickly got rid of it) and it never felt like it was getting loose. It uses the 3m double sided tape, the same tape on the wall hooks that 3m makes that are rated to hold 5 lbs.
Another thing I like is that it lifts the phone speaker of the surface more so it doesn't dampen the ringer. That is partially annoying cause it doesn't lay flat on a surface if your using your phone laying down, but isn't a huge deal.

I'm loving my TPU case though. The rubbery feel of a TPU is just so much easier to grip. Doesn't make the phone any bulkier in the pocket except it helps trap pocket lint where it meets the screen. I keep my pockets cleaner now
I fumbled my HTC EVO 4G LTE, this past Sunday it was good and bad... I got myself the Note2 , but purchased it full price

Sure you 'fumbled' it...
j/k ... bittersweet i guess.
Well when my original note 2 suffered the tragic Left Corner Of Doom break it was in a leather pouch that fell off my hip and hit the asphalt just right. I think the issue with these phones are that the size of the screen makes them more fragile. Its easier to break a full pensil in half then a half pensil in half. Makes sense?

I have one of those slim cases that snaps on. I had one on my OG Evo and there was no way the phone would contact the ground during a fall. This isn't the case with the GN2 since it is so much larger the case doesn't wrap the corners as well. Right now I am ultra aware when I grab for my phone and it will be awhile before using it becomes automatic. I once dropped a loaded pistol with a round in the chamber inside my gun cabinet. It fell about 3.5 feet and it felt like an eternity since it fell straight down and I was hoping the firing pin would not strike the primer.

Do you keep a lot of loaded guns in your safe? I mean, I keep 1 loaded revolver, but I think it would be about impossible to drop it hard enough to engage the firing pin with it not cocked. My other loaded firearm is typically on my hip/bed and is cocked and locked. It isn't good on your magazine springs to keep ammunition always in them. Not to mention the safety hazard of having loaded firearms. Glad no one was hurt.

This isnt a fact, magazines today have springs that are treated to remain compressed and not suffer any reliability issues. There have even been case of original colt 1911's with original magazines and ammo still firing when the trigger was pulled.
I love guns more than phones.

I just took a look at my Evo which survived many a fall with a slim case. It seems like its softer plastic around the glass. As far as keeping loaded guns in the safe. If I didn't have 3 kids there would be loaded guns all over my house. I also keep a couple of AR15 mags ready to go just in case...
Front and center is my carry piece that fell. Extra points for the person who can tell me what make and model it is.

Hello everyone, I guess I'm just here to show you guys a little accessory I made for my One. I welded it out of random scrap metal and bent a bracket back in between the dash and clock accessory to hold it in place. It's very stable, and good for using with Navigation, or for changing the music on my Bluetooth stereo.

I envy your ingenuity, yet pity your phone for all the scratches this will give it.
This has to be a joke this will destroy your device

You need to go to home depot and pick up a can of plasti-dip to coat your holder.
No way would I place my device in that bare. If its in a case that would be fine, but the bare metal sticking out of your dash is abit of an eyesore.
I like it as a diy, but coat it in plasti-dip and it would go from unsightly to being near perfect.
Love the implementation of Industrial Design, combined with American ingenuity & sheer retardedness. lol.
Just kidding! Work on your quality of finish maybe?
are you serious ?????? put it in the bin
Wow, don't we have a bunch of asshats on this forum.
Nice work dude, maybe spray it with something so you don't damage the phone.

haha wow I just happened to find two people who seem to keep this amazing piece of equipment.. without a case? Lol I habent had it out, since I bought it, for more than a minute or two.
Plasti-dip is a good idea! although I'm beggining to like the industrial look of it, as bare metal.

Yeah, thank you! Just thought someone might get an idea from mine.. I thought of that, I just kind of like the way it looks. Who knows, might dip it though. Thanks for the input!

lol yeah, im not a big fan of cases honestly. I may use one from time to time, but only to match an outfit, but even then I mostly rely on skins lol. I usually just throw a full body skin on it or leave my phones bare.
Always found it funny when people rave and make a big deal about how a phone looks or how thin it is then throw it into an otterbox or something.
What case is that?
Cool clock!

I did as you said, and plasti-dipped it!
I think it looks pretty cool, and now it's protected by a layer of rubber, so bare phones will be happy still.

Very nice. I wish I had my '89 CRX to do things like this to. I'm going to find a decent suction cup holder from somewhere eventually.
Is this the only version you're making? I was thinking next time you could use a pneumatic press and take a single piece of steel and fold it so you don't have so many harsh edges. Or heat a single piece of steel and make like a blacksmith and bend that beast with a sledgehammer and willpower.
alternatively if you absolutely must weld it, weld the sides on the backside of the backplate rather than the front. Just curious why you took the time to weld it but disregarded the 20 seconds it would've taken to smooth it with a hand-held grinder?
Also, why not legos?
I also had the idea to build this with lego . (my old phone, but also works with my HTC One)
