Hi guys
Needs some help. I flashed Desire a while ago to the below
2.2
build 2.29.405.2 CL263770 release key
Can't use the current OTA as it freezes on the exclamation mark. What do I need to do to get it ready for the 2.3 promised update ?
Many thanks

At which step does the exclamation mark appear? Try to press volume up and power button, and select "reboot system now".
when the bar is about a third of the way along. Power and + lets me reboot though ?

Hye guys,
When i wiped my rom, backuped my current and installed the new CM 6.1 RC, i am stuck at boot-loop.
The cm mod logo just reappears, and nothing further happens.
When i press power and volume down, and choose recovery, i just get this exclamation mark with a triangle around the mark over a desire.
Anyone got a suggestion to what i can do? the led seems to work fine.
Any help would be appriciated.
cheers
I have the same. Tried loading 6.0.2 first which works well but not getting past boot on 6.1
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I had the same problem with this mod.
I have not found a solution - my phone being sent off for repair...

Well that is the standard htc recovery. That is the recovery installed to your phone if you didn't install another one. So if you rooted usings pauls method, you have probably been using fake flash to access recovery. So do the following to enter your fake flash recovery:
1. when on the triangle screen hold "volume up" and press "power button"
2. use volume and power button to select "flash update.zip"
3. now clockwork mod(your normal recovery) should appear, and you can just restore your backup.
Now lets hope you didn't install it in the order you mentioned:

This way your backup will contain a couple of empty partitions.. because you would have wiped it first. I hope you were not that stupid
And a note: please don't mess with things you clearly don't have a clue about. You clearly do not know, what you are doing to your phone and are just pushing buttons according to some guide.

So you wan't HTC to take care of a problem you created by hacking your phone? Take some responsibility and if you dont know how to install roms and how they work. Just don't.(note to OP above also applies to you)
And finally sorry for being a little rough on you guys but seriously such problems could be easily solved by the individual just by reading up on the subject of rooting as the above info should be common knowledge.
When I go to install the HTC Gingerbread update it starts to download it a little then an exclamation mark inside of a triangle pops up with a little android beside it. It stays there until I press the home button and restart my phone. And it still says the update it ready to install. Any help?

are you rooted?
i was but i unrooted.
Are you planning on not being rooted for awhile???????
Why not just flash the rooted stock update in xHausx's thread in the dev section so you don't lose root?
i am new to this phone, and i think i just did something really stupid. i was trying to install a new rom, and formatted the system in the mount and storage menu. Now i cannot even restart the phone, it hangs at he white page showing "htc incredible". what should i do to have my old rom back or install a new one?
hboot 0.79
radio 2.15.00.07.28
I think you can hold power button down and volume down together to get to the Android loader.

yes, I can go to the Android loader, but still cannot get the phone to boot into Android - it just hangs on the HTC Incredible white page. what else I could possibly do?
Not sure if this will help, but try updating your Hboot to the latest version .92

Try this. Pull the battery and reinsert. Hold vol down and power till a white screen appears (hboot). Use vol down key to select recovery and power to select it. A screen will show a phone with an arrow. From that screen hold vol up and power till a menu appears. From the list select wipe cache. Once done select reboot. It should then prompt you again to install it.

@UdiFlpb
I just recently flashed the RUU to be expecting the 4.3 OTA soon and I wasn't able to grab any OTA updates. You can do it manually. I linked where to download the .15 firmware below.
But download it. place on your internal storage and you'll be able to flash it in the stock recovery and update that way.

haha I'll try to make it simple.
Download the file here to your phone. http://d-h.st/QMZ
Go into Settings, Power, and make sure Fast boot at bottom in unchecked.
Turn off phone
Turn on phone while holding down the volume down button. This is called your HBOOT. You will navigate using your volume keys and select button your power button.
Navigate to recovery and press the power button
Wait a few seconds, Next hold the power button with the volume up button for 2 seconds. If nothing still appears, then just press the power button. then you'll get some options on the screen.
Navigate and select apply from phone storage. Navigate to where you downloaded the file above to and press power button. It will be under the 0 folder.
After it flashes. Select reboot system and your phone will restart about 2 times.
The instructions above are for if you are wanting to update to the latest firmware. When the next firmware comes out. Follow the exact same instructions above but with the new firmware zip.
@Flyhalf205
Will it erase something ? And will I find the next software update ? And do I need root or unlock bootloader for this ?

You don't press it long. Just a quick press.. Try just selecting the power button and see if the menu appears. I forget the key combination to this phone.

First off you must not have the Verizon one cause we don't have 4.4. But these directions on first page are for someone who is completely stock. Is that what you are and you have the 4.4 ota file trying to flash?
