There is a really nice white overscroll on the Unity rom and i thought it would go very nicely with Glites white type theme. Is there anyway someone can make me a .zip that just has the white overscroll or could you teach me how to do it??

Thanks for the link. I went on and made a zip and everything ( I tried to modify more than just the overscroll though). The kitchen made the zip with no problems, but when i flashed it I went into boot loops. I tried it three different times the first time i cleared the dalvik and cache partion, the second time i just cleared the dalvik, the third i just cleared the partion and the fouth i didn't clear anything and they all sent me into boot loops. Any reason to why ??

Did you upload the correct framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk for your ROM?
You might of got a bad download, try downloading again.
If it still wont work it might worth asking your question in the UOT support thread.
I got it!!!! Dude your a big help! i'm about to have sooo much fun with this kitchen )) Found something to definitely keep me busy at work for the rest of the day.
I created a new mod and just did the overscroll glow and i figure i'm going to change everything one at a time to see what made me go into the bootloop, but thanx big time!

Can you do that, or should I reboot?
Most times I have done that I would get instability. Especially if its a new rom or a theme. For example if you a flash a rom I would let it completely load first than flash the theme. That's been my experience anyway. May vary for others.

Okay, I was just asking because I wanted to know if I could just flash a keyboard and a physical keyboard fix all in one go. Thanks for the warning!
I have flashed startup boot ani and shutdown ani at the same time without issue. If you are flashing a kernel or ROM, you should reboot so it can zip align before adding more stuff. Theming items can be grouped.

I have had success and failure with flashing multiple items before a reboot. Just consider this, you won't know if you had a bad flash until you reboot. So if you have one item fail to flash properly, and then flash 2 more on top of that before rebooting, then you won't know what caused the problem when your phone doesn't boot properly.
Food for thought. I'd recommend doing everything one at a time for the most part.
Interesting, I have flashed a whole pile of stuff at once with no issues. I am not saying you should do that. Perhaps I will stop doing that.

It is fine if it is all theme items. It is ROMs and kernels which should be flashed and boot to system to let changes take effect then flash as many theme items as you want. The only thing you are doing is copying files to the phone while off so the programs are not running...like keyboard.apk or Mms.apk, so if you flashed 2 similiar theme items, the last one you flashed would take precedence.

That's more or less what it was, although I have done a kernel and rom back to back. Thanks for the info.

It depends on what it is. If your flashing some apps then yeah u can do multiple ones. If its a rom and theme then no you can't.

Tried to flash a new kernal and it just booted to the bootloader screen. I noticed it kept saying the PC36100.img wasnt found when the popup comes up when u switch to bootloader from the first screen.
went into ra recovery wiped cache an data again tried reboot and same deal. went and flashed the old kernal back and reboot, same deal. went to load a nandroid backup and it says there is none... weird cz ive made them... so i make another to see if its not working, but it creates one. i was going to restore an img that i made as a backup with clockwork, but yea that doesnt work in ra i guess... so i pull my sd card to check it and put a new rom on to get running again at least and now i put my bat back in and the phone wont power on... plugged in the power cable and the led blinks.. what does this mean?
ok just killed my phone bat... im a rtard. but yea it sux now i need to re rom after a melt down!!
Ah ok so I'm up and running after a little scare. I found that using "kernel manager" is a bad idea... but I also learned that with a quick cache and dalvik wipe I was able to install myn warm z right over the rls5 I was using and all is well. Everything updated to the new stuff and kept everything else just the way I left it

Thanks for the update. That's good information to know.
Every once in rare awhile, yesterday morning, for example, I boot up and it sits n the while screen. A simple cache and Dalvik Cache clear fixes it. Weird that it eve nhappens.....

Kernel Manager works great.....just make sure you have the "Clear Cache" and "Clear Dalvik" boxes checked in settings before flashing your kernel. I've never had any problems at all with it. Glad you got your phone up & running.
Kernal manager looked good to me.. but I will hold off on using it for the moment. I did the clear on dalvik and cache through kernalmanager and I ended up with that boot issue. It is probably a good app, and I didn't mean to bash it, I just don't think I'll be messing with it any time soon due to what happened in my case...
I have been playing with my phone today and noticed 2 things so far that could be due to not clearing data. 1) When I open the Gallery app, it doesn't show my pics and vids just a blank white screen with the border at the bottom. I can however go to insert an attachment and when I choose Gallery it shows all of my pics and vids and such.
2) My clock app is completely gone. So no alarm, stopwatch, etc..
Are these gapps downloadable and installable like when u run the cm roms? maybe a reinstall of these two will fix it? I'm gunna go ahead and try a titanium restore of them, if they were backed up. see what happens..
Kernel manager is great, but it does have a serious bug that causes exactly what this guy describes. What happens is kernel manager fails to repack the boot.img after extracting it in order to replace the zimage (the actual kernel file) without a repacked boot.img there really is no boot.img for your phone to see and there for it loads you into the bootloader in order to flash a new boot.img. By booting into recovery and manually flashing a new kernel or flashing your current rom over the top of what you already have on (ie no wipe) you can usually correct this problem with ease.
sounds about right ^^
the flashing of a new kernal did nothing for the boot.img tho. I was assuming it had to do with the boot.img and was going to try to paste in one from a backup, but it was late so I took the easy and less informative way out..
well there are a couple issues I'm seeing with this overlapped rom flash of warm z on top of rls5, so i think im gunna do a data wipe. which means new rom possibility any ideers??
Running great so far but batt life is not so good. Also I get the txt when I get a voicemail which usually only happens on asop tons not sense... gotta figure this one out

I'm currently on a deodexed EF02 ROM with a rEVOlution Theme. I want to change to the MyAosp Theme, but whenever I try to, I always get stuck in a boot loop. I wipe Cache like it says to, but it still doesn't boot. Is there a special procedure/ritual we have to do to change themes. I tried I different theme, it was a stock gingerbread blue theme, and that didn't work either.
Try wiping cache
Also make sure that the themes you flash are for ef02

I'm thinking you didn't read my OP. Let me quote this for you;
"I wipe Cache like it says to,"
And it is for EF02.
If I remember correctly, revolution remix has the lock screen mod and my aosp does not. If I'm correct on that, then the error you are getting is do to having an incompatible androidpolicy.jar file with the framework of the new theme.
So what should I do?
Try to redownload the theme. See if that works.

I ran into a problem like that, and had to start back from scratch fresh odin and what not, re download the file to make sure 1st one wasn't corrupt. Try again?

Pull the jar file from the system/framework folder from the rom you are running and drop it in the system/framework of the zip of the theme you are using.

Look in this same forum for Market 3.4.4 and reinstall Market again. It is a broken issue caused by the new updated kernel on BM4.1.

Go to setting>applications and make sure that "unknown sources" is checked and go to development in the same page and see if USB debugging is checked as well. Then you are going to go to the "Files" in your applications list and look for your download folder where your APK file was downloaded to and click on it and follow the instructions and you should be good to go from there
omg im downloading my apps again ^_^ thank you so much!!!!!
when i download a new rom or update a new rom how do i keep my old widgets on my screen and apps? reinstalling the apps and adding widgets and customizing screen is so tiring T_T

Its a catch 22 since most times Market will re-up your apps but for Widgets you have to re-do again which YES its a pain lol
Also Titanium backup is a neat tool to backup your apps and remove ****e you don't need.
Glad to be of help and PM me anytime you have a question

I think this young grasshoppa has found his answer and this thread needs no further action.
May you please delete?

Try installing the red theme in the second post of BeastMOD that also worked for me in making market work or refer to the steps in the prior post with a reboot after

go into recovery mode and wipe cash and it will fix the problem
Another way is to log into your PC and log into the market and install an app or game from there. Worked for me.

I've wiped both the partition cache and dalvik cache, installed the 3.4.4 version of Market (above) and rebooted my phone.. Still getting 492 error..
I am having this same issue on my SGS2.
Running BeastMod 4.2 w/ Synergy Kernel
I have tried reflash of ROM, reflash of Kernel, install of Market 3.4.4, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, and fix permissions. None of these have worked.
These are some helpful steps I came across somewhere in the forums.
When I do this I have had no problems with the market.
Factory reset 3 times
Wipe cache 3 times
Wipe dalvik cache 3 times
Fix permissions 3 times
Wipe the battery stats 3 times
Reboot your phone
After the phone boots leave it without touching it for 10 minutes
492 error
Tried wiping dalvik cache, reloading Market 3.4.4, installing Red theme, and rebooting. Nothing works. Have the same problem with Paradox ROM. Cannot download or update anything from market. Finnally worked after booting into clockwork and wiping cache partition(not Dalvik cache).

May I suggest to ODIN to a stock rooted rom then choose a rom of choice and flash using CWM.
Hi All,
Firstly, thank you for making this amazing rom available. I lost the power button on my HOX and needed to get s2w but I've been blown away by all the other features!
One problem I have tho is the bar that contains the call and camera icons is invisible, there's a blank space there. When I click in that area it opens the app up, for example the call icon must still be there as it opens even tho I can't see it.
I have installed the latest viperx rom and also the alex-v kernal, only noticed the issue after installing the kernal - however it may not be anything to do with what I've flashed, I may have just changed a setting but for the life of me I can't find what it is I've changed.
Any help getting that back is very much appreciated,
Thank you!
Add a screenshot of how it looks like now ? Easier to determine the problem. Is the app drawer button still there ?

Many thanks Mr Hofs, have added it above.

Ouch completely gone indeed. Well i should reflash the rom with a cache wipe only, and since you are on Alex V kernel you have to select in the aroma the other supplied kernel/modules support (not viper delivered)
Or try a cache and dalvik cache wipe via the venom tweak app first.

Success!
I tried the cache wipes first as you suggested but no joy, then tried the rom reflash - this brought the icons back but no s2w!
I had a read about and saw that the alex-v kernel has a few choices for the s2w, so i deleted the ones I didn't want, re-zipped and flashed that one. Pleased to say it's worked!!
Thanks a lot for you help man and have a great day!
