Anyone tried out the new beta? One would imagine you have to freeze the current version on the S2 and install the new one from the market.
I have the same question...

Hi,
I've had my desire for a few weeks now and am loving it. Only problem is that when Google release an update, it takes HTC and then the mobile operators forever to release the update.
Is there a way to do the following:
- install a default android 2.2 ROM; so when an update is issued by Google I can get it...Ive heard the desire is the same as the Nexus one, so can I use the same generic nexus rom?
- install a generic htc rom so that when HTC update their software, i dont have to wait for the my operator to do so.
If i install the nexus rom, can i revert it back to the HTC rom later?
What do you guys recommend?
thanks in advance.
Word of advise for a new poster.
Use the Search button and or look through the threads before you post.
Trust me, it will keep you alive!
No you can not, untill HTC releases there version with Sense
The speed difference between Android 2.2 and Android 2.1 is really hard to notice barr a few apps. It really isn't worth the tradeoff for now, Sense UI is far better than stock Android regardless.
I know there is an .apk around for it, but am just wondering if the new market is something Google is slowing rolling out to everyone?
When i was running a sense based rom the market automatically updated itself to the new one, but now am running Oxygen Gingerbread and so far it's still on the old market, as i said i know there is a .apk for the new market i could use to update, but am just wondering if will update itself at some point?
Hi all,
I've had to flash runnyDroid's rom a couple of times to get it to the perfect state I want it to be. There is one small thing though that has been bugging me, the android market didn't update by itself like the previous rom. How can I get to the newest version of the market?
Thanks
I recently installed the Omega Rom, it has a swype keyboard which i don't like and i'd prefer the stock one. anybody know how i can get rid of it?
Also i installed a theme, does anyone know how to uninstall the theme?
so it has swype beta installed yet i NEVER installed it, ive gone through all files and deleted what i found from that app, but yet it seems to stay on the phone, any ideas ?!?!?!?
So my wonderful OnePlus One recently bit the biscuit which means that I'm going to be going back to my trusty Galaxy Nexus as my daily driver.
Looking to run a stock version of Android, currently have 4.3 loaded on it. Is that considered the "best" version to run on it? I heard issues with running KitKat but that was a few years ago now...
I want something stock with no slowdowns that this phone is perfectly capable running. Thanks!
I'm use kitkat https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/development/rom-omap4-aosp-project-t3334574
