Is vBulletin a pretty easy tool for someone to use who isn't a developer? I'm thinking of trying to get a website up and running and thinking that something like this might be a useful way to go.
Also, is it expensive?
Thanks...

Prices and demos are there.
It is very heavy so it might be confusing when seeing the admin for the first time

There's alot of units out for the touch, not like its anything rare..
But only 2 pages for the upgrading thread??
I just ordered a Touch for Sprint cause I get 3000 MIN. Nights/Weekends. Unlimited Txt/Pic Msg/Data. for $20 a month. So i'm breaking my Tmobile contract..
I like to try out new roms, but there really isn't much.
Will any cooking be happing in the Vogue forums? Hope so..
This was posted on PPCGeeks and my reply to this guy's post is below. I'm not saying your situation is just like this guy, but in order for this to flourish, we all have to work together to build ROMs. I am still very new to it, but once you starting playing around with building them, it begins to get easier. There are a few roms on PPCGeeks and I have a Alpha ROM on there FTP just to show I'm not just pulling your leg

Between ppcgeeks and XDA forums theres probably about 3 decent (mind you) roms. Its has nothing to do with "hunting" because its a completely different ballgame when you have the CMDA "Vogue" from Sprint.

I'm not trying to sound like an ass over this, but if you are "so disappointed" in Vogue ROMs... you might want to step up to the plate and do something about it. I know that is what I am trying to do by learning how to build a ROM. There is a lot of whining and b00n-ness in the Vogue forum, I think it has to do to the fact that this phone is *still* rather new to this community.
As far as the kitchens are concerned, (more or less) they are the same approach. It just bottom lines to the fact that there is a time requirement to build one and the necessity to actually sit down and learn something rather than pointing and clicking. I feel that there is an art to this since we don't have a GUI-based kitchen for the Titan or the Vogue. Because of this, I think more thanks needs to go to the people leading this battle (Cokeman, DogGuy, etc).
Again, I don't mean to incite anything, but complaining doesn't help the community in any way. I guess I have read too much of it lol. I apologize in advance if anyone gets upset over this *end rant*
In case you haven't seen it yet, a few Windows Mobile 6.1 ROMs have recently been uploaded.
You also might want to check out PPCGeeks.com Vogue Forum as there is a lot more activity there than here.
To be honest, I agree with Mr.Geoff...
I'd love to get down and dirty with ROM cooking, hell I might become the next Helmi.
Anyways, I can't start doing anything as I don't know where to start. If you can point me in the right direction, I should be able to take it from there.
I would like to learn how to do this myself, but, I've found it hard to get information to get started. I know this place is full of info, but when I search I can't seem to figure out were to even start. One thing I'd like to know before I do anything is how to make a backup of my current ROM and Radio and anything else that I might want to put back after a change. Do you have any good links or info to start by backing up my current device?

I have had to wander a lot on XDA and PPCGeeks to find the information I needed. There has/is a lot of info in the Hermes, Trinity, and Kaiser sections.
Attached is a Word document that does a pretty good job of giving you an idea of adding stuff to your custom ROM. I would give credit to the person that made it, but I don't remember who that is.
The software for creating an oem package that was mentioned in the document is not free, but there is also something else out there that does an acceptable job (and I use it). Again, I would give credit where it's due, but I don't remember where it came from (I think I found it on this site).
This should give you guys a decent understanding on what needs to be done. The temporary kitchen is on PPCGeeks. If you guys aren't a member there, I suggest you become one It will be well worth your time.

Radioshack employee huh? I'm on the same exact plan and only because I work at Radioshack. You going to get the network card and the unlimited interent for just $30 a month too? That's what I'm using. Rev A really is quite a bit faster than Rev 0.

Idk if this is the right section, but my question is, I have the t-mobile tp2 and I was wondering if all the tweaks and other things on this site will work with my version of it. Also how to get cracked programs and games? I know on the Iphone you jailbrake it also how do I get the clock like everyone else has and the backgrounds?

Dude,
In answer to your question, yes the tweaks will work with your phone. What you need to do it spend some serious time reading. There is a lot on this site and it should take you a while just reading before you ever actually do anything. Unfortunately for you, most people will not tell you how to do it, you need to read up on it for yourself so that you learn how it is done. There is a seriously big difference between someone just showing you how to do it and you researching it on your own. To be honest, that is the best way to do it since you will also learn a lot more about what can be done just through reading the threads. Good luck, and happy reading.
Speed...
I've already read about 40 pages of things to do with the phone, if I was some hardcore enthusiast then yeah I would go that route, but unlike others I just want my phone to look nice and perform well and have stuff others dont have.
Welcome to forums,
Then just read this one:

Good luck and enjoy!
Ok, guys. So I bought this phone called the evo 4g on the first day it came out. I called so many radioshacks that its not even funny how many I called. Ever since I've been in love with this phone that my girlfriend is getting jealous of it . I have searched through every forum of android (phandroid, android central, androidandme, youtube, androidpolice, etc.) I really want to learn more about this android platform from the basic terms to the development. What kind of books should I get for a noob like me? Or if you guys know of other websites that can look into. I know that it won't be an easy task but I am willing to put the necessary time and effort into this. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
thanks.
I love android so much that every day I look into the xda forums just to see whats new. Thanks xda for having this awesome forum.
Just learn java.
Then download all the tools and develop from eclipse.
It is a bit of a pain of a setup process, but once its done, its just a matter of learning java.
Have fun.
I recommend going to http://developer.android.com/ That's the official developer site. Just browse through getting started and move on through the other stuff. As said before, go the eclipse route, its all outlined there. I don't know much Java yet, but their tutorials will give you a good idea how apps work. To really make apps effectively you need to know Java and XML.
I also got some books from here: http://commonsware.com/. You buy a fairly cheap subscription for a year of having access to all their books and updates to those books. I don't think they've updated for 2.2 yet, but they are up to 2.1 with revisions coming soon for 2.2.
Those are probably the two best sources I've found so far. Your other option is App Inventor from Google. Its a visual developing environment. Its fairly easy to use and a cool concept, but won't really let you do as much yet. But you can test basic development there: http://appinventor.googlelabs.com/
I would also suggest just read through these forums often. You learn a lot through tinkering and seeing what others are doing.

thanks for your help guys, I'll look into it. Yeah, I know that why I like this forum.
So I've noticed a lot of people have asked about running android on windows mobile, but I can't seem to find any information on the opposite. Preferrably I just want to run an emulator, but understand if that's not feasible.
I know the big question here will be "Why would you ever want to do that?!" and my answer is simple. X-Com. I want to play X-Com on my phone and the only portable version I can find is this one
http: pocket-ufo.en.softonic.com/pocketpc
(Sorry about breaking rules and posting a link as a new member, but this obviously isn't me trying to get people to look at a dodgy porn site or anything, just showing the program I'm trying to get to work)
As such I'm wanting to do what I have to so that I can spend my time re-living my childhood while on public transport.
Thanks in advance for any answers guys.
Hi, you may very well even get flamed for posting this question .
It has been explained many times that this is not likely to happen, for reasons like windows not being open source and having no license to run it on a device that is not designed for WinMo.
The reason that you find android running on WinMo devices is that android is open source and free.
Thanks mate, I appreciate the reply. I'd figured as much from other posts, but was kinda hoping there'd be a way to port games from one to the other. Not knowing anything about this kind of thing, I've got no idea if that's possible.

Could be possible to 'port' a game over if it were open source...and you found someone willing to do it ofcourse. Why not ask the devs of the game if they intend to make an android version.
Hi everyone! So... While for my usage this is still a great device, I'm starting to be kind of fed up with the stock firmware. And apparently there has been no big developments on the ZE551ML. So, an horrible idea came to my mind. Why can't I compile an AOSP ROM myself? Altought I don't have any experience, I'm actually quite good with PCs and technology in general. And I'd like to give it a try. So, basically..... Is it possible? I don't want any particular thing, just a stock Google experience, preferibly on Oreo. I've found a lot of guides and also this https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/B01AOKYCZY which should make it quite easy for me to at least try.
Is what I'm thinking possible or are we talking about something impossible? Also, is there some particular things I need to pay attention to for this device?
Please, be kind. I know that what I'm saying is basically "Hey everyone, noone has ever done something and I, without any experience, like to try it just cause I'm bored, can you give some advice?" but... I'd like to try!
Edit: or is there some online tool / VirtualBox preconfigured machine that's "ready to go"?
