Idk if this is the right section, but my question is, I have the t-mobile tp2 and I was wondering if all the tweaks and other things on this site will work with my version of it. Also how to get cracked programs and games? I know on the Iphone you jailbrake it also how do I get the clock like everyone else has and the backgrounds?

Dude,
In answer to your question, yes the tweaks will work with your phone. What you need to do it spend some serious time reading. There is a lot on this site and it should take you a while just reading before you ever actually do anything. Unfortunately for you, most people will not tell you how to do it, you need to read up on it for yourself so that you learn how it is done. There is a seriously big difference between someone just showing you how to do it and you researching it on your own. To be honest, that is the best way to do it since you will also learn a lot more about what can be done just through reading the threads. Good luck, and happy reading.
Speed...
I've already read about 40 pages of things to do with the phone, if I was some hardcore enthusiast then yeah I would go that route, but unlike others I just want my phone to look nice and perform well and have stuff others dont have.
Welcome to forums,
Then just read this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=524655
Good luck and enjoy!

Thanks asshole. Seems you don't know how to search either since you didn't send me a link... If you don't have anything to offer to the thread, don't say anything at all.

"Arguing on the internet is like winning the Special Olympics, even if you win your're still retarded"
Bearing that in mind ill just say this: If you searched (or even looked at the first page) you would find exactly what you are looking for, how do you think i learn't all this stuff? not one useless thread like this i can tell you...
"We" don't get paid to help people, so we find it a bit annoying when people ask questions that have been answered at least 5 times already....
Have a nice day
[Edit]
Just looking through your recent posts and almost all your questions have been answered before and/or are in the wiki so I'll just give it to you again in case you missed it before

Yet, You still haven't show me a link. I dont see anything on the front page like you said. And that's good, you shouldn't be paid, because you're doing a horrible job.

to quote a great sig:
"Give a man a link, and he will solve his problem that day. Teach a man to use search, and he will solve his own problems for life."
Really, all this and you could have spent 5 minutes searching and had your answer by 12:00 (GMT)
Here's a new one...
"I don't know the answer to the question, so I'll post a stupid reply and ruin the thread."
Both the 1st and 2nd pages of this thread contain WM5 ROM threads, perhaps you could read them, discover the +'ves and -'ves of each one and decided for yourself?
Some people...
No, there's not.
I beg to differ
Just a few that caught my eye
See, That wasn't so hard. I was searching for threads with WM 5 in them, and non show up in the results.
Oooooo... that was a funky 5 minutes, eh??? Now now children, let's not upset the ROM builders
I am also very very curious about this human behavior:
People would ask before they think;
People would post questions and request for helps (and angry about not getting any help from perfectly strangers), when they do not want to invest their own time to read through the threads which contain the answers they have been looking for. Obviously, they prefer to waste other people's time...
The same questions have been answered over, and over, and over, and over, again, and again, and again, ...
Learn the lesson, RTFM (Read The F*** Manual), or RTFT (Read The F*** Threads), ...
Put your handbags away children.
It's not hard to look around a bit for information before asking - the layout is such that you can probably find what you want easily.
But coming back with a sh1tty reply is not helpful and doesn't add to the atmosphere of what is generally a good board.
That's my two-bob's worth. A bit of common sense and civility goes a long way. hehe.
Its been a long time since i've been part of this grate forum, i always use a search and 90% of the time i find thread or post which is relevent to my quary.
Search can be the best tool for some body if peoples know how to use it.
You know sometimes people tend to get nervous and impatient to look for something around!!
Then you only need to handle them with some kinda care huh? Needless to say a little time and bengo, there you'll find it. Just open up your eyes and look around dont be so spoon-fed!!
Seriously windowsrookie, educate yourself by looking through the universal topics on WM5, otherwise you'll probably screw up your machine when updating it anyway.
Spend a bit of time on it mate.

Well said, tyl. A bit of research goes a long way... I foolishly upgraded my radio ROM before properly reading the boards and fried my universal. Totally pointless excercise since there was nothing wrong with the original ROM.
Lesson's don't have to be learnt the hard way
Geez, I can't believe we still get people like windowsrookie who goes around wasting people's time (let alone his own time). Seriously, just search, search and search!
It should be the case that a noob can't post until he's done so many searches ROFL!!! (look at my joining date!)
As a famous green guy once said... "You are young, but you will learn."
well I've just order this phone and wondering where to start.
First how to modify? I was reading something about codes?
Second the what kind of software updates, performance mods.
Third cosmetic stuff.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, possible a list of stuff you guys would do to your touch out of the box.
Read everything you can get your hands on here and the other forums ... then read some more before you do any updates ... then do it really slow ... ad a few things then test ... add a few more ... test some more ... once you figure out what you will use and what you won't ... read some more before you ever consider flashing a rom ... just my two cents
fuzzy
yeah thats what i planned on attempting, but there is sooooo much info on these subjects, and it seems like you just get taken to another tread to another tread.
-so i guess if someone could give me a good first and second step of stuff to do. I think by then can handle it.
examples:
-does the touch come with windows pro. 6.1 straight out of the box or does it need to be upgraded?
-what about the Rev A upgrade I have been reading out?
-Then I was reading somewhere else or possible on a youtube video, a guy adding some software to make it run more efficiently.
so yup just some basic questions if guys could help out, thanks.

touch has 6.0. can be upgraded. for how to: look here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=17473
there are plenty of 6.1 roms out there both here on xda and over at ppcgeeks.
become a member of ppcgeeks.com if you are not already, that is whats really going to help you. that is also where the youtube thing is. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=6623&highlight=youtube
rev a upgrade seems to not be coming out for the touch for at least another few months, but ppl will be going crazy enough that when it does, you will know for sure.
feel free to ask more questions
but the best thing you can do is to READ READ READ (and that is what everyone will tell you too lol (well mostly)).
good luck!

Welcome to the board. You gotta be careful of that question. You have like 30 chefs on here and you're probably going to get flamed for not researching. I guess the best way to decide which ROM is the best is to decide what you want to use your device for. Then start reading. Or you could cook your own. Before I started cooking, I used JoshKoss, CRC, Mick Smith's. They are all good. Just read my friend.

WHOA WHOA slow down you over-achiever. Take a deep breath. Now, this should be your first read. It has a BUNCH of info. The site has a WIKI also that answers a ton of stuff. Yes, I have a Yahoo ID. It's in my signature, just send an invite.
lol...yes indeed. Your question is almost begging to be flamed. Though you may also get lucky and get away with it Like the above poster said there isn't anything like a specific 'best' ROM for a phone. Its a personal preference. The wiki is an excellent place for you to get started on getting to understand everything you need to know about you phone. Use the search option for any question you have. Your bound to find relevant results on almost any type of search. Happy reading and welcome to the board.

i just saw so many ROMS... and i hardly know what they are.. just now trying to find out.. somebody enlighten me pls..
i am reading, reading..
thanks..
Start with CRC's rom.. good, fast, stable
This cant be flamed, BTW!!!! this can be great apreciatted.
I meet many designers and has magic on their hands (and HD's full of tricks on photoshop's projects!) well if you want to start... you can talk with joshkoss, CRC, abuzalsa and many others... cause at this time they are trying to change some icons in .PNG and .ICO full glossy pics maybe 32 x 32 or less like the Notification Icons in upper bar... so talk to him about your skills maybe you can give us new Icons or something... read about the images on the ROMS... what extension, or what kind, sizes, and wheigts...
Hope you can find your work here.
I had to go to work after I installed launcherpro, so when I hit the home button I made sense my default. Now I can't find how to make launcherpro come back when I hit the home button. Help?
Go to settings, press on applications, and then manage applications.
Find HTC Sense, press on it, and then press the Clear Defaults button.
Now when you press the Home button, you'll get the list of launcher/home applications again.
Thank you (this might be the most helpful site of all time haha)
Anyway I can get sense widgets to run on it? I really liked the htc sense standard clock with weather/weather animation.
Or a good free substitute. I'm good with either.

do a little research and you will find plenty of replacements..
And, contribute something to the community instead of just asking for things..you'll be amazed at how much more helpful people will be if you don't just ASK for things all the time...

This if my first smartphone, I have a very limited knowledge of computers, and a friend recommended this site because he said it was a great place to learn how to get the full potential of my phone. I've looked through the past 6 pages and the only questions I've been able to answer have already been answered because they were basic "where's the link for" question. Explain to me how I'm supposed to contribute if I can't learn by asking...
well, you could start by learning to use GOOGLE to search for answers to these questions, and when you find something worthwhile, you can offer to share it here..
The best way to become proficient at ANYTHING is to research it and solve the problems yourself...you'll be amazed at how easy and gratifying that is, and, then, you will have something to share here with others..
"Sharing is caring" works BOTH ways..
Have you installed AppBrain on your phone? Have you gone to the website?
Have you searched for "replacement widgets" for EVO on Google?
The options go on and on, you just have to put a little mental effort into it, and you'll be amazed at what you'll find
Had YOU asked (instead of assuming) you would have known I did look and I didn't find any good replacements to the sense clock that were free (I'd like to know my options before I try something like beautiful widgets). Yes, I used google
and I've never heard of AppBrain.
And I hardly consider the THREE questions I've asked on this board to be detrimental to the community. I'm new to Android phones okay? I'm glad you're all big and bad because you know what you're doing. However, this was part of my "researching" that I should apparently be doing.
Oh, and only because your know it all attitude bothers me: the best way to learn something is to teach it.

In life there are givers and takers..which one are YOU?
Everything I learned about computers, cell phones, and everything electronic was done by hard work and research ON MY OWN..I bought a 386 computer many many years ago and sat up every night until 2 or 3am reading and practicing on it so I could learn and be able to advance my skill level..I've done the SAME thing with most other new technologies over the years, and, even though its tough at times, when you learn how to solve a problem on your own, you are on your way to true intelligence.
The problem with people like YOU is that the minute the going gets tough, you want someone else to do the hard work for you..
People on this board and every other board will always help someone out who tries to find answers on his own FIRST..
This is sad. Why are you so intent on making me feel like my life has been one giant virus, sapping others? That tells me you regret the fact that there's an easier way to do what you did, and you're jealous. And you shouldn't be, you will have a VASTLY greater knowledge of computers than I ever will because of the about of time you put into it. So...chill
While that's a beautiful story, that tells me one thing: you had/have WAAAY more free time than I did/do. I'm glad your morally opposed to someone asking for help, but the fact of the matter is you HAVE to ask for help when you have limited resources. Should poor african countries just "figure out" how to pay for TB medication when their economies are in ruins? Why can't they look to people with EXTRA resources for help GETTING THEM STATED? My limited resource ? Mine has been time. Balancing school, athletics, job for tuition, and squeezing out a social life robs me of free time. I don't have time to spend 5 hours a day researching about a phone. It'd be cool if I did...but I don't. So asking for help getting started is my plan. If you don't like that, then ignore me.
And again with the assumptions...child, if you knew HALF of what I've accomplished in my life you wouldn't say that "going gets tough" crap haha. My accomplishments have just been in a different field than yours

Fancy widget looks like the sense flip clock
http://i.imgur.com/fMjEg.png
I think it is free.
I saw that one! It was taken off the market though because htc was unhappy with how similar it was to their applications. Which sticks, because from reviews it seems to have been very good. Anyone have a .apk by any chance?
Edit: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OQS1ELEU
I have attached the .apk file of the Fancy Widget. I hope that will help.

I am sorry I have to chime in here and stick up for the OP. You are just an ass. His questions were valid and didn't deserve your flamage. He admitted to not knowing everything thing and was asking for a little assistance. Its asses like you that mess up the experience for other users. If your so intelligent than what the hell are you doing on this board. I would rather have someone on here that is kind and helps when he can instead of some ass that thinks he is sooo smart that he has to put others down. Grow up and find something else to do and leave people alone. You are not needed here. You are completely useless.

hi all!
iam getting this phone along with my friend next week.. switching from metro pcs finally and had a few questions..
1. Overall reviews from people of MAJOR Pro's/Cons with this phone?
2. Performance upgrades/mods etc that will improve significantly the function and process of the phone?
3. Any additional info tips, etc that anyone would like to share or consider important?
There are a few threads around here already that contain a lot of this stuff.

There's not much you can do right now without root. If you read the various forums though I'm saying you can see some of the issues people are having and watch how the solution process is unfolding right now (being such a new forum). Of course other users might have more information to offer!
