fring or qik by far
but fring allows you to chat up to 4 people and qik only 1 by 1 so i use fring but the better quality is qik
Both support ios video chatting
Ok ill redownload qik and give it a try... Never used it to chat... I loved its live streaming... Forgot about that...
Tried tango but it only works well on 4g

I use tango, and love it. works good for me on 4g, 3g, and wifi.
I also like the fact that I can use it for any android to android video chat and iphone to android video chat.
Im sure fring does the same though.

Agreed! Good for people on the dark side (iPhones)!
+1 for fring. The newer version s of Quik work much better, but still don't work well for me in slow 3G environments. Fring has proven to be more efficient, working quite well for me even under low bandwidth conditions.
Good luck!

I miss Fring when it had Skype, any other apps out there?
I use iMovicha. I haven't had any issues with it.
qik now has a desktop app for videocalling but they still have that stupid $5 a month charge for better video chat
Where is this desktop app? I never can find it. Qik in Touch still only does one way streaming from what I can tell.

I was only able to find the Qik in Touch also. The one way streaming is a bummer and it is pretty useless to me because I think you need to login on the computer to see what your are streaming. Why would I give someone else my username and password so they can watch me.
Didn't hear anything about a separate app, wish that Skype would add video chat sometime soon.

The quality isn't perfect, but iMovicha is the only one that works for now.

Are you sure that's the desktop (PC) client?
Is there an app? Or do you have to use the touch Youtube site?
from what i've read, the first time you visit a youtube clip, it will ask you to download an extension, and after this it will play it like would any other video. it's not a seperate application persay, but merely just an extension to IE to allow you to play the youtube clips.
I could be wrong on this, but I have seen videos of youtube playing, so it's definitely there.

I just read on Wikipedia it will run it in a sort of media player app, but they state that Adobe Flash 10.1 is on the way so this could be improved, or hell, there is the possibility updates will bring Youtube apps and better support.
There is built-in support for viewing the videos, but Google will need to develop a separate Youtube app if you want the off-browser experience.

Chances are that Google are already working on an application for YouTube.
App in Marketplace that plays Youtube over 3g is craptastic, horrible quality over 3g. Seriously over 3g the quality is worse than on a Blackberry. WTF MS?
Microsoft doesn't own YouTube, so I dunno why you're asking them.
And the quality is probably poor because it's playing 240 or 360p version of the videos instead of HQ.
That's why Google needs to release a YouTube App.
Microsoft has more important things to worry about, like, the actual operating system.
The youtube experience on WP7 is amazing.. its the first phone i ever used that didn't require a full fledged app. I sort of like it that m.youtube.com works out of the box and there isn't "an app for that" - with that being said, people are free to use the youtube api and make their own apps and google may do just that. However with m.youtube.com the quality for me is amazing. I don't watch it over 3g since AT&T rapes us with 3g bandwidth costs but over wifi the quality is beautiful. M.youtube.com also works with your login id so you can easily play your favorite and surf the website. It isn't a pretty package, but hell, sometimes its better that the web integration works this well rather than waiting for a required app
Apparently the youtube app adjusts the video settings if not on wifi. Which doesn't make sense since my 3g connection can more than handle youtube....
Maybe contact the developer and see if we can get settings adjustments.
edit: nevermind, it lists microsoft as the developer so I guess maybe an update will help?
Woah!!! just watch a nice HD crystal clear quality vid on youtube on this beautiful screen... my question is... is there a way to watch a high quality vid like that over 3G? i did set the option in youtube to high quality but its not the same as wifi?
thanks
I too would like to see HD over 3G, but I doubt you can hack YouTube app so easily. I can imagine they are trying to protect the user experience as most of the time on 3G the HD videos take ages to buffer and have to rebuffer part of the way through. I wifi hotspot to my Transformer and it CAN play HD in its YouTube app. Even though its my phones 3g connection.
Hmm... maybe the Honeycomb YouTube app can run on ICS? Need to root this!
you could try tubemate, if it works, and download the video first at the quality you want and then watch it.
Sorry if this is considered "thread hijacking", but this got me curious. Does ICS have a special version of the youtube app that allows actual HD steaming? Or is it the same type of "HQ" steaming found in the pre-ICS app?

OK. Because of ICS I am having a hard time finding something to suit my needs.
I work a lot with professional musicians and like to record and upload video information. I am also into political activism, and what I would like is a video app that records and streams/uploads to a cloud as you record or shortly after.
I used to use QIK, but it isn't available. After sideloading it, it has now become a limited service. (On my EVO it was unlimited, now it's like 50 videos or something)
Any way to upload videos this way, avoiding Facebook, Twitter, and all the other ways that publish directly to social media sites?
I liked this option because I could record like 5-6 takes and only "share" the one I like on Facebook or Twitter. Thank you in advance.
Have you already tried Justin.tv Broadcaster? I don't know if it works with ICS and if the video quality is good.
You can use the Nexus camera app and upload later to the cloud via ftp.
No, thank you though. I'm hoping for something that uploads to a cloud I don't own. I have an FTP, but I'm hoping for something easier.

Have you guys seen the youtube of Samsung Galaxy 3....Man I love the video player capability of minimizing while you can still type sms while watching the movie. I think it's an awesome idea. Is there any video app can do that?? Just cant believe HTC have not even include any video app other than the CRAPPY useless HTC watch.
There you go my friend

You can use different skins for the player too - mac one looks very polished.
Also blow your mates away by having two videos open at the same time whilst browsing the net - blinkin awesome

Nice.....but really bad cant make it full screen again???? you can only resize but cant make it full screen again. Think the dev should implement this feature.
Also very much a gimmick to me. Like Facetime. Or Siri. Will rarely ever be used outside of the 1st week/month, trust me
When I was watching unpacking galaxy then been thinking what a stupid idea is a watch movie and in the same moment writing sms, now I see people like that.
That seems so pointless and gimmicky. All touchscreen apps (every app you would download/use) is designed to use the entire screen. With a small video playing on the screen you are going to blocking at least SOME elements of the UI, in many cases rendering the app of the moment useless.
The S3 is a vomitted-up mix of software gimmicks and bad industrial design. The US versions are nothing more than a S2 with an LTE radio. Thanks, but no thanks.
