Stronger signal and higher speeds...?

Since I got to work this morning me and all of my Sprint subscribing coworkers are experiencing better signal strength and higher speeds than usual and is especially noticeable in places notorious for crappy signal... The same at my apartment.
Either a new tower went up.. Which is doubtful... Or is this part of the rollout of the system upgrades?
Central CT here... Anyone else noticed anything?

Damn, I am waiting to make the jump from VZW to this phone.... With speeds like the ones that are being reported I don't know if that's even logical.

My 4g is flying. Usually I only get about 6mbps and right now I just hit 14, with 1 bar. 3g is more or less the same

I'm only talking 3G.... And we have horribly overcast skys and rain which usually murders signals... I've got a good feeling about this... I'm afraid to update my PRL lol

Mine aren't better, but something is going on. Signal has been very erratic on both my GSII and my 3D. In the process of working on towers?

I'm lucky if I get 2 mb on 4g in St. louis.

Mine defintely went up. Yesterday on speedtest I got a 102kb down. This morning in the same spot I got 128kb down. Watch out I'm flyin now!!!

3G speeds still, but, respectable. I ordinarily pull 200kbps to 400kbps with 0 to 1 bar at my desk. I'm getting 600 to 1300kbps with 1 to 3 bars.... Buried deep in a steel building. Outside I'm seeing full bars and hover around 2mbps where I usually get 600kbps ish with 2 or 3 bars. Heavy overcast with moderate rain.

I'd be interested to see how the speeds hold up later on in the day. Mine are always respectable in the morning and then go to sh*t in the afternoon hours.

Something is afoot!

I can confirm this and i am in dfw area.
Ppl rooted their phone and blaming on developers for loss of signals past couple days.

Still slow if not slower than usual where I live in Culver City.

btw, my 3g on speedtest typically registers like 50kbps, but in actuality, I do way better on app dls and webpages. I do trust the 4g readouts, though, which tend to be around 4-5 mbps.

My data getting worse?

Bought the phone 3 days ago. Slowest 3g data i ever seen on a phone. Sometimes no bars at all when i know i have excellent coverage area. SMH

call tech support, or better get them on chat. It's easier.
....tell them you have abysmally slow data speeds and want a data refresh. Every time I have activated a phone on Sprint since the E3D came out (that's been like 6 or 7 phones, lol) I have had to do this because of ABSURDLY slow data speeds....and this helped a ton.
If that doesn't help then maybe it's a hardware defect...if that doesn't help then the Sprint blows in your area.

Yup me and my friend are getting almost double the 3g speed and better 4g speed for the past week or two

My 3g has been super fast over the last few days.
Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII EPIC 4g Touch on XDA Premium!

I'm not sure where people that are getting better data live. If it's in a major city it would make sense though. I would bet that places like NYC, LA, Miami ect may be getting the network beefed up in anticipation of the Iphone.
The last thing Sprint needs is to get crappy reviews on the Iphone due to a sluggish network.

My 3g is next to useless. And I live in San Antonio.

Bars have nothing to do with data...I have seen 0-1 bars and still pulled 600kbps DATA

I live in Conley ga which is about 5 miles long lol... but it's only about 15 miles from atlanta so I don't know....

I'm in Milwaukee. 3g is barely passable I unless you are near a freeway or the airport... Then I can pull 250kB down.
The rest of the time I average 30kB out less.

I live in the middle of Phoenix, AZ and i get about 0.50mbps down on average and we dont have 4G here.

I'm in Culver City - not far from LA - I'm getting 400k with 3G and rarely get 4G.

My data speeds have doubled in the last 5 days. I'm loving it.

I had similar issue turn off/on your mobile data and airplane mode.

Ive had really crappy service in houston over the last couple days. Been having to just keep wifi on because nothing wants to load properly on regular data.

Same here, Houston coverage has been bad for the past week or so. In my house where I used to get like three bars on 4g, now I only get edge. Don't know what's happening here, could it be the refarming thing they got going on?

I hope thats what it is. My download speed hasnt been too bad, 8-10 usually but the upload has been horrible, .3-.5 typically. But compared to the 15+ download and 2-3 upload I got the first couple weeks with the phone its noticable. The biggest problem though is that it seems to randomly just not be connected or want to connect to the net.

i have absolutely abysmal 4g speed around where i live (south san francisco, says its on 4g, geting about 30 kbps down). If i turn on pandora in my car it'll sometimes refuse to play and when I drive to an area where I know there's good 4g speeds, it still doesnt play. The phone says its on 4g but the down/up stream lights never blink, so I have to switch off and on my mobile data to get it working again.
Another incident was a similar issue, but instead it didnt have the 4g icon at all, it wasnt even on edge! All I had in the notifications bar was my battery and the t-mo signal. In this case I had to restart the phone.

Data issues.

If you are on tmibile with the note 2 and having data issues. You are not alone. It's tmobile side. I would advice people to call and let them know. My data has been max 300kbps inside my home and now since yesterday at work the same. I have to step outside to get full speed never happened before. And I dont think its because of root.

Does your 4G even work? Mine is stuck on Edge since yesterday. I live on the 4th floor of my house (roof-ish) so really shouldn't have problems up here. In fact, I never did, until literally yesterday morning.

I live on the 3rd floor apartment with nothing behind my building and the tower is visible from my patio. Yes my says 4g all day long.

I had similar issues when T-Mobile was refarming their towers in my area to add 3.5g via 1900 mhz, especially midnight to morning. Not sure if that's your issue, though.
Signal would get weak, speed slow, sometimes only edge. Lasted about a week or so.

Galaxy s2 and wife's amaze still running perfect 4g speeds. This Note 2 gets stuck in EDGE all the time. Can't even use it. anyone have any luck flashing another rom and getting up to 4g speeds?

I have pretty good 4G service on my Note 2 right now. Sometimes it'll get a little slow but more times than not, it's very fast.

The high speed are just two steps outside on my patio and the low ones are on my couch and the tower is 5 miles away.

I'm not sure whether it's because of root or not, but it has to be the phone. My girlfriend has a different phone than mine and hers was working perfectly inside and outside, whereas mine would not want to load anything, it would drop to edge and then to no signal at all. After getting a replacement phone, it's working fine.

Just called 611 asked for tech support on the automated system. When you get the tech you will have to do a new apn but not to worry if you tether it wont affect it. They will do a number of other trouble shoot things. Just tell them its been happening to you for a couple weeks. If they say call us back tell them no. Ask to open up a service ticket. All is well in my home now. Let me know if this helps. And you can also call customer care first and tell them that im not happy with my data speed connection and see if they give you credit like they did to me. Be nice of course. Good luck

Edit :Gave Samsung a call and they said its the device itself so their replacing it free. To anyone with this problem call Samsung you have a 1 year warranty I thought it was going to cost me money

If t-mobile hasnt refarmed my area, wouldnt that mean I am in a 3G area? Isnt utms:3 technically 3G? Thats what I show in settings, getting 12mb max downloads.

No issues over here. I can tell you, I don't need 42mbps, and I'm 100% satisfied with my speeds after Sprint's garbage. Getting 7.72mbps now, and I've had them for 20 days and already used 10gb. When
I forced my device to run 3g and Edge, it was frightening, similar to what I would get with Sprint, but I've never had issues with 4G or staying on 4G in my area.

You guys aren't alone, but I think this is a tower issue not a phone issue. Possibly a new modem might fix this.

Well at home, by San Francisco, I get 15-23 Mbps download speeds, and now I'm in Las Vegas for business, and am only getting 100-500 Kbps.
I called and let them know of the issue, and they were going to do a field ticket where they actually take out the phone and test it on that tower to see what is going on.
I think anyone else having this issue should do the same. My guess is it has something to do with the refarming of the 1900 Mhz band.

Agreed. Like I said earlier just call them. They will take care of the issue. Takes a little bit but they get it done. And when speaking to tech support be detailed of where the issues are. Street names and such.

Is anyone else losing 4g?

Just curious if anyone else seems to be losing 4g signals in area where your 4g was fine before?
I'm in the Queens area of New York and it's seems my 4g comes and goes more often than before. As if there is no tower in the area though out the day but later in the evening it pops backup.
