Stronger signal and higher speeds...?

Since I got to work this morning me and all of my Sprint subscribing coworkers are experiencing better signal strength and higher speeds than usual and is especially noticeable in places notorious for crappy signal... The same at my apartment.
Either a new tower went up.. Which is doubtful... Or is this part of the rollout of the system upgrades?
Central CT here... Anyone else noticed anything?

Damn, I am waiting to make the jump from VZW to this phone.... With speeds like the ones that are being reported I don't know if that's even logical.

My 4g is flying. Usually I only get about 6mbps and right now I just hit 14, with 1 bar. 3g is more or less the same

I'm only talking 3G.... And we have horribly overcast skys and rain which usually murders signals... I've got a good feeling about this... I'm afraid to update my PRL lol

Mine aren't better, but something is going on. Signal has been very erratic on both my GSII and my 3D. In the process of working on towers?

I'm lucky if I get 2 mb on 4g in St. louis.

Mine defintely went up. Yesterday on speedtest I got a 102kb down. This morning in the same spot I got 128kb down. Watch out I'm flyin now!!!

3G speeds still, but, respectable. I ordinarily pull 200kbps to 400kbps with 0 to 1 bar at my desk. I'm getting 600 to 1300kbps with 1 to 3 bars.... Buried deep in a steel building. Outside I'm seeing full bars and hover around 2mbps where I usually get 600kbps ish with 2 or 3 bars. Heavy overcast with moderate rain.

I'd be interested to see how the speeds hold up later on in the day. Mine are always respectable in the morning and then go to sh*t in the afternoon hours.

Something is afoot!

I can confirm this and i am in dfw area.
Ppl rooted their phone and blaming on developers for loss of signals past couple days.

Still slow if not slower than usual where I live in Culver City.

btw, my 3g on speedtest typically registers like 50kbps, but in actuality, I do way better on app dls and webpages. I do trust the 4g readouts, though, which tend to be around 4-5 mbps.

No 4G in Tampa,FL

Is it me, or has the 4G been lost in Tampa? It could just be my phone, but I haven't been able to connect to 4g in over a week.

It was working (at half the speed I usually get) 2 Fridays ago. But, if I'm not mistaken, isn't Tampa scheduled for LTE by the end of the year? If so, they could be working on the towers in your area.

I'm in Tampa as well and there is 4g its just hard to find. I live over in Seminole heights and there is a tower less than a mile from me and I've gotten it but its very weak. My 3g was giving it a run for its money...

If I understand correctly, 4G Wimax towers (owned by Clearwire) should have nothing to do with 3G CDMA / 4G LTE towers (owned by Sprint).

I have to turn 4G off and on a few times to get a decent connection and when I do it disconnects a minute later.. best places I've seen are near USF and on 275 between Westshore Blvd & downtown. Everywhere else sucks. Also I've never once had a good connection indoors

I move around quite frequently and I find a decent amount of areas that have 4g, even in places that you wouldn't think it would be. If your near a Sprint store then most cases there will be 4g available. Inside the Tampa Pitcher Show, across from Sprint store, you can get service inside easily. Places out in Brandon and Valrico as well, in fact I was using 4g yesterday in IHOP out on 60. If LTE is covered as much as the current 4g then I'll be very happy... Oh and I thought I read that it was coming here this summer according to that unofficial sprint build out site. I won't contemplate even getting an LTE phone before then since 4g is so readily available for me, and we know how good the 3g can be at times.....

Noooooooo you guys are all wrong. 4G is there but its just incognito and invisible.

I was just in Tampa yesterday and got 4G. Also got 4G in St Petersburg also.

is there a way to reset the 4g? for some reason I can't connect to it at all, after a data reset, network refresh, everything I can think of. is it possible to try to change the realm to clearwire instead of sprintpcs?

Mine seems to be working fine when Im closer to downtown.

I get it over in Seminole and I haven't had a problem yet. Maybe they're just working on towers

psst a little birdy told me july is when to look for some lte pickin's

So far, the only areas where i've gotten good 4g connections is near downtown, or closer to Oldsmar. I live in T-N-C and 4g is very sparatic (i think i spelled that right )

I have noticed its like that over on the east end of Fowler and Busch.. I'm not to sure why though.

We had a bad storm here in Virginia Friday, ever since service has been very spotty sometimes will have data sometimes i won't and if I'm real lucky nothing at all but when i do have data these are my speeds

I'm in Northern VA and it's been about the same here. But still a lot of places without power. Give it a day or 2 it should be better.

Yea I know, in my town on one side there is power and the other there isn't. that's what I thought the loss of signal was coming from the power outages in the surrounding areas but from reading in the spring community forums sprint employees are saying it's because of them updating equipment

Every sprint user in the DMV AREA is having horrible signal! I used to have good 4G at my buddy's house but not after that storm hit! So give it like a week some places in DC still having outages

Many places have horrible coverage. Though my signal from the Samsung is much weaker than my Palm Pre. Does other find that the signal strength sucks with the Samsung Galaxy SII Epic 4G's?

My signal cane back last night. But Its the seems the same with me the signal strength is not that great i only get 1-2 bars at my house with the ps2 but with my old moment, og evo, and evo 3d I get 3-4

My signal came back earlier this week stronger than ever. It is almost like sprint told the repair people to complete the network vision upgrade for my area while up there.

LAX 4g LTE

I'm at LAX today and notice that my 4g was on. So I took a screenshot and speed test for my fellow Los Angelers... Los Angelans? I'm guessing Sprint 4g LTE is here?

Here is another one in downtown area, specifically the Chinatown area.

I heard that LTE radios had been a complete disaster because of excessive battery drain.
Is this true?

Yep, ever since yesterday when I noticed that my radio was switching between 3g and 4g, the battery sucked, literally. I work from 9 to 6 and normally, my battery would last until I get home, around 30-40%. As you can see on the ss, I came home with under 10%. Is it because I need to update my radio? I'm still on LEN.

This just proves that sprints service is far better then any other service out there, LTE proved to be faster in speeds then At&t, T-Mobiles and comes pretty close to verizons speeds. This is only on its testing stages. just wait til their is full coverage, people just need to be patient instead of complaining and switching because they cant be patient lolz.

Yes this is true now but it will slow down a bunch in the future the more people the get LTE phones. Hopefully they have the bandwitch to keep up. We should see speeds of 6-8 Mbps when said and done.

It's only cause there isn't a lot of people on lte yet like Verizon. Just wait until people start using it.

Maybe so, but i seriously doubt sprints network bandwidth would be alot slower then wimax itself, i dont think sprint is gonna let that happen, have minimum speed for everyone of 4-6mbps, that would really piss alot of people off and make em switch after what they got put throught. They would loose alot of customers that are expecting more then the wimax predecessor.

i was on fremont between mission and coomonwealth it was strong conneceted there i move away from there though its gone just that fast but it was very fast and i men very fast

I work at LAX i got 4g. when i left home i take the 105E no signal of 4G at all Merged onto the 110N had no 4g signal till i hit Exposition blvd (USC area) and i kept signal all through downtown on the 10E until i hit the 5N after that i didn't get any 4g signal at all.

Ohmhgodohmygodohmygod. I'm in El Sereno, will post back if there's LTE here.
Edit: I barely get it in my house (I was scrambling all over the place because I kept going back to 3G) BUT OMG YESSSSSSS

I live in the middle of nowhere so our towers are packed beyond capacity and NV upgrades started a few months back
I like to break stuff!

I consistently get less than 10% of your download speed

At least Tucson has usable 3g. Come to Phoenix and you will average .3 mbps.

Anything below 100k is from my desk at work in downtown Portland, Oregon. Gotta love the 7/473 one. The 300k+ ones are from my living room in the burbs where I have wifi so I never use 3g there. I hope the LTE service is not so lackluster at work...

I'm in phoenix and my speeds are perfectly fine.

I would espect better speeds for paying 10 extra dollars a month for advance data. I have to use wifi most of the time when i am indoors.

well, my fastest speeds are at work (the tests at around 3am)
I work inside of a big steel building where sprint is basically the only carrier that gets perfect service inside my building. They've been upgrading the tower near my work a lot too. Last year I wasn't even getting half my current speed

My fastest speed might come close to matching your slowest test. The test result I see around hete are barly three digits, at 500kps down and 300up.

I feel kind of bad for you guys... I average about 2.5 down at my house on 3g I'm Baltimore, 25+ on lte ..
