Im currently on daily #69 and thinking about upgrading to the latest #111.
Should i upgrade to the latest? Im using the latest Telus radio as well. Is there a good kernel to use on top of the latest?
Cyanogenmod released 7.10 RC1 about two hours ago. Would recommend you go for that one instead of nightly 111. Mix it with LordModUE 4.5.1 and it should be a nice combo. Just be weary of battery drain issues if you flash the kernel version with 2 way call recording.
Full wipe is probably a good idea. Just nandroided and am about to flash myself.
I'm agree, prefer the 7.1 RC and you must do a full wipe because there is lot of changes between #69 and 7.1 RC. LordModUE is a very good option.

Do you guys recomend i flash all the nightly builds as they are updated?
and do i flash through CWM?
If a release candidate comes out we recommend you flash that... otherwise its up to you if you want to flash the nightlies.

And yes, you flash through CWM...
Don't forget to do a nandroid backup first!

Ill prob do it again when say 12 comes out depending onn reviews from people about it
From my permarooted 1209mhz G2 with CM7 nightly 6
If I flash the nightly cm7 builds as they are released, should I flash my current kernel to it, or should I just leave it. Also, which is the best nightly so far?

Any time you flash a nightly it will overwrite the existing kernel so if you have a preferred kernel you can flash it after flashing the ROM. I personally am staying on CM7 RC4 as there haven't been enough changes other than bug fixes that I feel the need to update to the latest nightly. The first post in the CM7 RC2.5 thread in android development has a lot.
The stock kernel many people say is really good though some great alternatives that I have used are Chad's Incredikernel and Cayniarb's Tiamat kernel, the second of which I am using for the Dinc.
But don't all of the nightlys have different kernels?
Not every new nightly has a change to the kernel but when flashing any nightly, it'll flash the kernel on that nightly as the kernel is always part of a CM rom.
I don't believe the kernel has changed in the nightlies since March.
My advice is to try out the kernel and if you are not satisfied with it you can flash your current kernel on top of it.
What features does it have that the stable 7.1 doesn't?
Can it be flashed over 7.1 without wiping data?
Would it even be worth it, or better to just wait for an official CM 9 release?
I was using that for a long time before I switched to ICS. I did not wipe going from the stable build to the nightlies. Just make a nandorid backup if you are worried but you should not have any problems flashing over your current cm7.1
Okay so I know what is CM9 is but what is the difference between CM9 and a CM9 nightly?
I've looked it up but couldn't really find anything about it.
A nightly is a rom that is build daily. The regular CM9 is build once an Update from google comes. Nightlys are sometiems unstable and mostly for advanced users and developers. If you don't know very much about android developing and flashing just go with the normal CM9 rom

Yeah, what he said....good advice.
I have tried CM7 but never the nightly versions. If you have to have to depend on your phone and don't want to deal with "possible" issues, just stick to the regular rom and skip the nightly versions. The regular versions get updated anyway as the bugs get worked out of the nightly versions.
Just wondering if anyone is still running this? I seen this is the last version before the 10.1 started. I want to run the CM10 because 10.1 still has some bugs.
Just some quick questions
1. Does MMS work?
2. Are there any major bugs?
Again this is for the 12/16 CM10 4.1.2 nightly.

im still running it and its perfect.. everything works and has great battery life.
im using the kt747 kernel with it and oc to 1.8
The latest nightly builds of CM have a FEW bugs...but still quite stable/usable. I run the 12/16 build every once in awhile, but the new nightly's are so damn smooth.
Also, give LiquidSmooth RC2 a try. Virtually bug free. The Stable release of LiquidSmooth has a few bugs, but again, still very stable.
If your going for a virtually BUG FREE AOSP Rom, I would advise LiquidSmooth RC2 with the latest BMS Kernel. Tweak it to OnDemand/Row : 126 min, 1512max, and you will be quite pleased.
Generally the CM versions up to the latest official release are very stable
As in, the latest official release was MB1 (4.1.2) so you can expect CM 4.1.2 to be very stable
Its when you go past the official release versions that you start encountering more bugs, like in CM 10.1 (4.2.1 and 4.2.2)
I just tried out Liquidsmooth. It's not a bad rom, just don't like the fact it looks like a theme.
Yeah I know CM uses a launcher as well, but overall it looks like a stock JB rom. Flashed cm10 nightly 12/16. Runs great with no issues or freezing. Once we get the official 4.2.2 I'll update to cm10.1.

If anyone uses cm10 (4.1.2) stable, I have the handoff update still if you want it.
