Hi all
I am looking at selling my Desire having got a Galaxy SII now.
I had rooted and love CM7 on it but want to get it back as close to stock for the potential purchaser and avoid any "support" issues.
The last stock ROM I tried performed terribly in terms of battery life ... can anyone recommend a stock ROM that performs well on an Orange UK ROM.

Custom ROMs you mean?? ARHD is the best at the moment! Your top priorities are met!
Also please take a look at the "no sound" thread, this is related to the telus desire hd, there are a few thing you need to know before rooting and flashing.

Assume you mean recommended Radio, not rom, it being 12.28e.60.140fU_26.04.02.17_M2. I was using that on CM7 and noticed a slight improvement in battery life, but more importantly it was not worse (didn't notice any improvement either) for reception, and as it's the one Lee recommends I'd run with it.
BTW I am currently running 26.05.05.27_M3 which is the latest Orange radio, again I have no issues with this either.
So i just got this phone today, coming from the tmo sgs2, i was wondering what was the best rom, im looking for best battery and performance, or should i just stay stock? do the roms atm make a big difference?
Hi all. As you can tell, I'm new here. I'm probably trying to revive a dead device... If I even can, that is.
So, this is how my story starts. My Galaxy 3 was destroyed by a dog. Let's just say my phone became a chew toy. My Galaxy was completely stock. After mourning its dreadful death, I had to revert to old faithful.
Here's the problems: Gingerbread is way too outdated for me. So I downloaded a Sense 3.6 ICS ROM. This ROM is my favorite. But it has this one very nasty flaw; the Wi-Fi and mobile service don't like each other.
Solution: I ask some veterans for the best ICS Sense ROM. I've tried viper... It's good, but way too slow for a daily driver. I tried a Cyanogen(excuse the spelling) Jelly Bean ROM and while fast and smooth, it had too many flaws. Worst of all, no sense!
So my main point... I know it's kinda old to even attempt bringing back up, but I'm a cheap ass, and want the best bang for my buck.
I love the ROM I have now because it's basically stock, but ICS. But the damned service curse! Why?!
Oh, and my last question. Is it possible to use the stock ROM and flash an ICS firmware to it? That is basically what I'm wanting. Sense with ICS, like stock with no bugs.
If anyone ever does trip across this forum and land into this thread... Help a brother out ):
My experience on Verizon (CDMA):
For ICS, either Ascension Oblivion or Viper. I ran both for a while - and added a B-Team kernel to overclock a bit, but kinda went overboard and wasn't satisfied with the battery life. Viper has a ton of customizations, but I found it to be a bit too heavy since I just wanted Verizon stock w/o the bloat.
After these two, I went back to the GB stock, minus the VZ bloat for a while. But now I'm running the latest Beanstalk (4.3?) and am relatively happy with it (with the ringer-fix patch). Granted, it's not Sense, but the only Sense-related feature I was interested in was the clock widget.
Hello all,
I just picked up a cheap DHD on Ebay and looking to root the phone at some point. I owned a DHD a few years back and loved the phone but then sold it and decided on the Nexus 4 which I have had for over a year.
New DHD arrived today, and I'm ready to play!!
I noticed most if not all of the custom Sense roms are ICS based. Were there any stable Jellybean/Sense (4 or 5) roms available for the DHD, safe as a daily driver with working camera, audio and pretty much everything for day to day use?
Thanks.
Thread closed. This will turn in to a thus rom is best thread very quickly. Best thing to do is to try the Roms for yourself.
Mayn't thanks,
Ghost
