Hi all,
I was running CM7rc3 for quite a while and wanted to see what 2.3 was like with sense so I flashed back to my backup to stock and attempted to update, didn't work, tried the unroot process and stuff, still couldn't get it going, so I thought f it and tried to put CM7 back on. I turned S-OFF and what not, went into clockwork recovery, cleared the data/cache installed from zip.
It said installed and I rebooted, only to have the HTC logo come up and it hung there for 40 mins before I took the battery out and tried again... Still no luck.
So now I can't boot my phone and I have lost my original back up.
I have recently moved cities and really need my phone up asap.
What can I do?
all good, managed to find a stock rom online for my service provider and get it going again

Im trying to unroot my HTC Evo I got a few days ago. I was fully rooted with damagecontrol ROM and now I want to unroot it. I tried the RUU_Supersonic_1.32.651.1_Radio_1.39.00.04.26_release_171253. I tried running that and it failed plus my phone went into a boot loop. I flashed my phone with Supersonic_1.32.651.1_rooted and it booted completely. I guess thats a good thing.
The question is how do I restore this phone back to factory stock like it came directly out of the box from Sprint?

Find a SHIPPED ROM, and flash it.
You should be good to go from there.
This is really my first time posting unfortunately, but here's what happened.
I have an Incredible that I purchased back when they were only available for preorder. I've had it rooted with 2.2 running Virtuous rom and king kernel since they basically were released. Everything has been running great. Today I woke up though and unplugged the phone from the charger and the phone rebooted itself. I thought, ok it does this every so often so I didn't think anything of it. Ten minutes later it's still stuck at the HTC INCREDIBLE white screen and hasn't moved from there. I can boot into hboot, but no clockwork recovery. When trying to boot into recovery it just goes to the white start screen as well.
I tried clearing user data from hboot and I tried updating the radio, and nothing seems to do it. I'm stumped. Is there any way to recover a phone that's stuck on this screen? I've got a replacement coming, but for future reference I would love to know how to fix it, if at all possible.
Any ideas?
So in reading your post, I gathered this information- You were running a 2.2 Virtuous rom on a radio baseband of 1.x? Is that right?
Did you try getting a complete stock RUU file and installing it via HBOOT?
Sounds like your partitions are screwed up. There is another thread about this in the Q&A.
First i ran the phone with stock 4.0.2, and one morning when i woke up(the phone was in the charger) the phone was in a boot loop(turned off when the google letters came up), so I ended up with a factory reset.
Some days later I rooted the phone and installed AOPK rom and installed google apps. 2 days later it got into a boot loop again, but now it booted all the way till where I tyoe in the SIM code, if I did it really fast I could also get past the sim code but just seconds after it booted again. I tried everything from CWM, restore an older backup, wipe cache/data but the phone couldn't find the boot or something like that. So ended up push adb stock rom.
Is this something thats normal? I got 2 friends with the same phone, never had any problem, they both run stock 4.0.2.
I too had a problem with my Gnex, it kept freezing up and switching off, if you are getting this problem on stock and custom roms its likely hardware, so send it off to Sammy, just a heads up but mine was sent off 10.02.12 first time then 2 more finally they said thay would replace it .... That was a month ago, rang them yesterday and they said it would be another week .. what I'm getting at if your insurance could offer a quicker fix I'd go with that
Have you tried flashing google's stock images and going from there?
Yeah, I did flash 4.0.2 stock again from that site, been running it for 2-3 days now.
I have a serious problem. I have a Samsung Galaxy s II Tmobile for about a year now I have had it rooted since day one with not one problem with it. I mostly have had installed custom roms is all. I Just recently updated to CM10.1 nightlys with no trouble. I thought I would update the custom recovery since its been a while I went from 5.0.2.7 and updated to 6.0.2.8 and this is where everything went wrong. my phone went into a bootloop at first wouldn't load at all I went into recovery restored to a cm 10 which was working before which now is doing a boot loop. and i restored back to 2.3.5 rooted and that worked. but with some serious problems. I can't download anything like from the web or play store at all I keep getting this error code 492. I was thinking ok well I'll just put a fresh copy of cm10.1 back on the phone flashing it through recovery and nothing it froze. I played around with this new recovery and found out that I can't install anything through recovery can't fix permissions won't format won't wipe cache or factory reset and it won't even reboot the phone the only thing i got it to do was restore to 2.3.5. well I thought ok well I'll just start over again by unrooting the phone and start at square one again. no problem as the phone isn't bricked but when I hooked it to the computer now its not recognizing it. it comes up as unknown device which worked yesterday and never had a problem before i tried uninstalling drivers off my computer reinstalling them to no success. however I thought If I somehow get rom manager back on the phone i can reinstall 5.0.2.7 back on which i did come up with the idea to use kies air for that which did work. but I couldn't get back to 5.0.2.7 by doing that does anybody have any suggestions that can help me out my phone is working i can do everything that it is suppose to do make call connect to the mobile web, wifi but i want back on my custom rom can anybody help thanks
Hello. First post here, want to say thank you to everyone that works hard on these images and boards, you all do a great job.
Here's my issue, and I'll try to be as specific as I can. I'm semi-new to all this but I had someone helping me that knows a lot more than I.
Recently, I got an HTC Inspire HD (Same thing as the Desire HD) on the AT&T network. It was a freebie, so I decided to flash some custom stuff on it.
Currently, my backup image is ClockwordMods, and the main OS, I first tried Cynogenmod's unofficial 11 version. When that failed, we removed it and attempted Xperia4.4.2-beta-2 with OTA-2.0.1-for-Beta-2 and ota-2.0.2-for-Beta-2. I used philz custom touch interface which works beautifully. I followed the directions to a T. wiped the phone for a new image, wiped all the cache (even under advanced as it told me), and flashed in the new OS, rebooted, flashed in OTA 1, reboot, flashed in OTA 2, reboot. But it hangs on the HTC screen. Now, it's not bricked, as I can still access the menu.
here is what is getting me. I loaded on an image called PD98IMG found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248608
It rebooted, but it hung at Parsing for 20 minutes. So, after spending 12 hours trying to remove the battery case (Whoever invented this phone can die, and more like 3 minutes, but still a pain in the butt) I popped the battery, rebooted and mounted the SD card and removed the PD file. However, when i got into the bootloader, it would still look for this file! So I put it back on, and now it hangs again at Parsing. So this morning I bought a mini-SD adaptor, slapped it in the PC and removed the PD file again, redownloaded it, and attempted it again. This time it took, it parsed for about 2 seconds and seemed to be fine. So now, I rebooted the phone, and let it sit on the HTC screen for about 15 minutes (5 is norm from what i'm told, 10 is long, I figured 15 was safe), and nothing. It still hangs. I'm going to attempt another flash and put Cynogenmod 11 back on and see if it could be a bad download, but this is where I'm stuck at. Any help would be appreciated. Hopefully this was enough detail.
Edit: Ok, I put cm-11-20140609-UNOFFICIAL on from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2533007, i wiped data, cache, etc etc, everything, and still hung on the HTC screen. Not quite sure what's going on.
