USB port on 10.1v - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Accessories

Hi everyone!
I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v. It's pretty good but it doesn't have any USB port.
I found the Samsung accesories:
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab-accessories/EPL-1PL0BEGSTA
http://www.samsung.de/de/Privatkund...r/EPL-1PLRBEGSTD/accdetail.aspx?atab=features
But I'm not sure if this will work on my 10.1v with Android 3.0.1.
What do you know about it? Will it work?
Thank you for your future answer.

Nobody can help me?

I am also interested in this, I assume it works, but not sure

I wanted it too but in USA it is on back order , no shipping date.

I suppose that you must wait the upgrade to honeycomb 3.1 that include usbhost, so you can use the usb cradle

We don't must wait the upgrade, we can flash the Galaxy Tab 10.1 ROM (with 3.1 + Touchwizz UX) but I don't know if the drivers are installed in 3.1

it don't work with the 10.1v
you have to wait for the update on 3.1

May I know where you heard that from? Users on the forums who*have OTG devices have tested and confirmed that it is not supported.
not supported at the moment
Did anyone test it? Or can anyone give a source from where you have your information?
well now i know what USB OGT is, and now i whant it lol, could it be implemented on a kernel??
We've got a user that tried: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43887860

I can confirm that it doesn't work with any of my flash drives or my card reader using microSD cards - all of which work fine on devices that actually have USB OTG.
anyone tried this trick?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2186034
it´s for s3 mini, but i think should work on this phone too (get it working on my s3 mini following this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCP3SEL9zkk )
Hope you get this trick working on this phone too!
No
No
I've tried the "Plug the power to the OTG" trick and nothing!
Anyone tried the HDMI output?
There are users who have tried previously and it didn't work. MHL adapters don't work either.
Any new about this?

Still not work with latest update, I try before a few days.
Currently it does usb host when powered extrenally not otg.. some modification required for that still.
Anyone in these threads think of trolling at all.
I will smell your filth.
Yes some custom kernels (like f4ktion) supports it. But no current will be supplied by the phone so you'll need an externally powered device as mentioned by OmegaRed. Or a USB OTG Y cable.

No the S4 Mini does not support USB OTG and has no power output to the mini USB port.

Can only confirm it... Bought an USB OTG Y Cable, so I can power the e.g. stick externally and I tried the trick that work with the S3 mini - also I used the App USB OTG Helper. But neither worked with rooted stock rom. I got no result.
Next step is a custom rom that supports it.
Maybe thats interesting:

Did you try your OTG Y cable with a custom ROM and can confirm it's working? I'm using CM11 M11 on my S4 mini and only have a standard OTG cable (which of course is not working).

Nobody Knows Answer?
oh goosh
Hi, i am going through the same thing too. iv scoured the net for a solution but its looking bleak right now. i found this site which says
"Attention: Android 4.3 has changed the kernel so that loading driver modules is disabled. Nexus 7 Old still has modem drivers enabled in the kernel, but Nexus 7 New (Wifi) and Nexus 10 don't. Since there is no more way to add drivers, USB modems cannot be used with these devices anymore. Blame Google for this."
can someone confirm this or say otherwise. am really bumd that they would leave this feature to use an external modem out. when old nameless tablets can do it. ahhhh

[Q] Infamous Tab3 Support OTG?

Does the Infamous Tab3 ROM by Jamison904 support OTG? To me, this is the biggest shortcoming of the stock ROM by Samsung, and would be great to correct.
Jamison904: WOW!, this ROM looks GREAT!
Thanks MUCH!
Isnt OTG implemented in the kernel ?
So it is not a question of the rom....
There was one claim that it worked for him/her. We are still waiting for his screenshot or evidence. To me it is not software/ROM/kernel but the HARDWARE does not support OTG usb.
kernal
Try some of the kernels, now the version2 of the 1.6 is tested..
OTG Hardware or Kernal?

I am too new to this to know which is more likely, but I can add some data about my Tab3 7.0(SM-T210R) on v4.1.2m (kernal July 18 2013) :
- I am using an OTG adapter and setup that has worked with other Android phones and it does not work with the stock ROM/kernal.
- The stock ROM/kernal does have some support for the file system, as the /mnt and /storage directories both show "UsbDrive A" ... up to F are in the filesystem.
- There is no indication in the Setting Storage menu for the USB drives. I have seen these USB drives on a TAB3 8 and 10 inche models.
I doubt it is due to hardware, as why would Samsung order different parts for one model than another?
I suspect it is disabled so people have to buy up to the 8 inch, but I LIKE the size of the 7 inch.
I also think it might have been stripped out of the RON/kernal so to save space, as the 7 inch is only 8 GB.
Hopefully Jamison904 or someone who has loaded the InFamious ROM can let us know if it works on the 7 inch.
Anyone tried it?
@rfmic
In Infamous Tab 1.1, the kernel is stock and USB OTG does not work yet.
ketut.kumajaya was working on it in his custom kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2439564
Someone posted a picture of the controller built in the tab and it should work with USB OTG, its just not implemented in the software.

Tab 3 3g sm-311 and Asix AX88772A usb pan with OTG

Hi to all friends.
I just bought an Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 3g sm-311 and I have a request for help.
I just rooted it and it works fine.
In my job they do not use wifi and I am in the need to use internet through my tab 3.
I already own a usb Lan card with asix chipset (AX88772A) that works fine with any pc and mac I ever used. Many people have connect it with OTG cable. It detects it but no drivers re installed in the tablet.
They provide drivers For Android 1.x/2.x/3.x/4.x, Linux kernel 2.6.14 and later that needs to be compiled to kernel.
I do not have the knowledge to do that. Can someone help me out on that and explain how I will put back the kernel ?
I would like to thank everyone in advance .
Best Regards
Anyone ?
Umm.... I think everyone with the 7 inch model of the Tab 3 is having that issue..... Some of us think that it will come through an uupdate or somthing.... Otherwise iv tried to push the persmissions using a xml file which says its detected and thats all....Still dosnt work...:crying:
You can download PPP Widget from the Play Store. Samsung devices lack the Option driver in the stock kernel, so you might need to get that separately. They don't need to be compiled into the kernel. You can have them as loadable modules. The forums on draisberghof.de may provide a link.
The ability to load kernel modules has been removed from the stock Android kernel from Android 4.3 onwards, which sucks, but we can always use a recompiled kernel.
No lack..... do you think that I should contact samsung ?

What have you tried? Did you get the drivers? Samsung will be unable to help except point you at their kernel source, if they do respond.
Please check this thread on the usb_modeswitch forum and request Josh for drivers for the specific kernel for the Tab.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Tab Lite 3 7.0 (SM-T110) Usb Keyboard Problem

Dear XDA,
I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab Lite 3 7.0 (SM-T110) and a usb keyboard that has a male micro usb connector. My problem is that I can't get the keyboard to work. I rooted my tablet, tried custom ROMs and Blackhawk custom kernel, tried adding android.hardware.usb.host.xml file to /system/etc/permissions, but I simply won't work.
I also own a Samsung Galaxy S5 and when I connect the keyboard it works flawlessly. So, the problem is definitely with the tablet. I ran USB Host diagnosis and got the following results:
ANDROID API
Claims support: yes
Classes found: yes
Device detected: no
ROOTED API
Claims support: N/A
Device detected: N/A
KERNEL
Claims support: no
Device detected: N/A
VERDICT
OS support: no
3rd party apps: no
At the moment, I have a stock firmware for south east Europe.
So, to sum up, I tried literally everything I could find, so please tell me if there's a way to get my keyboard finally work.
Thanks in advance!
This won't work over USB since there is no USB-OTG functionality on the Tab 3 Series..

Correction. gt-p52XX otg capable
sm-t2XX [?] not otg.

Thank you for your answers, guys.
Is there any workaround to make it work? Is it possible to make any kernel modifications to enable USB host functionality?
