Stock GB or UD Launcher for CM7? - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, I switched from MDJ's CM7 to the Nightlys a few weeks ago but i hate ADW Launcher. Does anyone have a link for the stock GB launcher oder UD launcher from MDJ's rom? I've searched fpr UD Launcher but i just found dead links for Nexus S.

I think the stock launcher should already be there. Go into the settings, application settings, manage applications, find ADW and go onto it. Then press "Clear Defaults". Then when you press the home button it should give you an option to go to the stock launcher.

Restore the basic Android Launcher

Whenever I select the phone feature in the dock (on the home screen) it states "Application not Installed." There is no settings for Android Launcher or dragging over the app to replace the existing one doesnt work either. I'm assuming i'll have to uninstall with titanium and restore it but i dont have the basic launcher. Can someone tell how to place that icon on the home page or just reflash/reinstall android launcher?
thanks
the stock launcher is not customizable. You have to either have the AOSP dialer installed, or that button will not work.
I'm sure someone could modify the stock launcher to work with the sense dialer (it is open source after all) but I haven't ever seen it done.
Launcher Pro and ADW are both built off the stock launcher, so there isn't much of a downside to using one of them.

[Q] Disable HTC Sense

Is there a way to disable the Sense UI on wildfire s?
I've found a lot instructions to turn it of, but they seem not to work on gingerbread. So did anyone found a way to restore or install the old fashioned android ui?
Thanks & Cheers
So, you need to fully off it? Or only launcher. You can install other launcher(There are many good launchers in market, including standard 2.3), and, if you want, delete with root uninstaller system apps that you don't want to see on ur phone.
There are no roms without sense right now, waiting for a normal port of CyanogenMod7.
yes, would be nice to fully off it, but just to have a look if i like the standard one. (so i dont want to erase the whole thing)
cyanogen mod would be rly nice, but they still have problems with porting the bluetooth and stuff. but yes, im looking forward to flash it, as soon as possible.
what launcher includes the standard 2.3, can u tell me?

There are one launcher(Gingerbread launcher) - standard gingerbread launcher without settings, i think, pretty sluggish... I would recommend a "LauncherPro" - Very good launcher with much of settings, too smooth.. And. if you wish, will look like standard 2.3 launcher, but too better. But other launchers won't disable Sense at all ))
There is no possible to remove Sense UI. You can put alternative launcher, but this is not what you want. You will need some alt. ROM, but there is not much released yet, that will give you what you want.
well thanks guys.
so i'm gonna wait for an clean wfs rom.
You can also use a launcher, choose default actions to use only the Launcher when asked (I recommand LauncherPro or GoLauncher).
Then you go to applications management and erase HTC Sense data so it will occupy 0Mb on your internal memory.
Out of curiosity why would anyone want to remove the Sense UI, it's one of the best Stock Launchers I've come across, Sony Ericssons Launchers are rubish compared to Sense, the Stock Gingerbread Launcher is rubish compared to Sense, the only other Stock Launcher that isn't that bad that I've seen is the LG Optimus Chat (C550) froyo Launcher?
But for other Launchers adw Launcher is quite a good Launcher and very coustomizable.
Roland
I rooted my phone, downloaded and installed Stock Gingerbread Launcher and then used root file explorer and went into system/apps, then deleted Rosie and restarted my phone then went back and located the HTCLockscreen and deleted that and I now have a 2.3 Stock Looking Gingerbread Home Screen With Widgets, and A Stock Gingerbread Lockscreen, has nice Nexus S Looking Clock on the lockscreen too!!!!
In HTC supertool v3 there is a de-sense option. Haven't tried it though..

[Q] Go Launcher EX in a ROM?

Hello all,
I've seen roms with ADW Launcher and Launcher Pro and Launcher 2 as a default or optional (built in, not an extra install) launcher.
Does anyone know of a rom with GO Launcher Ex as either the default launcher or an optional launcher?
Sorry I can't post a link to the Go Launcher Ex website as I'm a new user but they are in the Market and their site is golauncher[dot]goforandroid[dot]com
None that I know of. Its decent launcher, but probably not the most popular. It would simply take someone who likes GO to cook it into a ROM (and permission from the software developer, of course).
On the other hand, not really much point in cooking in a variety of launchers, when you can just install them yourself in a minute. In particular, it seems like a waste to cook in apps that get updated frequently.
ILWT CM7
ILWT CM7 has GO Laucher as optional launcher, default is ADW. And it is the best ROM ever for our Vision

How to add or remove homescreen pages Nexus

Dear all,
I want to learn that how can I add or remove additional homescreen pages from Galaxy Nexus. There is no information about this even google. Before there was an icon for displaying all homescreen pages and you could add or remove new homepages.
Thanks,
What launcher are you using?
If the answer is stock you cannot add or remove pages.
you cant add or remove homescreens on the stock launcher
if you want to do that, you need to install a third-party launcher from the market
I have tried Nova launcher which works pretty well and is based off of the stock ICS launcher
I am using original firmware, not custom rom and it is pure ICS. What do you advice to me for modifying homescreen pages,
Regards,
Since you're bone stock you really only have the option of using another launcher i.e. nova, apex (they use the resources from and function just like the stock launcher with added options) or adw, go, lp+ and many others. If you end up on a deodexed rom then you have the option of editing the "stock" launcher yourself By reading this.
good day.
Thank you very much for your replies and advices, I installed Nova launcher and i can organize them now.
Thanks again.
How is Nova? I'm currently on adw ex and was eyeing the "tsf shell" does Nova live up to the test?

[Q] Andromadus Mimicry v1.1.2 - home screen switching

Hello DZ users,
i said good bye to the stock rom on my DZ and tested CM9 RC1 for a while and now i am on Andromadus Mimicry v1.1.2 - and it seems that I will stay there for now.
But I'm missing the home screen switching by touching the home button. After touching the button nothing happens. Both the stock rom and CM9 have the possibility to display all 5 homescreens as thumbnails and you are able to rearrange them.
During installation with AROMA installer I choosed "Search to Recent apps" and "Sense 4.0 Style Multitasking" for UI modifications. Then I selected the Trebuchet Launcher. Are these selections the reason why the home switch button does nothing? Or was the home screen switching removed in purpose? Should I switch to APEX launcher?

My experience w/ Trebuchet is very limited (I use Nova), but I was under the impression you could configure that kind of preview w/ the home button on Trebuchet. Regardless, you can do as such w/ Nova (and much more, I recommend it a lot!), so give that a try if it's not possible with Trebuchet.
Hope you enjoy the rom
Trebuchet is very limited which is a shame being that the cyanogenmod team is behind it, That aside I've tried both nova and apex launchers for a number of days before coming up with a conclusion.
Nova launcher is for 'advanced' users everything from settings to options and more is very disorganized. I had to search over and over to find a specific feature or setting. . .
With Apex launcher everything is right there in front of you, The settings are under the right categories where they should be, Apex launcher is more 'basic' everything is able to be customized. Using Nova there was some settings I wasn't able to change and support from the dev team was unhelpful.
