Hi
I was wondering if anyone here is using A2DP for streaming music, and is having problems with the volume?
I'm using PocketTunes with a Sony Ericsson HBH-DS200 headset and I have to ramp the volume all the way to 100% in PT to get it to pump out what I think is a reasonable volume. Anything much below that isn't loud enough to drown out public transport etc, and that's using those in-ear phones that are supposed to isolate at least a bit!
I've disabled the option to limit PocketTunes volume to the system volume so the system volume setting isn't set too low or anything like that.
Weird thing is the phone speaker is nice and loud and if I plug in a wired headset then I can get a comparable volume level at around the 55-60% mark.
I'm beginning to think it might be my headset, which doesn't have a volume control on it... but I thought headsets that did have a volume control just adjusted the volume on the device which wouldn't really make any difference!
All apps seem to be limiting in this way, whether it's WMP or PocketTunes or TCPMP. There are boost options in settings but all that does is distorts my music really, which is rather distracting.
Any advice appreciated! It's hard to tell whether it's the device, the headset or the software. Running WM6.5 and have done some registry tweaking to disable joint-stereo and increase the A2DP BitPool, so the quality's fine - just too soft.
Cheers
J.
Initially, my nexus's speaker volume and incall volume are both really low even at maximum settings. After browsing around xda, I found people recommending volume+ so I paid $1.62 and got the full version. Speaker volume is loud enough now, although I feel the quality is not very good. I don't use speaker to listen to music so it's not a big problem.
There's also in-call volume setting in volume+. I set it to 90 and strange things happens: When I use skype, in call volume is extremely high, I can almost treat it like I'm on speaker. It feels like the settings are working. However, for regular calls, the in-call volume stays the same, still too low for most cases. I can only hear people in quiet rooms. I barely hear anything on a street. Setting in-call volume to other numbers doesn't change the result. So my result is volume+ is only semi-functional. Any other fix for in call volume?
In call volume is the only api not exposed so it cant be increased. Btw everyone goes for volume+ but equalizer by smart apps is free and i much prefer over volume+.
Anybody has any other ideas? Low call volume is really annoying
Still nobody? Everyone‘s incall volume is loud enough?
Basically what the guy above just said:

Just did a test:
Removed in call settings
Speaker to +10
Called *611 (bell customer service) let the automated machine start talking..
Click volume down on rocker a few times then clicked volume up a few times and the sound increasef to am acceptable level.
However when i clicked up one to many times it almost mutes volume but the onscreen indicater is at max (found this odd).
Saw this on the thread you gave. I have the same situation. There exists a maximum in-call volume at around 3/4 of the bar. It's enough for regular use but still a bit low
low volume on calls
Still no one comes with a solution, the volume on the gnex is very low on call especially outside...thanks

I have the same problem using ZTE Blade... volume+ didn't work.
I think there solutions, many roms developer put on their changelog things like "in-call volume boosted" then I ask how you did that and no one anwers...
Anyway I did some research and I found on the rom i'm using a file named libaudio.so that says:
Setting in-call volume to %d (available range is 0 to 7)
Guess that for me increasing steps with volume+ only has efect until 7...
Maybe i'm being stupid... can someone with more experience analyse this?
When my phone connects to my car's BT, the In-Call volume is just a little bit low (at 60+MPH it's hard to hear). Is there an app or a mod that can raise this volume? Bluetooth streaming audio volume is fine and my phones volume during the call is at max. I have tried Volume+ (apparently doesn't work for jelly bean yet), bluetooth volume (on the play store, doesn't work for in call), and AlsaMixer does not have the values everyone says to change to increase the volume. Any ideas?

But when i activate the speakers or i try rec voice in Video or Whatsapp have a normally function.

what do you mean by connection?
when i make a call
Please make sure its not a hardware / physical problem... such as dust inside the mic hole, or a faulty mic.
I could give a modded acoustic profile to increase mic volume... BUT, I would search Sony support in first place. And use a modded acoustic in last place.. since a low volume mic is not normal... I never had any complain about volume,
But quality is another story, and it depend mostly on Service Provide quality
Does anyone know how to increase the output volume to the Bluetooth headset during a phone call? I've already tried using Viper and it only seems to increase the volume for playing music. I do a lot of driving for a living and I need to have the volume louder while I'm on the phone. Any assistance would be appreciated.
