I seldom use gprs. I want to know how to make wifi automatically connect when I open internet explorer or netfront. Is there a solution to this?

The network where I work uses ISA and has all workstations setup to go through the GATEWAY in order to access the WWW. They have a unsecured wireless network, and my Trinity can connect perfectly fine. I'm running Windows Mobile 6.1 and can connect to the wireless AP with no problem. When I launch Internet Explorer Mobile, it shows the default page, but complains that the page cannot be displayed when I try to go to any website - my guess is because Internet Explorer needs to be setup to use the gateway/proxy (just like the workstations are). But I do not see any options to type in the name and port of the gateway/proxy. Do i need a seperate proxy application for the phone/IE or are there registry settings or some other settings elsewhere that I cant find that need setting?
Any ideas?
Nevermind, ignore me... i forgot that there was a proxy settings section under Settings > Connections. my bad.
i have a problem to use a WLAN Hotspot in a Hotel. The Connection with the Open WLAN Router will establish very fast and i get an IP Address from the DHCP Router but when i open the Internet Browser from the Original T-Mobile HTC Desire there allways comes up the "No Found Message". When i see other guests with a Notebook there comes up the Hotspot Login when they open a web site. Is there a knows Problem with the Android 2.1 and open WLAN's?

I think what you meant is trying to use your Defy's as mobile hotspot to connect your laptop which currently setting to your college internet proxy...
In windows 7 it can auto established to a multiple network connections.
The only thing you need to do is setting your internet option connection to which network you want to connect..
Goto Control panel - network & internet - internet option - connections - Lan settings - proxy server - uncheck everything..

I have a xps 15r i use connectify software to share internet connection via WiFi .
I configured my galaxy y wifi settings , inserted ip address & port address.
I am able To Browse the internet in default browser & Dolphin HD browser but unable to use apps that uses internet connectivity like Android Market, gmail , gtalk , It Shows no connection . And I am unable to Download Anything using the shared Wifi Connection . Downloading Of files Does Not Start

mac filter is not enabled as i am able to browse the net but unable to download anything & the connectivity does not work with the apps other than browsers
