Hi all,
I know there are loads of wifi post on here and I have searched and tried all updates and whatnot.
Initially when I dual booted my kaiser to android it kept coming up with an error on the wifi and just wouldn't start. I have put the update on that is meant to fix it and it now starts the wifi, but it just wont search for my wifi!?
If I enter it manually it just comes up with "Not in range"
Has anyone else had this issue?
Thanks,
Doomie

looks like you need a WiFi Fixer, you can look at http://www.androlib.com/android.application.org-wahtod-wififixer-qwn.aspx

Thanks for that, just grabbed it, installed it and now it just sits scanning and still will not find any wi-fi.
change your kernel or radio version witch android version you use???
I have tried quite a few. The one I have just tried is "Scoot CyanogenMod 6.1.2 RLS6". All of them are doing exactly the same, its just making no sense.
Almost sounds like a bad radio install. I have had "0" problems with wifi using radio 1.70.19.09 OR 1.70.09.01.
Your results may vary as I've seen people using the 1.65 radio roms with no issues as well.
With dual-boot, I'm not too sure that WinMo isn't trying to control your wifi independently of Android. I have no experience in any dual-boot situations as I could never get Haret to work correctly, if at all.
I think I remember someone mentioning that you have to make sure the wifi is either on or off in WinMo before starting Haret. If someone has clarification on this, I'm sure the poster would appreciate feedback.

Hello guys my problem is this:
I booted my windows 6.5 to android 2.2 froyo CMDA. everything was working when i saw that i cannot connect to wifi. My friend also installed same android and his wifi was working but mine isnt.. When i open wifi settings i turn on my wifi, it says scanning... but after 5 sec it automatically stops scanning and turns itself off. Then some message appears on screen : The application settings(process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly.
I already have a modem at home and I used to connect on it with my WM wi-fi. I tried rebooting etc.. Nothing happens.
Its not cause of my modem because i already tried to connect to another existing wifi connections.
If you have already faced this problem and solved it or have any good suggestions, please reply.
1) WEP encryption does NOT work
2) If you updated, you MUST update both the zImage AND the modules files.
3) Some TP2's just don't work on wifi. You may be one of the unlucky ones.

Thanks.. I hope this is not my rhodium unluck's fault.
What do you mean by updating both the zImage and the module files? How can I possibly do that?

I meant it is not my rhodium's fault for causing my wi-fi to brick. I don't need any update. As i said my friend has got the same files as I have he is running froyo perfectly with working wi-fi.

Hi
I'm using the latest kernel .32
Barebones RLS 4_5 Odex build
1.70.18.02 Radio
the thing that I don't have any signal in my kaiser. it simply shows the name of the network provider but with no service at all. I have tried several builds and it's the same thing "no service". If I try to search for the network manually it says "error while searching for the network". I can import contacts from the sim and the radio that I'm using currently used to work well with WinMo.
anyone has an idea how to solve this???
P.S: I have searched for the issue and I didn't fined answers
Try a different radio rom, preferrably 1.65 . Also if your using an old build with the new kernal or vice versa that can affect your wifi.

I have taken your advice and tried several radios:
1.65.21.18
1.71.09.01
1.70.18.02
1.70.19.09
nothing have changed
the problem still persists I have no signal nor service
WiFi, Bluetooth, Camera and sounds work fine
is it possible to be a hardware problem?
the build I'm using is relatively new; in fact it's your Barebones CM6.1 froyo release.
I have tried newer build and nothing have changed
"No signal" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no certainly it didn't help
it's a nightmare
a phone without signal
I remember with my early days with android, I used to have good signal
but as I started using different builds and updating the kernel seeking for better stability and better battery life. the signal was lost at some point which I don't recognize.
is it a kernel problem?
or hardware?
How about flashing back to stock WM ROM?
if the problem still occurred maybe it is a hardware issue

actually this is a good idea
I should try it and report back
even though I would hate the look of WinMO in my Kaiser after seeing it with Andriod
You tried almost exclusively 1.7x radios. Try more 1.65 radios. As hard as it is to believe for most people its just 1 radio that works for them. I had to try 11 different ones on my kaiser before I found one that worked proper.

OK I'll follow your advice
I would report back later
it's weird because 1.7x radios used to work fine
but not now

If WM didn't sove the signal issue it sounds like your phone may have an internal problem with the radio unrelated to android.

are you saying it's hardware problem?
what part do you suspect?
Well its either the chip itself or you have a bad antenna. Could try an external antenna.

I guess that would cost a fortune to fix (especially in my country) if I could find someone to fix it in the first place
but to make sure I'll try to flash all Radio ROMS again and check any of it would work.
thanks for your hints and tips
my kaiser is dying
Hi,
I've recently overclocked my HTC Desire HD using clockworkmod with this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835616
After that, my WiFi suddenly stopped working. It could connect, scan; everything, except for browsing and going on the market, things that need an internet connection. (Yes, I did use other things like my iPad and it did work)
Then I tried to overclock through fastboot and adb with the same link. What happened then was that my WiFi died completely; it wouldn't even turn on. Only thing it did was saying "Error" (Actually it was "Fout" in Dutch, but would probably be "Error" if it was English).
Then I did what this topic said:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=993981
I flashed the new file and my overclock did change; the max is now ~1.2 ghz.
But my WiFi still doesn't work. It turned back to how it was in the first stage; It can be turned on and off, scan; do everything that it normally would, only apps that need an internet connection won't work.
Anyone can help me?
Edit: I already tried a hard reset, and it doesn't work. My WiFi and overclock state doesn't change after a hard reset.
Edit 2: I FIXED MY PHONE!! Finally. So no need for you guys to help me anymore . And please don't say I didn't try hard enough, because I've spent at least 10 hours in this problem. (Yes, I am a noob )

I just started from scrap following new instructions from a new kernel. If you want to know which one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835608
So I didn't actually solve the whole problem since I wasn't able to run the 1.61ghz oc, but that's ok for me. Hope this helps.

I have been having this exact same problem since upgrading to Android Revolution HD (Gingerbread versions).
At the moment, the only fix I can find is to enter:
ip rule del from all lookup wifi

In a terminal window everytime I connect to a new WiFi network.
If anyone can find a permanent solution to this issue it would be greatly appreciated.

That's weird. I'm running Android Revolution HD since yesterday and I didn't have any WiFi problems. If I were you, I would try to reflash. Also, have you tried to flash the recommended radio in the thread? I think that one of these 2 things should work.

I've tried numerous full wipes, different radios (including the recommended one) and still cannot get it to work without entering that terminal command.
I believe there are a few people with the same problem, yet it only seems to affect UK mobiles :/ ....

Hello everybody,
I have currently installed the ev_bravo-nightly-2014.01.22-squished.zip on my desire.
But I have a problem using Wifi connection. I have read several threads about similar topics, but could not find a solution. I experienced the same problems with the previous release. At first, after installation, wifi worked well, but after having it turned off it won't turn on anymore. It also says MAC-Adress is unavailable. What I have done was to delete the app2sd script from init.d and to install Int2ExtV2 (runs perfectly). I don't know if this can cause the interference? I have not made any other changes.
Does anybody have an idea?
It would be great if anybody could help me.
I've had this issue with some Roms previously, the Wifi turns On, but won't turn on again after you turn it off
(is that the problem you're having?)
the solution/work around was to put the phone on Airplane mode, and back
this sometimes fixed it
..if not then I'd just restart the phone
there might/should be some other solution..look around or wait for someone to reply :good:
I can confirm that 'MildWild (Android 2.3)' does Not have this issue

Did you find a resolution to this problem? Mine has just stopped working after many years of being OK.
Cheers
I resolved this by running a factore reset eventually, but this of course means you have to reset up your phone from scratch.

I've gone and updated my HTC m8 from 45.0 AR to 53.1 and have been having problems with the messaging app and FM radio. This was a clean install. I've had problems with the network APN before, but have fixed my issue when I still had the update 43.0. After updating to 53.0 / 53.1 sending pictures or links through MMS does not work anymore, regular text does.
I've made sure the message app has permission, and that the network APN is correct. I do now know if another clean install of the ROM would fix the issues the phone is having, that is why I would like help here fist.
As for the FM radio, it only shows 4 stations, I cannot refresh the radio to show any more then that, its just stuck with 4.
Thank you very much for your help.
Some info:
Android Revolution HD 53.1
Android Update-------6.0

Baseband---------------1.25.2145

I think certain people have been having this issue with cm13 as well. I have a feeling that it only applies to certain versions of this device since I haven't had any issues with MMS.
Have you tried searching through the Android Revolution thread? You might get a better answer if you ask around there.

I've tried asking on the AR thread, there was an individual tho suggested the permissions and deleting the APN, I've only been able to reset the APN. As for trying to search the forums for this issue, I'm not sure where to start. I've googled "Cannot send pictures through MMS" with post showing to change your APN, which did not help me.
I was thinking of trying another clean install of AR but then again, it might not work. Like I said, everything was fine with 45.0, not sure what is causing the issue now. Same rom, newer update.

Hm. I would typically suggest staying on the older version until you know for sure the issue is resolved, but I know that newer versions have added security precautions and whatnot. I'm sorry I can't be anymore help.
