Hi
I'm using the latest kernel .32
Barebones RLS 4_5 Odex build
1.70.18.02 Radio
the thing that I don't have any signal in my kaiser. it simply shows the name of the network provider but with no service at all. I have tried several builds and it's the same thing "no service". If I try to search for the network manually it says "error while searching for the network". I can import contacts from the sim and the radio that I'm using currently used to work well with WinMo.
anyone has an idea how to solve this???
P.S: I have searched for the issue and I didn't fined answers
Try a different radio rom, preferrably 1.65 . Also if your using an old build with the new kernal or vice versa that can affect your wifi.

I have taken your advice and tried several radios:
1.65.21.18
1.71.09.01
1.70.18.02
1.70.19.09
nothing have changed
the problem still persists I have no signal nor service
WiFi, Bluetooth, Camera and sounds work fine
is it possible to be a hardware problem?
the build I'm using is relatively new; in fact it's your Barebones CM6.1 froyo release.
I have tried newer build and nothing have changed

no certainly it didn't help
it's a nightmare
a phone without signal
I remember with my early days with android, I used to have good signal
but as I started using different builds and updating the kernel seeking for better stability and better battery life. the signal was lost at some point which I don't recognize.
is it a kernel problem?
or hardware?
How about flashing back to stock WM ROM?
if the problem still occurred maybe it is a hardware issue

actually this is a good idea
I should try it and report back
even though I would hate the look of WinMO in my Kaiser after seeing it with Andriod
You tried almost exclusively 1.7x radios. Try more 1.65 radios. As hard as it is to believe for most people its just 1 radio that works for them. I had to try 11 different ones on my kaiser before I found one that worked proper.

If WM didn't sove the signal issue it sounds like your phone may have an internal problem with the radio unrelated to android.

are you saying it's hardware problem?
what part do you suspect?
Well its either the chip itself or you have a bad antenna. Could try an external antenna.

I guess that would cost a fortune to fix (especially in my country) if I could find someone to fix it in the first place
but to make sure I'll try to flash all Radio ROMS again and check any of it would work.
thanks for your hints and tips

Maybe you need to enter your PIN or configure the network settings? Go to Start - Settings - Connections and start the Connection Setup. Restart.

thanks for the response, but i have already tried this and the problem still exists. I flashed to Duttys 3.1 Final ROM and am using radio version .03, have also used .05 but no luck with that either. It seems as though my phone is not even reading my SIM card. I called T mobile and they said that their network was fine and it just might be a problem with my phone. I have looked around the forums and havent seen anybody else with this type of problem.
Flash to your stock shipped rom w/radio, hard reset, then flash back to your cooked rom and radio of choice, hard reset.

thanks, ill try that. i have hard SPL unsigned 1.93, will that make a difference when flashing back to my stock ROM? My stock was 1.34 or 1.35. Also, you list that your devise is SIM/Security Unlocked, is that already built in the phone or did you have to do that yourself? And how is your radio when you say its best for the Bay, I say this because I am from San Jose Cali and was wondering which radio version to get.
okay well that didnt work, i cant tell you how many time i flashed my phone so far, im startin to just give up and now thinkin the best way to just break my phone. well i put my SIM in my old N95 and it picks up a network, so do you think my diamond just locked my SIM card which is why its not finding any t mobile network? or could there be a problem with the antenna in the phone? please help me out guys, im getting desperate!!

Duttys 3.1 Final, and radio .16 i have tried radio's .03, .05, .08 so that cant be the problem. I have looked around in Duttys thread and found a few people reporting the same problem but there were no solutions that i came across to fixing it
In the band settings did you choose AUTO? Did you enable HSDPA in Connections?
Had the samw problem, just goto Settings > Phone, under band tab change the settings there. If its auto, choose gsm and so on..

Have you guys flashed with the SIM card out or in? Back when I had my Kaiser flashing to a shipped ROM with the SIM card out used to work. Then I would hard reset. After that put back in the SIM and it would find signal again.

tried this too.don't fixed anything.
ya everytime I flashed my phone, I cant even count how many times now since i got it, I have always left the SIM card in my phone. I have never had any problems with it tying to find a network before. It started acting all weird on me right when I flashed it to 1.93. I think that somehow screwed up the antenna or radio inside that is irreversible no matter what you try. I have tried almost every piece of advise that people have said on this forum with no luck, im getting tempted to just give up trying to fix it myself and send it in for repairs.
Did you solve the problem? My phone had the same, it is coming back tomorrow or after tomorrow from the reparation...If you want I will let you know what was the problem. By the way, I was using Dutty's ROM too. ONLY OFFICIAL ROMS FROM NOW ON for me...
Good luck!
Hi all,
I know there are loads of wifi post on here and I have searched and tried all updates and whatnot.
Initially when I dual booted my kaiser to android it kept coming up with an error on the wifi and just wouldn't start. I have put the update on that is meant to fix it and it now starts the wifi, but it just wont search for my wifi!?
If I enter it manually it just comes up with "Not in range"
Has anyone else had this issue?
Thanks,
Doomie

Thanks for that, just grabbed it, installed it and now it just sits scanning and still will not find any wi-fi.
change your kernel or radio version witch android version you use???
I have tried quite a few. The one I have just tried is "Scoot CyanogenMod 6.1.2 RLS6". All of them are doing exactly the same, its just making no sense.
Almost sounds like a bad radio install. I have had "0" problems with wifi using radio 1.70.19.09 OR 1.70.09.01.
Your results may vary as I've seen people using the 1.65 radio roms with no issues as well.
With dual-boot, I'm not too sure that WinMo isn't trying to control your wifi independently of Android. I have no experience in any dual-boot situations as I could never get Haret to work correctly, if at all.
I think I remember someone mentioning that you have to make sure the wifi is either on or off in WinMo before starting Haret. If someone has clarification on this, I'm sure the poster would appreciate feedback.
Hi boys, i'm in problems again... i think u can help, or maybe try, if u want, u know.
Well, i don't remeber when, but suddenly gps stop works for me, or if it works, very very very inexact, for example, precision about 1000m... or maps says "ur location is unaivable", i'd try sense 3.5 roms, sense 3.0 roms, cm7 roms, o2 roms, now i'm with miui and still have the problem.
My phone drops accidentaly a few times, and before that, i'd try aGPS fix... but i don't know what's the problem... well, anyone have idea?
thanks!!!
PS: now with MIUI, maps says "ur loc is unaivable" and every app that uses location loop at "getting loc"... doesn't work.

I just flashed the alpharev hboot downgrader, and then the stock 2.2 PB99IMG.zip found here from some sticky. All from recovery and that's it. I read that you should use the stock 2.3 image, so that you wouldn't lose your warranty, but my phone was unbranded, so I guess it didn't matter.

Hello friends.
First off, I apologize for not posting directly on the ROM's thread but it seems xda has a policy against new users doing so. Second, I'm not a complete newb, but I'm not by any means an expert either, so forgive me if I'm missing something obvious.
I flashed Twisted AOSP v4.0.0 ROM (jb 4.1.1) on my GSM (maguro) GNEX as per instructions, and upon booting I got no wireless (cell) signal whatsoever (hollowed gray triangle).
Wifi signal was OK, so I could still browse & stuff. But no making our receiving calls.
Any suggestions or thoughts?
Best regards.

Interesting, I thought the ROM didn't touch the radio. But something messed with mine for sure. I've got "unknown" in my baseband field in options -> about.
I've tried flashing several others, with no effect. But if I go back to JB stock or other ROMs, I've got no problem.
I'm perplexed.

I've learnt a lot. Until today I hadn't had the need to flash radio, and had never heard of a RIL.
Well it turns out the app lists my baseband as unknown too, so it can't recommend a RIL that matches. Still, I've tried a few different ones and nothing has happened.

Hi all, I am again posting about having radio issues. (NO T-Mobile signal) Any 4.2 Rom I try to install, I am unable to obtain phone service. (signal)
Here is what I did:
1. Start from scratch, total erased phone and sd card and micro card.
2. Odin flash stock Rom and Odin flash latest TWRP
3. Copy Rom to SD card and flash. (flash is fine)
4. No signal, flashed newest UVM6 radio, all kind of wipes.
My phone is SGH-T989 T-Mobile. I even changed the APN, but still only pick up AT&T which still having no signal bars. I tried flashing all radios available with no help at all. I am able to use certain 4.1.2 Roms such as Infamous 3. I even tried different kernels, different wipes and just can not get any T-Mobile signal service. I have tried searching for any and all radio issues for this phone. NOTHING works for me. Can anyone or does anyone have same problem that came up with a solution to get a signal for T-Mobile for these Roms? I am currently using the Infamous 3 Rom using Arc kernel. Actually the only other Rom I can use it the stock deodexed rooted base. Very frustrated not being able to use these great looking Roms, HELP please! Thanks for any information or solution. BTW, I have tried everthing and every type of wipe to no avail.

Not getting a signal.....
- not using latest T-Mobile or Telus radio. Maybe you flashed it, but is it actually showing as that radio in settings??
- APN settings are wrong or don't exist. Lets pause here. You said you checked apn and only pick up at&t. Or am I misreading that. If you don't have the correct T-Mobile apn settings, then you wont get a signal or data. Period. This has to be correct before bothering with anything else. You said you checked. Against what?? I've seen plenty of apn settings when Googling it, some simply don't work. Maybe they are old settings, wrong phone, whatever. I'm Telus, so can't help you with the settings for T-Mobile.
- what has already been posted above needs to be correct.
- maybe radio file you flashed was wrong one or corrupt. Perhaps try the Telus one. Should work too. Since T-Mobile radio works on Telus.
- restoring any system data after a flash? Huge no no.
- wrong mobile band selected?
- and a possibility .....simply no signal where you are. Or it's a weak signal, and your assuming it doesn't work?? Ignore this if you have a very strong signal usually where you live. 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 shouldn't affect signal much if any.
Anyway.....that's about all there is to it if you are CLEAN flashing roms and following instructions to the letter. I am confident you will say all the above is good....and if so....I am afraid you will probably find no answers like your other thread. Meaning you have an extremely rare issue. Or a wierd hardware issue, sim card maybe....tho before you dismissed that as a cause. Another possibility is that you aren't correct when you say apn is fine, or the radio you flashed is fine. Not accusing you of misleading anyone, just saying perhaps you are innocently wrong when you tell us this or that is fine when it is not.. I've done tech support.....happens all the time! !!
So, good luck. Hope you find a solution ......tho this is your second thread on same issue....so you may have some rare issue....and may be boned.

Thanks for helping and I think your right about being boned or hardware issue. I have tried different downloads of radios, both Telius and Tmobile and copied APN settings from working stock Rom. Maybe bad Sim, anyway I will have to stay with what I have until I get new phone, which is soon. Thanks again!

i had this problem with slim too. i thought something went wrong with my phone or my area. but nope. what you need to do is go to mikeyman777 cm10.1 thread and find the uvmc6 tar file, then use odin to flash it. apparently just flashing the newest radio with twrp isn't enough because it's missing some files or something like that lol.
anyways i haven't had signal problems since flashing radio tar file. i've lost signal like once. before i was losing it everyday. hope this helps.
