Install the drivers, you need them to recognize your phone.
Hi Guys...
Have a problem with my Nexus and the USB...
I cannot for love nor money get the bloody thing to connect as a media device. Tried everything even to the point of formatting my laptop and hardresseting the phone...
Now I'm damn near sure this is a broken USB port... Does anyone know of a surefire way of proving this?
Thanks
Nev
Hi Nev,
might be a dumb question, but did you enable the MTP Connection in your storage settings ? Settings -> Storage -> USB-Connection
I think it is deactivated by default in some ROM´s...
RealDealSaar
What kernel is on it? It could be because fast charge is enabled. If so disable it and it should work as intended.
Thanks for getting back guys...
Stock everything installed, yes the MTP switched on...
Not long after opening this thread the device connected, however win xp insisted that it was impossible to find the drivers...
So I'm back to the USB not recognised after trying to use the drivers from the Root toolkits and installing the Samsung Drivers mss package...
Really screwing over this... now useless device... don't know what else to do...

Awe I know what to do. You have to manually install the drivers. Give me second... there's a video for this. For future reference don't rely in tool kits.

Here, you can try using this... it may help you, it helped me when i was trying to root and couldnt get the ADB 1.0 device installed.. How to Manually Install GNex Drivers
Ok minor step...
It is noticing the device... however all the driver I can find it states that there is no information about my hardware...
It is recognised and installed in PTP mode..
Holy Sh*t...
Back up and running... that was an incredible ball ache... Think I'll try avoiding the MTP phones in the future...
Thanks for your help guys
im new to the Gnex and im trying to install the device drivers and i cant seam to figure it out. i have installed the toolkit and tried to intall the drivers through there, no luck. i have also downloaded the drivers from the samsung website and tried manually installing them and no luck either. i also tried the PDAnet method and i encountered an error and the install aborts it self. i did have an Epic4gtouch before im thinking those drivers are causing some sort of problem i think. i read and watched the instructions on how to do things but i just cant seam to get it to work. if someone can point me in the right direction, that would be much appreciated. :good: also im not so sure what other info to provide here for someone to better assist me. im doing this through my PC that is running Windows 8 and its a sprint galaxy nexus running 4.1.1, build JRO03U.L700FH05 , UNLOCKED
Just got this tablet a couple days ago.
Zeki Tablet TBDG874. It has 4.2.2 Jelly bean. I have been trying to find a way to root it. Have tried several different ways to root(including the update.zip, and crystalroot.zip) and they fail which a expected considering it is a different version of Android OS. Also cant even seem to find a usb driver that works for it either. If i could find a usb driver could dig further in but can't seem to find one anywhere. Called Zeki customer support and they informed me the tablet is very new and they don't have any drivers for it either. Was rather surprised by it, and was also notified they didn't know what rooting was even though i tried to explain it, that was in vain.
Anywho, I am wondering if somebody could send me perhaps there working drivers for usb and maybe they might work on it, or if any other ideas i'm open to try them If you need more info let me know. . If this is in the wrong place, please move accordingly. I have been lingering on here for quite some time but never needed to post before due to great people on here always having a answer for nearly every problem i have had with any android device.

Well finally found drivers for this tablet. If anyone needs them send me a message and i will try and send it. Cant post things yet or i would put them here. However have not found a way to root it yet. Have tried many tools and methods so far to no avail. If anyone has any ideas i'm willing to try anything. I really dont want to have to send it back but it may be looking like i have to. It keeps locking up and have to reset it alot to make it usable again.

King root was the only way I could root mine, but the tablet went crazy after about 2 months and quit booting.
The only other way I could think of that I didn't try was to push /system/xbin through adb.
Another useful tool was called Uberizer, but it requires full adb access to push superuser.
Lmk how you make out...

Could you please send me my mail [email protected] update.zip?
If the driver is recommended you use Android tablet Multi Tools v1.02b will serve to remove the screen lock or wipe cache, etc ...
I know this is super old... but...
hey this prob sounds stupid but would the"drivers" you speak of fix my tablet that won't boot fully? it won't factory reset either. I've never tried rooting or anything.. it just stopped booting past where it says "Android" back in like 2012 or something & I just decided to pull it outa the closet and see if I could find a solution. thx!
Hey,i got a galaxy w from a friend and i decided i put it to good use and give it to my sis as a christmas present.
the problem is,the os is old.i looked online and saw that you can download an update or something like that.(from 2.3.6 to 4.something)
so i looked around, downloaded odin and the files, connected the phone only to see that there are no win10 drivers.
i used kies (new and old),usb driver for it and tried different things.
but always it couldnt detect the phone at all(kingo,Kies) or not in downloading mode(odin)
my pc always detects the phone as a serial port or something like that.
i tried going in the directory of the usb driver, didnt work.
i tried downloading some .cab files ,didnt work.
im so tired and lost in in, please help
BTW im using win10 64bit
PS can someone give me a WORKING copy of jelly bean cyanogenmod?
Thanks for your help
