Drivers for Win 10?? - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

Hey,i got a galaxy w from a friend and i decided i put it to good use and give it to my sis as a christmas present.
the problem is,the os is old.i looked online and saw that you can download an update or something like that.(from 2.3.6 to 4.something)
so i looked around, downloaded odin and the files, connected the phone only to see that there are no win10 drivers.
i used kies (new and old),usb driver for it and tried different things.
but always it couldnt detect the phone at all(kingo,Kies) or not in downloading mode(odin)
my pc always detects the phone as a serial port or something like that.
i tried going in the directory of the usb driver, didnt work.
i tried downloading some .cab files ,didnt work.
im so tired and lost in in, please help
BTW im using win10 64bit
PS can someone give me a WORKING copy of jelly bean cyanogenmod?
Thanks for your help

Link to gnex usb drivers?

Samsung Canada is a garbage website which has no drivers to download, only Kies. Installing Kies didn't work because my computer won't recognize the phone.
I also tried installing other random drivers for gnex found on the webz. None of them worked.
I was wondering if anyone knows of a good official driver for this guy.
Btw i'm running the non-verizon one.

If you need the USB drivers so that you can use ADB and fastboot, you can install them in this. Just follow the instructions provided in there. I found it to be the easiest method to get them.
Tried both already. Didn't work. Comp still won't recognize my gnex is plugged into comp. Win 7 x64.
Then would it still be the drivers fault or my phones fault.
I have Win7 64 bit on both my laptops, no problem with recognition. I do however have the Android SDK + Google drivers installed on both machines; do you?
The drivers are shoddy. If you look under Device Manager while plugged in, it probably has a ! on the device. Manually update it, choose list from computer, and go under Samsung Android device or something like that.

[Q] driver install problem

im new to the Gnex and im trying to install the device drivers and i cant seam to figure it out. i have installed the toolkit and tried to intall the drivers through there, no luck. i have also downloaded the drivers from the samsung website and tried manually installing them and no luck either. i also tried the PDAnet method and i encountered an error and the install aborts it self. i did have an Epic4gtouch before im thinking those drivers are causing some sort of problem i think. i read and watched the instructions on how to do things but i just cant seam to get it to work. if someone can point me in the right direction, that would be much appreciated. :good: also im not so sure what other info to provide here for someone to better assist me. im doing this through my PC that is running Windows 8 and its a sprint galaxy nexus running 4.1.1, build JRO03U.L700FH05 , UNLOCKED

HELP! Firmware Won't Upgrade!

I'm having problems completing a firmware upgrade on my wife's Galaxy S2. It's at ICS and I want to get it to Jelly Bean. We're using the horrible Samsung program Kies, which is hosting the update to us. It sees the S2 fine... No problems there. It identifies the phone and tells us there's a newer firmware version we can download. Every time I perform the update, it downloads the firmware and when it reboots the phone, I get an error that the device can't be found and I should try again. When I go in device manager, I see an exclamation point on Samsung Mobile USB CDC Composite Device and it says the device couldn't be started.
It looks as thought, when the phone reboots to download the firmware from the laptop after the laptop has the firmware, Kies isn't seeing the phone. So I did vol-up-down to get it in programming mode and then reinitiated the download. That little trick doesn't work since Kies isn't identifying the device.
I've checked that I have the most current drivers, which I do. I've uninstalled them and reinstalled them and uninstalled Kies and reinstalled Kies and still get the error. I've also already updated the firmware on my Galaxy S3 using Kies on this computer and it worked fine. Now when I do it on my wife's S2, it bombs.
I then loaded Kies on another laptop and it's even worse. It downloads the firmware update and the entire application totally crashes.
I've gone to T-Mobile and they can't help with anything. They suggested turning USB Debugging on in the Developer Options on the phone, which I did. Still, nothing.
I located the hooks in the registry editor for the CDC composite device driver and everything *looks* good, as far as I can tell. Driver is dated 1/23/2013. As I said, it updated the firmware on my S3 fine... It just won't do it on my wife's S2. I don't know what to do.
Can anyone provide any advice or help? I've spent about 11 hours on this over two days and am running out of ideas.

First u got check USB debugging ON (on the phone)
disable anti virus on the pc/laptop
kies will put your phone into download mode and will take awhile (Kies is super slow) for good reasons
Also consider rooting your phone and install custom recovery (CWM) and flash all the rom(s) you wish [if that's an option]
hit Thanks if i helped
Thanks for the help, Sam.
I'll try it again with the virus protection off. I disabled the Windows firewall and that did nothing. I've tried it about 12 to 15 times, which takes a long time because Kies takes so long to download what it needs.
Can I root a T-Mobile phone? I used to have a Motorola Atrix 2 and rooted that and did manual firmware and ROM upgrades, but that was an unlocked and rooted phone. I'm afraid I may screw up the phone or my T-Mobile service by rooting it and doing custom installs. Does anyone have experience with this on a T-Mobile phone they purchased at T-Mobile? I don't want to mess the phone up.
At this point, I think that's the only way I'm going to go Jelly Bean on my wife's phone.

Rooting your s2 is simple and easy to do. Go to the dev section and look at the threads on how to do it.
You will use Odin to flash a custom recovery such a TWRP whick will install supersu. At that point you can flash the ROM of your choice and not have to deal with Kies anymore.
Hope this helps

Windows 8 is problematic for some Android users(I hate Windows 8), is your phone a new one or old? My work laptop has Windows 8, you know I've never even tried to connect my S3 to it. I will give it a try tommorrow to see if I get the same results.

well i got my phone like a year ago and i totally agree with you windows 8 sucks. I think its my computer that doing that but im not to sure.In any case thanks for replying and helping me :victory: im going to test this on my sisters computer later and tell if it works.
I remember reading somewhere that Samsung KIES may conflict with Windows 8. I cannot remember where I read it though.
I have had luck with trying a new cable and/or switching usb ports. My desktop used to run windows 7 but now runs 8. I've never been able to use the usb ports in the front for transferring data with gs3 but the usb in the back works fine. I have also had to switch cables to get it working. Since you already have the proper drivers installed just try a new cable in a usb port in the back of your pc, that should do the trick. I hope that helps.
