I am a Noob.
What is a nightly build and how to install it??
AFAIK It's a day-to-day build of the code, in between releases. It's the newest and freshest, but less stable than RCs or betas.
If you are referring to the Cyanogenmod build by Quarx, check the FAQ thread. Instead of downloading and installing RC0, you could use a nightly.

What are Cyanogenmod Nightly ROMs? I would like to run one but am not sure what the difference is.
They are regular roms of CM7, but each nightly builds upon the last by updating fixes, patches, and new features.
Alright thanks.
Anytime man.
I'm new to the ROM stuffs. So can any one explain what is the difference between CM7 and the nightly build one??
Nightlies are automated builds, with potentially more new features, and more bugs. So, they are not officially supported (As in, support for bugs). Stable, as the name suggests, is a stable build with official support for bugs.
So If we wan't a stable rom, we shouldn't use nightly build right??
Probably Yes. But it isn't always that you are using a nightly, it will be full of bugs. I am using a Nightly and have no issues.
yes , nightly's have bugs sometime so if u want stable rom use CM7-7.0.3 which is the latest stable release
Quick question what is the difference between the nightly, stable, and experimental builds?
RC- the first stable release candidate (stable but 4g doesn't work)
nightlies- contain the latest updates to the CM7 Rom, all the new ones are generally very stable with a few known bugs.
I'm on nightly 25 and having no problems other than a few known bugs (volume on incoming calls, etc.)

Umm no to the RC0 The RC0 has 4G working. And some newer nightlies may incorporate new things but some things make it unstable too.

We only have the RC0 and nightlies. The Nightlies could be considered experimental or more of an Alpha towards a possible Beta. The CM7 thread with WiMAX in the title is the one to follow to see how people are fairing running the latest nightly.
What's cyanigen? Is that like a chineese knockoff of cyanogen?
Sorry couldn't help it...
im currently compiling cm7 from source, its almost done compiling, but i just realized its compiling the STABLE builds and NOT THE NIGHTLY BUILDS..how to i change it to download CM7 Nightlies instead of STABLE source...it would be even better if i could have it along side of the stable version..but ill take what i can get.
THANKS FOR THE HELP GUYS!
I've been running PlayfulGod's CM11 Unofficial for the past couple days with success. I see that CM11 "official" nightly builds are now available, but PlayfulGod is still updating the unofficial build.
Just wondering if there is a changelog for the nightly builds similar to what PlayfulGod has on his thread? I'm not clear what the differences between these versions are. I'm new!
If you read the threads, you should be able to find out what the unofficial builders cherry pick that aren't in the official builds. All it takes is a little bit of reading.
For the most part, there are not going to be any drastic changes - they are on the same base after all.

Yes you're right .. i think the unofficial is the best than nightly .. because nightly just beta tester before official ...
