[Q] Is there a working .zip file for MikG Rom - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Tried to flash the new MikG Rom with the new Gingerbread update and I got the error:Can't Open /sdcard....zip
It then let me reflash my SalvageRom, so with a few answers around the board, came up with the conclusion that the .zip file is corrupted. Tried the download from the link in the Deveoplment Forum on this site and the one from MikMik site and same result.
Any Solutions??? Another .zip???
P.S. Same result with AllianceKingdom Rom

Sorry for double posting...
Used factory sd card and Rom flashed!!! GREAT Rom!!!
THANKS!

It is possible you have a corrupted zip file, therefore, if you haven't already, re-download, re-wipe and re-flash.

Copy the .zip to your SD card. Re-boot into recovery and flash the zip. Search if you need more detailed "how to".
BTW: This is not the best forum... next time, Q&A Perhaps?
thank you for a good reply ive been searching the forums all day and have not been able to find the answers

Np. With rom's and updates you are typically putting a zip file on the root of your sd card and flash from there once you are in recovery.

Well its better than assuming you're fully rooted and know how to navigate recovery and actually select the zip you should have in the root of your SD card. The point is that this kind of stuff is repeated all over the forum. It is better to read before posting.

Did you read the post where i said i had been searching the forums all day? im not arguing
There's an excellent tutorial by joeykrim on flashing your Evo, as well as a little primer on using adb. The process will be the same for just about any other ROM you want to try. Just be sure to backup, and look into ROM Manager on the market as well. It's pretty user friendly.

Here's a clue. You asked a question, this is not the question section.
Did you know on forums like Techspot and Facepunch you would have your account banned for a week just for this very thread. XDA needs some serious moderation improvements.

What kind of errors do you see?
I had something once that may be similar on the Tab and the issue was a virgin eMMC (what you call the internal SD).
I found in one of the official ROMs a file names "P1000JPJM5-REV03-EMMC-CL869932.tar"
I flashed it and it formatted the eMMC, afterwards flashed the ROM regularly and BAM - the device was up and running.
Hope this will help you, you might have to start downloading many many official ROMs.

[Q] Unable to install coredroid v3.0 from coredroid v2.0

So I'm trying to update to v3.0 Coredroid from v2.0 I've flashed too boot.img (I think) But the recovery goes "Unable to install. Install aborted" can anyone help me?
Why didn't u post this to the CoreDroid thread???
But to answer the question...
Firstly, u might have a corrupt download. Did u check the md5 sums? Do they match?
Secondly, after flkashing the boot.img did u try "fastboot erase cache" in fastboot mode?
Thirdly, what i would do...
Download the rom.zip again, perform a full wipe and try from scratch.
99% this will work..
Theres a coredroid thread? I couldn't find it! I'm not sure about the MD5's I might try a jump back to my rooted stock ROM and see if I can flash it there if not I'll redownload the rom.zip and try again.

???? Where did u download the rom from???
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601408
Directly from Coredroid of course I wouldn't get it from anywhere else. I'm not sure if I've flashed the boot.img correctly though it said it has been and my phone works fine so it must have been right?
Yeah if it says it is ok in fastboot mode then u should be ok
Ok so going back to my Stock ROM didn't help I'm guessing it will be the rom.zip like you said, just downloading it again.

Yeah start from scratch, do a full wipe and it will be fine.
Just don't forget to flash the boot.img from fastboot and also erase cache from fastboot.
Good luck
Will do cheers for the help I'll post again if it still doesn't work

Hey, you haven't seen that we have a CoreDroid thread which concern the [ROM][13 MAY] COREDROID One X v3.0 [THEMED][FAST|SMOOTH][TWEAKS by j4n87] ONLINE!
I would like to thanked @DanteGR to have answered, but you would have search a little bit, you would find the thread, and we would have you answered very quickly.
I don't do very well with the way that the XDA forums are setup I struggle to find things and it was just easier/less stressful to post it here and Dantegr has now kindly shown me to it as well. I'm just about to try another dl of the ROM see how that goes.

I was wondering, How do I find out what some of these files are and are used for?
Also, Do I have to install them in the TWRP Recovery Mode?
Thanks for your help!

[Q] Play Store issues

I am on 4.1.2 Jellyverse v3.0 but that isn't that important...on the play Store, I can download (almost) any app, but with a few apps when I download them I get an error (see attached photo). I've read up, looking for fixes, one talks of deleting a file within ".android_secure" but there's nothing in the folder. Anyone else run into this issue and if so how did you fix it?
Thanks!

Have you tried un-mounting your sd card, install the app, then remount the sd card? Can't remember the other fixes but that was a common work around. I'll try to locate the other threads for reference..

What kernel are you on? If are you on any custom kernel, flash stock kernel.

If it's not too late from now, you could try to flash THIS RECOVERY in Mobile Odin Lite, but it will still result in being unable to install to USB or SD Card. Then, reboot into that recovery and flash the recovery listed below in the attachments field, and it should fix everything for you. I had this issue myself and was helped by graydiggy through the process. Here's the thread I got help in just in case you need more detailed instructions. THREAD
Thanks, I appreciate the help! But yeah, I've already solved this problem that's to help from BluesRulez
