Just curious if anybody has seen the Windows 7 phone animations... They seem pretty slick and was curious if there was a way to implement them in to Android... I know Android has some but maybe just me but I think the windows animations and transitions are slick.

I dug around for some wp7 animations myself and didn't come across anything. I did find the launcher 7 home app in the market its sick and has all the animations. I purchased it couldn't pass up a 1.99 launcher with weekly updates.
Nice, maybe one of the devs can check that out and see if they can implement those

Ive seen this on the new Dual Core Motorola phones. Is there anyway we can get this on the Epic Touch 4G? More clarity..The screen ui rotation like the iPhone. That would be super sweet!! Thanks..

here is a link...at around 2 min you will see the rotation transitions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QYQtpzEl7A&feature=related
With all the fancy transition effects with the Go Launcher I'm running, I'm surprised there's no rotation transition effects.
On the OGEvo MikG has adopted this in his Tom somehow. Maybe someone can ask him on how we do this for out phone.
any updates?

Talked to a buddy of mine about this...
There's an app called spare parts that lets you add different animations and transitions to the phone.
He commented that for android 1.5 and maybe 1.6 you could add fancy rotation animations, but for later versions it won't.
It's also not an option in go launcher, though there are tons of other animations.
Maybe this no longer exists in stock android? Maybe HTC had to reinvent the wheel and add lots of custom code to make this happen for their sense UI?

Its in ICS, so I'm sure it will be ported over when we get a rom.
Bump.
So more "Spin" and less brash.
I hope we can get it ported over, looks sweet.
Is there anyway to get the HTC theme and widgets to work on this phone. Was playing with the amaze and sensation and i like the animations when you switch pages. Also there widgets seems nice also. So is it possible?

No, it's not really possible. The only way it would work is if someone completely ported over an HTC ROM which would be extremely hard on a Samsung phone.

Thanks for the info. But what makes it so complicated? Are the animations do-able?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Not sure about the trans animations. Qazimia512 has a nice transition animation in his ics theme though. Also if you like the Widgets there a several onvthe market that mimic them. Like android pro Widgets for the scrollable Facebook and twitter Widgets.

HTC sense is closed source. The animations are possible though. I'm guessing you want the carousel effect?

Like said above, they don't have their source open for us to builds from. Plus, the libs are a lot different. When you ask about the animations, are you talking the transition animations or the carousel animations from the launcher? Either way, you can get close to them with various apps on the market. Some launchers have the carousel effect and for the transition animations you can get 'Anim Mod' from the market and use the blur animations. I'm pretty sure its close to the same. I hope this helped with your question, let me know if I'm way off lol.

That helped a lot but carousel effect is there anyway to get it with the stock launcher because other launcher doesn't the stock calender widget .and that one is really useful to me. I would also like the 3d box animation from the moto blur.

I absolutely LOVE the widgets that are on this phone! Very clean looking. Anyone have any idea where I can download these? I have BW and Fancy Widgets etc. but these widgets are exactly what I'm looking for. Any way to get these working on the GN? Looks like stock ICS so hopefully, it's just apk's!

I agree, would like these too.
Looks more like a live wallpaper than Widgets

I think we can easily run them once someone throws out a build of the padfones software. On the transformer, we were able to use the widgets from the stock software on aosp roms like aokp. And I also want them, I love Asus' minimal widgets.

Engadget had a story about the PadFone with the same Widgets and a different background. Most likely they're widgets.

Wanted to bump this. I'm also very interested. Running my GNex on Paranoid Android and would like to give it a Transformer look.
I believe you can get a very similar look with Fancy Widgets...
damn need this on the gnex. could this be made to work with theme chooser

You can accomplish this UI with the current apps on the playstore... Desktop Visualizer, Widget Locker, Multi Live Wallpaper and a little Gimp/Photoshop to make the wallpaper and some time... boom you have a very basic UI I think sharp isn't going to go anywhere with this.

I don't get why they put icons inside of squares. Its like putting an icon inside an icon which leaves you with a 3 column app tray. Think about all the scrolling you'd have to do.
The lock screen is cool and I'm sure the app store will have something similar soon enough.

its similar, use multi-live-wallpaper and set crop to "Fit to screen" (this is my version of it) if anyone wants it. I personally do not like this UI but I thought i would take a step toward what some ppl want. Ill make the icons 2mrw if you guys want em. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ffkbkwgxqvm681a/FEELUI.rar Enjoy!

this is more than just a home screen transition.
nothing out there (that i have seen at least) gives you vertical scrolling on the home screen as well as horizontal scrolling.
also, the lock screen is more than just a widgetlocker theme. the clock wont be on the bottom, and it wont scroll, the lock screen wallpaper wont scroll, you cant slide the lock icon up, and get the options, you dont get the nicer looking missed call/mail/sms pop ups.
this goes MUCH further than just some skin.
I just read an article about this from The Verge and i'm intrigued. The developers created Next interface and seem to be onto something. They feel the desktop is an unnecessary step to get to the app tray. Fair point, why have a bunch of apps then hit a button to get to your other apps? In the quest to be pc-like, Android has a desktop and widgets. Great, but I do see the point being made here. Oh, and notifications were redesigned.

A full port would be amazing. It would become my daily for sure, it's so creative and the design and fonts and everything is so beautiful. I love clean looks.
Would love a port...but its not gonna be out for a while...considering Feel UX phones arent even out yet in Japan.

Very impressed with the slick lockscreen, but not so impressed with the basic UI otherwise. Although I couldn't understand what he was saying, adding lines in between rows of icons is not a feature.

New launcher is fantastic. I'm using it and its great for people who want a "HUB"-like experience without doing all the work on their N7. So far I'd rank it above next launcher and nova as it combines a lot of features and also hosts quite a bit of other interfaces that are available in the buzz store, which has other people's ideas and designs.
Just thought I'd share this good find with the community.
At least I put this topic in the right section
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
eh, tried it for giggles. Maybe with some work it could be useful but it's mostly just eyecandy and fluff.
And I tried a few homescreens from the Home Buzz or whatever in the app.. Every one I tried you had to set up random stuff to make it work, weather widgets seem to be stuck with a static C or F marker, etc..
Im surprised no one else has chimed in. People usually swarm over newly found launchers lol
It's not really functional. More of just "oh this looks cool" kind of thing right now.

Yea, I realize that now. Jumped the gun a little bit. Went back to apex launcher. Either hit or miss.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
i played around a bit on my N7 (they were not supported 7' tablets, but looks like they start supporting 7 inch tablets). like bearclaw7380 said, it is either hit or miss. It also using more memory than other launchers too, and sometimes it gets really really slow, unresponsive.
Nevertheless, it is cool idea and has good potential, but probably need a lot work to make mainstream launcher.
